Hi everyone, my name's Jenny and I've been lurking about the Arena for several years so I thought it was time to make an account.
I'm 35 years old, live near Fredericksburg Virginia USA, have two daughters in diapers and a LEO husband. I stay at home with the kids and work on our fixer-upper home in our rugged wooded neighborhood.
I didn't have many toys growing up so my ponies were very special to me. I still have almost all of them (I lost one on the schoolbus when I was five) and I was always in awe of my playmates' collections. Having children of my own sparked some need to get myself the ponies I wanted as a child. I started picking them up on Ebay every once in a while, but I have more fun rescuing bait ponies and restoring them than being a picky collector.
I'm only interested in G1's since they're what I grew up with.
My own childhood ponies include a SS Twist, Creamsicle, Twinkle-eyed Quackers and baby first-tooth Quackers, Tropical Breeze flutter pony, Rattles and Tattles, BBE Lofty, Racer and Paws, Sunnybunch, but my favorite is a badly worn SS Wind Whistler because she was a neighbor's cast-off that I rescued out of a cardboard box of unwanted junk.
I bought a lot of bait ponies off goodwill and I've rehaired 5 babys and an adult Sparkler so far, but I have admired Roogna for years and dream of being a skilled customizer. Can't wait to learn more restoration techniques! Oh, and I need to find myself an avatar.

Welcome! I'm Jennie too! You will love it here! I'm not a good at restoring. I wish I was, as I have many ponies that need TLC. I think its great you rescue them! I'm working on my webpage right now. I have lots of ponies to go through and some that are in horrible shape. When I get around to it, I'm sure I have some bait ponies that will be free!

Hello and welcome! It's so nice to see more people who were childhood collectors and kept their love for ponies into adulthood - especially when they're restorers! I'm interested in restoring as well, so any time I come upon "baity" ponies in the wild, I snatch them up to try my hand at tidying once I've got the hang of all the techniques.
I look forward to seeing your posts and photos!

Welcome there!
You are lucky to still have them from your childhood. They must be so special. I am not a specialist in repairing ponies but as you all might know, buying bait ponies and restoring them feels so great, it's like giving them a second life:-)
Have fun :)

Welcome to the Arena :)
So nice to hear that you still have a few childhood ponies. I'm sure there will be many more soon joining your herd :lovey:

Welcome!
Yay for having ponies from your childhood herd, sadly I don't as they were sold when I was thought to be too old for them and now at the age of nearly 36 I'm rebuilding my herd!!!

Yes! That's exactly what I am doing right now. Refounding my herd :-)
