As some of you might know, I've fallen on some hard times financially and posted a few sales mentioning having to sell off some of my collection to pay for bills, getting my car fixed, basic living expenses etc. One of my most treasured ponies, Tux, has been up for sale on eBay for months and months at a very high price because I didn't really want to let him go. I had a couple low offers of $50 and $60 but declined as I figured he was worth much more than that especially with the sentimental value I had for him. Finally, today I received an offer of $125 which was more than my $100 BIN price. :whoa: Immediately, I messaged the buyer to make sure this offer was not in error and she assured me that it wasn't a mistake that "he was worth it." After I accepted the offer, I said I hoped he'd be happy in his new pony home and hoped he would bring her all the joy and happiness he has given me through out the years.
And I received this in reply.....
You're not going to believe this . . but Mr. Tux just called me on the phone. I don't know how he dialed with those stiff plastic legs! Anyway, he told me you are a little down on your luck right now, but you'll be back on your feet soon. He said he is so happy I bought him so you could have a bit of money, but then he began to cry. I could tell he was very, very sad and heartbroken to be leaving you. I asked him if he wanted to stay with you, and he perked right up. So he is yours to keep.

Now, I've heard of things like this happening to other members of the pony community but it's never once happened to me and it couldn't have happened at a more fitting time. I feel very blessed and honored to have been given such a gift and now Tux will be staying with me forever. :lovey: Money really is fleeting but a pony's love is forever. :newpony:

I love the whole fone call story! what a treat. Not just the money but the whole little story to make you feel good, it's wonderful and your poor little Tux gets to stay home and feel better too.

I cannot lie, I choked up as I was reading the story as it was the most heart warming act of generosity I've ever received. When I replied to tell her thank you and how much that meant to me she merely said "HAPPY RAOPK DAY!!!" This really did make not only my day but my entire year. I really did not want to part with my precious boy because he is in such mint condition with original curl in his mane and everything and not a single flaw on his entire body. I told myself as I sold him that 'one day' I'd be able to replace him but it wouldn't be the same. I know they are just toys but to a collector they really do mean a lot to us. :lovey: Especially if holding them in our hands and looking at them make us feel better. :heart: This was genuinely the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me. And if the buyer is an Arena member and reads this, please let me know. I want to do something kind for you in return! :hug: :hug: :hug:

Waking up this morning, I'm still in a bit of shock but seeing Tux back in his familiar spot once more smiling benevolently at me, I know it wasn't a dream. I believe this is a sign of better times ahead and I'm so glad to have a wonderfully supportive community to share it within. This month marks my 10 year anniversary with the Arena and my, how the time has flown! So many great memories and pony friends made I'm looking forward to many more good times to come! :hug:

I've had a pretty rough year as it's the first time I lived on my own and became more financially responsible so budget has been very tight. I've already had to sell many other items that I swore I'd never part with, including my jumbo plush Frilly. Being able to keep Tux within my herd and STILL get some monetary help right when I needed it the most meant so very much. I don't know if the buyer is a member here but I do have her address and I'm still sending her a lil something as a token of gratitude. And even a thank you note from Tux himself hehe :happy:

Today I'm paying off three bills due this week due to the generosity of the "mystery" buyer. I wouldn't have made the payments by the deadline otherwise. It is an amazing feeling to know you are "in the clear" for another month and not having to worry about upcoming expenses is so sweeeet. It inspires me to pass it on and do the same for another and I definitely will once I'm able to!! :lovey:

This is just so awesome!! I have been there - with things so tight you don't know what you're going to do - and when someone just blesses you out of nowhere, and with no reason other than to bless you, it just feels absolutely amazing!! Like you are loved and people do care. So happy someone decided to help you in this way, and that it's allowed you to keep something that is so special to you! :D

This is the sweetest thing ever <3 It made me choke up as well! I am so glad that there are people with so much generosity in their hearts. It really make you believe in the good in people - even though it is just toys, and just a collection - it is what it makes you feel and what it means to you that really matters. And that is what the generosity is giving - not necessarily the actual toy :)
