Title: Do you have customs of rare nirvanas in your collection?

This isn't strictly a nirvana question :blush:

We all know some nirvana ponies are very rare and cost a lot of pony tokens.

I certainly know there are quite a few ponies I'll never own, but I don't let it get me down ^.^ I decided that having a custom would be suitable substitute.

I know this isn't what would make everyone happy though as I know not everyone enjoys custom ponies.

Here is a custom from my own collection of French Starshine with dark purple hair.

I would make exceptions for Glory and Moondancer I think because They are my favourite ponies.I do really like customs of a less rare pony in a different pose as normal. I for example have a custom of glory in walking pose and also Have honeycomb in a different pose as she normally is :)

Like PKW, I am at peace with having to own a substitute, (as is my bank account) for ponies that are beyond my means ^.^

I'd also love to have customs of the prototype peek-a-boo versions of the baby TAF unicorns. If you made those Panda I think I'd die! :lol:

Honestly I've never seen them before. But I took a look and they're so sweet. I can make them from Baby Noddins. PM me if you like them to be done ;)

Thanks a lot for that lovely comment. The reverse French Bowtie is an easy one - take a Sundance and dye her in the right shade. She's indeed a lovely one.

I have one Nirvana I am going to have to have done as a custom and that is the Argentina Sparkle Flutterbye Unicorn. I have the other three already and they are original. But it seems this last one seems to be very expensive so I at some point will be commissioning someone to do one for me. Chances are it'll be gotbunny as she has already done three custom ponies for me.

I love customs of nirvanas and the common ponies. I'm amazed at the talent on these boards.

Pkw, I didn't realize that you're the seller I bought the Italian Lickety split from until now. I can't wait till she arrives!

The German Starshine below is gorgeous. The rainbow reminds of one of favorites, confetti.

Awwww thanks. :o)
She was a baby cuddles if that says anything. LOL. I kept her back hooves so she would have stamping with her feet, plus I elongated her front legs. First attempt at a re-sculpt. Quite the undertaking...

I understand why people do it and it's a personal choice. I just prefer genuine stuff. It takes the point of the hunt and the quest out of it for me if you can just order it to specifications.

Alternative pose or generation versions of Nirvana I have no issue with. That's a creative art form and no different from making an alt pose version of any pony (eg a Baby Fifi with a horn, like her mama).

The only caveat I have with exact replicas, especially noting the talent in the community, is that all custom versions should be marked on the hoof as such. I remember the crazy over the fake Reverse Gusties years back and there are far more legitimated custom Nirvanas in the community. So I feel strongly that, even if they are ones you intend to keep, they should be so marked. That way, if something unthinkable happened, they can't be confused for the real deal later on down the line.

Otherwise, it's each to their own for me. It's just not my thing.

OMG!!! A custom of this pony id one I'd love to have made some day! She's beautiful :) Was she a Parasol originally? (that's what I'd plan to use!)

When I originally saw her for sale, I thought it WAS a real aj, and thought someone was really crazy for selling her for the price she was xD, when I realized she was a custom I still didnt hesitate to buy her! I still lover her. I was originally thinking about selling her, but .. well I cant part with it, even though I dont collect ponys anymore, I still adore white AJ. :)
