This is the Hot Topic box so the last 3 are the ones exclusive to their boxes.

Wow! Those are kinda cute :0 I like how the Mane-iac is walking on her hair x3
I wonder why they didn't make a Spike dressed as Hum-Drum though.

Maybe Humdrum is one of the 3 swapped out for the Hot Topic exclusives?

I think what makes these better is that they are in poses, now I'm wondering if the boxes that have Flutterhulk will be heavier than the others. Flutterhulk and Spike are probably the only two I want to avoid... Spike because they made his face all weird and Flutterhulk is obvious why..

I agree. I've always complained that they put so much work into the mystery minis for other licenses, but the ponies were always in the same pose. That's why I actually love the We Love Fine chibi ponies, because of their expressions and poses. So it's nice to see that with these new mystery minis.

I'm kind of disappointed they're chibi. One of the things I like most about the minis is that the molds are the closest to how they look in the show. Still, I'll probably get a couple if I like how they look in person.

I'm going to still get them, but disappointed I like the more accurate ones.. I love new poses, but wanted them to be the same style :/ oh well... glad Funko atleast is still making ponies.

Please follow link in bio if you'd like to save the Funko Vinyl Figures, we are almost at our goal!

Lets see
2 AJs
2 Pinkies
2 Fluttershies
1 Rarity
1 Twilight
1 RD
1 Spike
2 different villains

I'm surprised they didn't do 2 RDs
Plus I likely won't get them in store.. I hate going to hot topic and I don't like going to the mall

Does this mean that Funko is going to continue with MLP?
I'm confused now, because I thought that since they failed all their 'big size' vinyls=weren't selling=shelf warming/unpopular (by doing a bad job with the Cutie Crusaders/off-model, making 1 shot characters like Cheese instead of someone like Zecora or Chrysalis who appear a lot/fans like) they had "Quit MLP Forever". (A shame...ish...when they bothered to put forth an effort their bigs were good)

I like that there are poses.
Wasn't Hasbro FORCING them to only do "4 feet flat on floor"?
Since Hasbro itself didn't want the Funko figures to outsine the brushables who they had 0 plans to ever 'new pose'. **Funko was having to strike a new mold for every pony they did anyway, it would have been nothing for Funko to do whatever pose they wanted, but Hasbro restricted them.

What's really going on with Funko? If these do well will everything else be 'little bigheads style' or will we actually get the rumored NMM or something out of them? I hope it can lead to good things.

Were they?  What's the source of this information?  Like, did Funko mention this at some point?

I figured the reason Funko did all one (body) pose was because it saved them a lot of money on molds.  Funko's humanoid POP! figures (like for Dr. Who, Captain America, etc) are usually all in the same pose.

These remind me of those chibi We Love Fine figures honestly. I'm not a huge fan of the power ponies, but the ready to pounce/dash Pinkie is really cute! Spike looks kind of freaky with that expression though.

About them cancelling the regular pony vinyl line (aside from the typical no longer popular/no retailer wants to carry them arguments), I wonder if GoH has something to do with it. Since Hasbro is releasing their own line of collector vinyls now, they may not want competition from a 3rd party company. I may be remembering wrong, but didn't SDCC DJ Pon3 come out around the same time as the Funko version? I remember a lot of people were commenting on how they would rather spend the $20ish on the superior looking figure than Hasbro's own over priced, molded hair/show accurate version (uh, sans all the bedazzling). I know the circumstances are a little different, but why take chances with having the competition again with Nightmare Moon? Just a thought.

You know, I wouldn't at all be surprised if this was the case. I dunno about everyone but personally I'd much rather buy a Funko vinyl than a GoH figure (and I'm not even much of a Funko fan!).

Yes, I think this is more likely the reason.

As for why the regular vinyls are no longer being made, I think it's because Funko makes their money in Pop! figures and mystery minis. Maybe the production cost for the big vinyls outweighed how much they made back on them, so they decided to stick with the lines that for sure make them money- I mean, we got several exclusive pony Pop! figures recently (even if they are just Twilight, RD and Pinkie), which kind of supports that theory. Chrysalis and NMM were likely too expensive to make in the event that they didn't sell well (which I think we all know they would've sold just fine, but after Maud and Cheese Sandwich, I guess the risk was too great).

I've been a member of the Funko Funatic boards for a while now and nothing has been said about why they canceled production on Chrysalis and NMM, so everything is speculation and theory at this point. Funko almost never gives a reason for canceling a line.
