Title: Did you already set up your Yule/Christmas Tree???

After visiting 2 Christmas decoration shows at 2 different garden centers...I decided to buy some tree deco in a beautifull dusky/vintage/salmon pink and a little bit of a burgundy hue and...GOLD!!! I never liked gold...not in decorations...or jewelry...clothing...you name it!!!
But last time I was experimenting with some make-up colors I normally won't wear, you already guess...with gold tones and a little burgandy...and....I reallly...really liked it how it looked! I have grey/green eyes, and normally I use more cool tones like grey/silver and purples...those colors make the grey tones pop! But with the gold tones...the green tones where coming out really nice!!! :blush: :blush: :blush:

So this year I couldn't resist to use those colors for my Yule/Christmas Tree!

Nope. No Christmas before Thanksgiving at our house! No carols, decorations, lights, nothing. Everyone else always tries to break it but I'm very strict, haha.

My family typically does it on thanksgiving after the dinner, but I have to work that night so I can officially get out of tree-decorating duties. XD

Beautiful tree!

I'm not opposed to setting the tree up before thanksgiving, but haven't had time this year. So it'll go up maybe next week sometime.

We set up most of the Christmas decorations on the 1st of December. But the tree waits until the 23rd, Little Christmas eve as we call it in Norway :)

Its way too early yet for a tree in our house.  This year I am not sure my heart is even into having a tree.  So, we may go without one.  It happens sometimes.  I think your tree is lovely.  Our family tradition is to put the tree up on the evening of Thanksgiving Day.

I'm sorry for totally forgot about Thanksgiving!!!!
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the Netherlands! But we have this celebrating for the children at December the fifth called Sinterklaas...or Santa Claus!!! It's the same guy who has traveled to the States with the immigrants from the Netherlands in the 1700/1800! But with a lot of people who celebrate almost the same thing it's getting mixed up trough time!
Mostly the people who have kids who are still believe in Sinterklaas are setting up a Christmas tree after December the fifth!
But I don't see the tree only for Christmas but also the *Bringer of Light* in what we call *The Dark Days Before Christmas/Yule* !!!

The outdoor lights are up but the tree may only come up after the second or third week of December.

We normally wait till thanksgiving evening but my little boy had been beggings for weeks. We put the tree with lights up today. We probably won't decorate it till next weekend. It is awfully pretty all lit up

I love Christmas trees but we've had to swear them off for the cats` sakes. A couple years ago, my husband's sister had her sphinx cat nearly die after eating some of the plastic needles off theirs so we went O.O and put ours away somewhere our cats can't get to it.

Gonna put up the tree after Thanksgiving, although I've already decorated other parts of the house and we might do the outside of the house today before it gets too cold to do anything. Putting up the tree after Thanksgiving actually has nothing to do with Thanksgiving itself (I'm not one of those people that's crazy about the holiday/meaning behind it... I just see it as another time of the year that I get to have a nice dinner with family). Christmas, for me, starts the day after Halloween. :lol: I just want to get new ornaments this year, and I'm making some of my own as well, so I wanted to get the tree up after I was done with that.

My mini tree is still up from last year. :lol:

As for the big family tree, we are holding off because we think we may need a smaller one this holiday. My dad may be able to come home from where he's getting therapy for his stroke on weekends / for the holidays, but he still can't walk up a flight of stairs so his bed and other things will be in the room we normally put the tree in. They--and having him here for the holidays--is more important than how big the tree is.

Ours will be cut down on December 23rd and put up on the 24th, not a day earlier. German tradition! Can't wait to go home!

The plan is to get a tree the day they start selling live ones. My cats absolutely love hiding under the tree, and while I don't approve of their ornament batting ways, I like to set it up as soon as possible for them. Christmas is also my favourite holiday, so I'm secretly a sucker for the early decorations and music.

No, my tree is back at my parents' home. Not even sure where I'd set it up here because there isn't really any room. =( I'm definitely going to have my parents bring some of my decorations if not the tree.

I'm not even certain how the break will go for me, if I'll be here or at home. Setting up a tree when I'm going home would be kind of pointless.

