I'm trying to educate myself more about G3s as I only have a few but I realized with much horror, when I'm looking at lots of picking through box at garage sales I have no clue the come ones I should pass and the rare ones to pounce on. So I was wondering who's the harder to find treasure if this generation?

Portobello is HTF I think. Any of the Pegasi are too I think.
also, here's a rare list too:

The two from Mendards--I always forget their name. The birthflower ponies and the three exclusive ones that came with the castle.
-
The three ponies Crowning Glory, Pretty Palace, and Royal Beauty from the Wal-mart exclusive playset are both lovely and fairly sought after.
Anchors Away, a Costco exclusive, is both somewhat rare and absolutely gorgeous. Definitely keep an eye out for her!
-
Port-a-bella, Fair Ponies, Comic Con Ponies, Winter Snow, Art Pop Ponies, the big decorator/styling ponies, Caribbean Delight, Frisco and Trolley and I think Love Letter and Thistle Whistle.
-
The rarest normal release I can think of is Beachbelle, but any international exclusive SLHs, such as Rainbow Bubbles and Snowdrop Swirl, are also pretty hard to find.

Who is Snowdrop Swirl?

Wow she's new to me!

it would be pretty rare to find snowdrop swirl or co at a garage sale as they weren't released in the us, ponies do travel thou so maybe you might get lucky. Rainbow bubbles is soooo hard to find and she was released in my country.
Anyhow if you are looking for g3 for your collection I would say grab any you like, if its to flip it can be very hard to sell g3s, most don't sell for over $5, I would only say maybe 20 ponies (excluding the ssdc and fair ponies) sell for more than $10 and thats including the intls

I don't actually sell much of my collection I just wanted to make sure I wasn't passing up any good ponies lol since there are SO MANY unique characters in G3
