We taped these off the Disney Channel in the early 80s and wore out the tape watching them. Now I have them on DVD. :)

I want to get the Island of Magic on DVD. My grandparents had a copy of it on VHS. Are English dubs included on the DVDs and are they same dub used for the VHS tapes?

My DVDs have the same English dub that we taped off of television so I would assume they're the same as the VHS tapes. I ordered mine from Hastings a few years ago but they're going out of business so I think you'll have to check eBay or Amazon to get it. I hope it's not too expensive now.

It's not really expensive on Amazon. In fact you can buy a two-pack of both on DVD or Blu-ray there.

I'd love to see a pic. Is Unico more popular in Japan? I tried looking him up on Sarino and couldn't find him.

I don't believe Unico is owned by Sarino I think they just produced the movies.

I loved the movies when I was a kid. My mother got so sick of hearing them over and over hahaha. I found and bought them a few years ago, and I must say they are far more disturbing (and very annoying) as a grown up :drunk:

I know what you mean GypsyTails I hadn't thought about Unico for years until someone mentioned it here and I started looking it up. I barely remembered it and then I was surprised at all of the things that were in Island of Magic that I didn't remember. I ordered a DVD yesterday. I should have it by the end of next week.

I watched my DVD last night and really enjoyed the movie but when Unico was flying Cheri/Cherry to the Ends of the Earth my DVD skipped just for a second. Does anyone else's copy do that?

I recently watched mine and didn't notice a skip-- that said, I wasn't watching very closely so I could of missed it.

Thanks banditpony. I think it might be the player I was using. It skips at that same spot in one DVD player but in another one it works fine. I don't really mind the skip too much though since it only lasts for a second.
The music when they are flying is so pretty and Toby's flute playing is beautiful and haunting.