I'm getting a real tree in a few weeks for the second year in a row. I'm going to try to get one of each  different pony ornament I can find in stores to make a very 'pony' tree :P I have random other ornaments and some pony ones already. And lots of colorful lights lol

Thank you!!! I have to say....I got my diplomas so I may call myself *Master in Floristry* I did translate this literally from the Dutch titel *Meesteres in de Bloemsierkunst*
It means I have gone trough al the schooling there is to learn literally everything about flower arranging....
I can make everything from simple flower spray's till funeral wreaths and from decorating Christmas Tree's in a professional way to do all the floral work for a wedding!!

But I can't work in the bussiness anymore due to al the health trouble I have...but if I can...I will use my skills!!!

Your tree is stunning :heart:. We redecorated a couple of months ago and just a few weeks ago I realised I have no where to put my big tree now. It's a bummer but I don't want to redecorate again so no tree this year except my two minis.

That is beautiful! I love the pinks and golds.  My Christmas tree is a bunch of white painted branches from the garden stood in a pot full of rocks. It sounds awful but I think it's pretty cool.  I too have redecorated and comically have nowhere to put it.  It might have to go at the back of the dining table. I do have some stuff in boxes in my sitting room waiting to go on ebay. If I try to get those out of the way then maybe I would have more space  :lol:

I had to move myself in the livingroom!!!
We don't have a sofa anymore because the thing was old and awfull, so we bought ourselfs a comfy chair to sit in at the Ikea...
And because I want the Tree next to our fake *fireplace* I had to move my chair...but that's fine with me because I sit with my back to the window and overlook the whole livingroom this way and has the best view on the Tree! ;)

I set mine up the night after Halloween.  I try to stretch the Holiday season as long as possible.  I think next year I might have to get a taller tree.  Mine is pretty full and I haven't even gotten my ornament swap gifts yet.

We did on Friday. This is our first christmas with Kitty. She avoided temptation for the better part of a week, but last night she climbed right up to the top and wouldn't come out.

Ours is up now. We have a real tree for the first time ever! I got to help choose which decorations went on it, which of course meant that those I got last year in ornament swap went right on there. :D We are really enjoying our tree. The size is perfect for our current needs and the smell is lovely. I'll have to see if one of my brothers can snap a picture I can share since my phone battery leaves much to be desired. :lol:

The placement of the ornaments are goofy because my husband and my best friend has always wanted to decorate an Xmas tree for Christmas) decorated it!  :P I love our wrapping paper this year and the prize in the gingerbread house box is for my husband with an amazing surprise in it! When I say amazing I mean its going to change our lives forever (is hard to keep quiet about it tee-hee!) omg this is going to be the best Christmas ever! We are getting take-out KFC this year for Christmas dinner haha! We put our star on Xmas eve so thats why we have no star in the picture.

I already told that I'm a Crazy Christmas Lady...but this year I did something really...really Crazy!!!

I already bought new decorations for Christmas 2017.... :silly:
And...I have a Black tree...but...I would love to have a White Tree too.... :blush: :blush: :blush

I have *stolen* this picture from google, to let you see which color of green I have bought! And I already have White and Silvery deco from last year to match!

I'm quite folksy in my tastes mainly due to being thrifty  >_< but I really love when people try different colour schemes for Christmas!  I love the mid century style and use of colour.  My friend in London has a white tree too.

Owhhh...but I also LOVE a Vintage Tree with every color you can think of in deco!!! Even with colored lights!!!
We had a tree like that when I was a child....everything was made from glass....even the long strings with beads! And we didn't have only baubles but also stars, little snowmen and Santa figurines and also those baubles...I really can't describe them so I searched for some pictures....and owh my....I found a lot of pictures from deco we  actually had in those days!!!

I decorated my tree almost purely musically, with my brass/woodwind ornaments. I realize now that I could have put more ornaments, but it's back at my apartment and I'm home now.

All of the decorations are at my apartment. This one was supposed to be at my apartment, too, but I forgot. Now it's beneficial even without anything to decorate it with. lol
