I know a bunch of you have visited or lived there. Hopefully, I will be leaving China on 9/5 (IF my replacement can get his visa for China by Thrusday as he is leaving for Cambodia on Thrusday to get his TEFL certificate).
I have a limited budget and about 1/2 is going to housing and airfare...mostly airfare back to NY. -_-
I dont plan on going to far from Tokyo simply cause I dont think its in the budget (unless I can find some students who are willing to pay cash up front for an English lesson or two :shocked:)
Any advice? I'll be there at least 30 days

We spent most of our time in the area called Akihabara (it's like being INSIDE the internet)... lots of gaming and toy figure shops. Then there's Harajuku, which we didn't get to- but it had the Pony Cafe (gone now) and lots of other boutique cafes and shops.
Tokyo is close to Mt. Fuji- so you can train there for a day if you're into mountains. ;)
We loved the ramen shops too!

Actually I am in Tokyo right now. I am doing the whole English teaching thing again. If you want I could show you around. I also know a couple of spots that have ponies. For sure visit Nagano Broadway though!
