Title: Update in post #10 - happy ending, and thanks all! :)
Post by: Sugar on August 19, 2016, 07:50:11 AM
Hey, pony peeps!

So I won an auction for seven G1 ponies.  It was a smidge dodgy looking - the seller listed five by name, mentioned another with ice cream cones, and only provided photos for two.  It was only ten bucks, though, so w/e.

I got the ponies today, and here's my conundrum.  The two ponies pictured aren't in the lot.  I did get seven G1s (three were indeed in the list, plus the ice cream pony, BBE Lickety Split), one of the replacements is Twinkler, one's a baby sister Apple Delight, and one is a brilliant Sweet Pocket (complete with charm, string, and super pink hair!).  I'm not displeased by this, like at all - considering there's also a Slugger in amazing (if grubby, but that's totally cleanable) shape in there, I got one heck of a sweet deal - but I'm curious as to the why of it all.

Should I begin my spa treatments for these lovelies?  Or can the seller turn round and say they sent me the wrong ponies and request I return them?  I honestly have never had this question arise before, and would appreciate any insight.  Thanks! ^.^

I'm almost wondering if the pictures weren't theirs to begin with which is why they didn't picture the whole lot. It might not hurt to inquire whether they have the other two ponies that were pictured that you didn't receive and make an offer if you were interested. Just let them know in the message you were happy with what you did receive so they don't think you want to send them back.

I might wait on spa treatments until you hear back.

Contact them and ask about the missing ponies.  It's possible they didn't pack them by mistake.  I'd hold off on the spa treatments for now. ;)

You have the option of opening a SNAD (Significantly Not As Described) case against the seller if they aren't cooperative, but be aware that the seller will have the option to require you to send the ponies back before refunding you.  You won't have to pay for shipping (I think), but you would lose the ponies.

Personally I wouldn't do a SNAD since it sounds like Sweet Pocket alone is worth more than $10 and I wouldn't want to risk it.  I would contact the seller, tell them what happened, and hope they either send the remaining ponies or offer a partial refund.

Of course this also depends on the condition and value of the "lost" ponies.  Like throw this advice out the window if one of them was Rapunzel, lol.

Yep, as someone who recently recieved a wrong lot, I would definitely message them before doing anything with them. :)
Since you are happy, make it clear in the message that you love the ones you got, but is it the ones they were selling in that lot, because the pictured ones werent in there? I would probably word it as being interested in buying more from them, too. :)

Thanks, all, for the great answers!  I'll put off their spa day till I've heard back from the seller. ^.^  Though I may be tempted to start in on Sweet Pocket... she's so darned pretty and honeybees are totally one of my favourite things!

I think I might have ended up with your lot possibly? A certain whiteheaded bluebelle in it? If I'm right I have her in the mail.

Hah, yep! :) she was the only thing in the lot I wanted, I definitely would not have paid what I did for what I got...but since that was all i was after, no sense making the delaneys pay shipping for both the whole lots again, as long as you're happy with the ponies. :)

Happy ending!

So I heard back from the seller - she said yeah, she mixed up the horses, but I got the better ones, she thinks, and to enjoy.

Spa time imminent!

Now I just don't know what kind of feedback to leave - she was kinda nice, everything came fast and in my favour, so...?

I'd leave great feedback. Great communication, items in great condition, etc. I would leave out the mix-up. At this point it's water under the bridge, right? You are happy, right? So state that you are happy. I am sure if you weren't she would correct the mistake and send you the correct ponies.

I agree with Bluerose.

Thank you!  That was my leaning anyway, but I'm glad to have confirmation. ^.^
