Title: Your Patronus

Since I saw talk in the Shoutbox thought I would see what everyone got! I haven't been on Pottermore in ages. I'm talking back when they still had the duels and potion making. I did the Beta version ect, so it's been ages. I was happy to still be sorted into Slytherin. I ended up with a wolf Patronus. What did you guys get?

I had to make a new account because I didn't have any of my information connected to my really old one. I somehow ended up in Hufflepuff (usually I'm gryffindor or ravenclaw) and my patronus was a mountain hare  :)

Well, I took a quiz awhile ago, when there weren't any quizzes on Pottermore and I was Huffelpuff! So I'm sticking with that. I think I really fit there anyhow.
The pottermore quiz I took today said I was Gryffindor with a Dun Stallion as my patronus.

i got a mountain hare... :really: which is...imo the Lamest possible patronus.... i dont feel like that represents me at all!!! but i did get slytherin as a house, and that's totally me so they got good marks on that.

I kept my previous account with new site.

My patronus is a Badger LOL. I'm in Ravenclaw, and my wand is a "Cypress wood with a Dragon heartstring core 9 ¾" and Hard flexibility". And my Ilvermorny House
is Horned Serpent.

Yeah I tried to retrieve mine as I wanted to keep what I had before, but I was ok since I had Slytherin again. I mean I have a Slytherin tattoo. My wand did change before I remember it had unicorn. Now I have lemme see

Mine is a dolphin, ironically my favorite group of animals!!!! I LOVE Orcas/Dolphins! I was for certain mine would be a weasle or fox because I picked play and discover as my word choices, I feel lucky that out of hundreds of animals I got a dolphin! Ironically im also at the beach and dolphin everything keeps popping up! Im glad there are no do-overs because I would be sad to take it over and not get a dolphin. Im starting to think dolphins are my spirit animal instead of a seahorse!

Ive seen a person on IG get a unicorn and lots of people are getting dragons which are amazing!

My girlfriend and sister both got Hufflepuff, so I've seen several of those as well. I told my girlfriend I guess I could still date her even if she was a puff. :lol:

I'm not sure what house I'm in.. first time I took it I got Hufflepuff, second time I got Gryffindor..? I generally go with Hufflepuff since I think that's more accurate for me, I don't feel like a Gryffindor at all XD

and for my patronus I got a bird, specifically a Kingfisher, for some reason?? which definitely doesn't fit me.. I'm not much of a bird person and I dislike fishing (not much for water in general XD) so idk why I got that. The quiz kinda confused me tbh XD I'm not very good with "pick a word" things like that.

Oh, and my Ilvermorny house is Thunderbird ^^

No matter how many times I do the sorting tests, I'm a hard Slytherin and apparently my Patronus is a Raven, niice

I got an Irish Wolfhound. Not gonna lie, I was kinda bummed. I think it's mainly because it makes me think of the His Dark Materials (golden compass) series, and all the servant types had dog daemons because they like, I dunno, followed orders? But, I guess it does fit in with the whole Loyalty bit of Hufflepuffs which I am. :P

On the old Pottermore, I was sorted almost 50/50 Ravenclaw/Slytherin, so I'm a Slytherclaw.  ;) On the new Pottermore, I made two accounts because of this. On my Ravenclaw account, my patronus is an ocicat; on my Slytherin account, my patronus is an adder. It's kind of cool, because it seems apropos for the house, lol...like I'm the heiress of Slytherin. But I was hoping for a shark on either account.  :(

I am a Ravenclaw, my patronus is an Ocicat and my wand is 13 1/4"  Hawthorn with Unicorn hair.   I haven't read a lot about the Ilvermorny school but my house there is a horned serpent.

I also did the beta. I love that it was such as task to get into the beta and it was so valuable at the time that people were selling their accounts for a lot of money on eBay.

I was happily sorted into Ravenclaw way back then, so I choose to keep it rather than take the test again. I felt like the first time I did it was my true sorting and it meant a lot to me. I did wonder what the new test was like though!

I was super excited to read about Ilvermorny and pleased that I was sorted into Horned Serpent.

When I took the Patronus test, I got a pine martin! I didn't really know what that was, but I had heard that previously J.K. Rowling had identified hers as a pine martin (before taking this test and deciding it changed). So while I am happy with it, I am not sure how my spirit is represented by a pine martin. Super cute thing though!

I got a chow dog. Completely pointless and crazy disappointing :/ I wish there was some sort of reasoning for the type of patronus you get, and/or that the dogs weren't so ridiculously specific.

For house I got Hufflepuff :x I mean its technically accurate but I don't like Hufflepuff.

I got Gryffindor,  but my patronus is a freaking SALMON.  If dementors ever come for me I'll be an easy target because I'd be too embarrassed to cast my salmon patronus.

Thats actually a really awesome patronus!!!! Salmon are some hardcore creatures, the journey they take from sea to their nesting spot in the rivers amazes me no matter how many times I read about it or watch it on tv. They can jump crazy lengths and climb waterfalls! Salmon might seem silly but without them wildlife in North Pacific is screwed and would impact the world. So blast your fishy friend right in a dementors face with pride! Maybe you will unlease and entire school of salmon and take out like 100 dementors at once! Now that is pretty awesome to imagine! :biggrin:

Don't forget, guys, that your patronus isn't meant to be something you would expect for yourself - it's not supposed to be an obvious representation! Rowling's little essay about the patronus charm on Pottermore says:

"The Patronus...represents that which is hidden, unknown but necessary within the personality," and "a human confronted with inhuman evil, such as the Dementor, must draw upon resources he or she may never have needed, and the Patronus is the awakened secret self that lies dormant until needed..."

I definitely understand being disappointed - I mean, I got an ocicat (on my Ravenclaw account) and an adder (on my Slytherin account).  I had been hoping for something a bit less ordinary than a housecat, and I'm not exactly a snake person...to the point that I deleted my Slytherin account and kept retaking the quiz until I got something I liked. But then I read the essay about the Patronus charm, read up on adders, and immediately regretted ditching my original Slytherin patronus. I ended up deleting the account/retaking the quiz over and over again (again lol) until I got my adder back.

I know, I'm a crazy person.  :drunk:

I get the whole thing rowling is going for but maybe my entire personality can't be summed up in 5 questions... :/
Like isn't a patronus something you really have to dig deep to find inside yourself? idk i don't really agree with the whole FIRST THOUGHT BEST THOUGHT strategy for this type of thing.

I found this quiz (https://www.qzzr.com/c/quiz/272770/discover-your-pottermore-patronus) on tumblr that has ALL the questions and so can give you a better scope on what you actually might be. I got dolphin, which personally feels way closer to the truth than..a damn rabbit

I got a Bay Mare.  I was a bit disappointed cos it seemed a really common, but no one on here has put it yet so that makes me feel better!  Plus, pony!!  I think a G1 pony would be my patronus, if I could choose anything :)

I was sorted into Slytherin, which baffles me, not me at all.  Can't remember what I was in my original account, I think I was Gryffindor but def not Slytherin.

That's strange, I was able to see what mine looked like when they appeared after I finished the quiz. It times out after a moment, though, so maybe you just missed it. If you click to view your patronus from your profile, then do the "swish and flick" to make it appear again, it should show up for you.  ^.^

Mole Patronus; Hufflepuff; and Thunderbird. I expected my Patronus to be something else, but I'm taking the results with a grain of salt - like cannibalism said, I dislike the immediate responses the quiz demanded. I'm don't exactly rely on instinct.

The tumblr result I received is Thestral. :>
