So you all know that feeling, you spy something, something that looks ponyesqk, only to find it is not?
Well to go that feeling one better, the other day at one of our favorite haunts we spied what looked like the backcard to a G1. Then we got closer, and closer and well...
It was not, BUT it was a New on Card old school Fakie - now I do not collect fakies, and for the most part, they get tossed back into the return bag for when I make a donation BUT who could resist buying a one still in the bubble with such a fun card?
Want to see?
Yes?
Okay then - here we go -

Now some funny things, one is the copyright date on the back card is '84, the hooves are '89! We also managed to find one of the other "pets" from the set a few weeks back who I had hung onto to sell because I know some folks collect Remcos, here is Babe the Burro -

So thank you for looking and if you have any idea of value, please shout it out, I need to start selling stuff to make money for Breyerfest (and other things).

Aw, I loved those growing up! I had a white one like you MIB one. And yes, I know what you mean. I found what I thought were g3s at the thrift store, but they were fakies.
-
Heh. Seeing anything vintage on card, even fakies, is kind of cool. Tha wording on the box is vaguely MLP, too. :)
-
They really put a lot of effort into those fakies, especially compared to the G4 fakes we see today. Of course, part of the fun of the current fakes is the hilarious Engrish and the obvious fan art on the packaging.
-
Wow, they actually bothered to name them! Unusual for fakies.
I like the 70s style psychadelic lettering on the card, too. And just to match, the animals on the front look stoned. :P

Remco ponies are so cute and how cool to find one still in the package! :)
-
How cool to see a Remco fackie on the card! Kind of surprising to see how much effort they put into it.
-
Ohh, that is just so cute! I think its a great find and I adore remcos. I owned the prettiest white one.
-
I have a few remcos just the unicorn ones. I still like them. I need someday to find a place for everyone including the crumpet pose fakies I have. :/
-
Thanks ponies, anyone want to hazard a guess as to how much the carded one might be worth? I need to find all these fakies new homes.
-
No clue. I'd start at $20 though. ...just checked ebay and $20-$30 is where people have them listed.

Actually just checked and only saw one selling with a mint card/bubble for $13, so the condition mine is in I think I shall go for around $8.

Great find! I had never seen one MOC before! The burro is cute, too. I wonder if the deer (at least I think it's a deer) shown on the back card was ever made?
-
No clue on the actual value but I was just brought down memory lane. If that was the white unicorn MIB i would have purchased it in a second. My poor childhood one recently had the majority of its hair fall out due to quality and age.
To hazard a guess I would sell the MIB one for $10-20 and the loose one for around $5/6. No expert but it sounds reasonable.
