Now let me answer the question I'm sure you have, "What the heck is a drabbit?"
Drabbits are "Dragon Rabbits". They are puppets created by Albert Alfaro Jr. who runs Imaginarium Galleries. Though centered in Pennsylvania, they travel all over the US to Renaissance Festival's and conventions. The company has been around for 40 years and specializes in these drabbit puppets among other creatures. Drabbits don't always look like dragons, some have attributes of wolves, unicorns, birds, monkeys, cats, giraffes, elephants, and more! http://www.imaginariumgalleries.com/ (http://www.imaginariumgalleries.com/)
I first set eyes on them about six years ago one one of my first trips to the Texas Renaissance Festival and I was in love. Unfortunately I was still in high school and without a job so I couldn't afford one of my very own, but that's not so true anymore! In fact, I came home with two. All six of us who went came home with one, either purchased or won in the nightly raffles. I hope one day to afford one of the bigger more posable ones, but I'm very excited about my two girls.
Without further ado, I introduce you to my wonderful new girls, Squibbles and Alexandra!

Squibbles is the little one. She is a Newborn Drabbit! These are the smallest and cheapest drabbits you can get. They can still be puppeted and have side to side and up and down head movements.
Alexandra is the big girl there. She is a Stuplet Drabbit. You can see she is quite bigger and has wings. The wings cannot be puppeted but they are fully posable, she also has a good range of head movement. This is two sizes up from the newborns and cost quite a bit more as well.
If you're curious about the puppeteering, their movements come from a long cable that can be discreetly slipped into a sleeve or the back of your shirt. You twist the end of the cable to have the heads move from side to side, and you press in to have the head move up and down. When you get to the much larger sizes they can have two cables, which will control wing movements, breathing, and wiggle abilities! They are made to perch on your shoulder and it's quite fun to startle curious folks who want to pet them.
I'd be happy to share my friends Drabbits as well. Four of them purchased newborns like Squibbles (all of which were quite adorable), and one got a smaller Stuplet like Alexandra.

I've seen these! They are pretty amazing once you get the hang of the controls.

Those are so cool!! I always admire them at the Ren Faire I go to every fall because they're so cool. One of these days I'll have to get one!

Yes! Fiancé and I go to the Ren fair here in AZ at least once each year, usually more than once! We have several drabbits from Imaginarium and a few from another maker as well. They are beautiful!
(Do they do the "roll ball roll!" Thing at your faire? I love that :P)

Congrats, my niece has three of them all won in a raffle from the TRF. That is the best way to get one in my opinion. I have no pictures but I have enjoyed them making the little guys come to life. Puppetry is my thing.

Those look cool

I've always wondered what those were called. I'd love to own one some day. I almost did get one at one point, but I was afraid the cats would destroy it since I didn't have a safe place to store it.

Those are really neat. Maybe someday, when Pugsly doesn't think all of my toys are actually his toys...
