I haven't noticed a thread pop up about this years exclusive yet (forgive me if I'm just not observant) and it's only two months away, so let's start speculating already!
Who do you think it will be this year? What do you want it to be? Are you excited or nah?
I personally...have no idea. :wonder: Every year has been so different with the G4s, and I haven't been keeping a close enough eye on the show lately to make an educated guess. I'd love to see a G4 style art pony though.

Oooh I'm excited myself to know who will be the exclusive this year, I'm hoping for a few things!
Muffins :muffin: will get her own Equestrian girl doll
Sunburst brushable or fashion style
Flutterbat fashion style
That's what I'm hoping for... I can't think of anything else XD

I forgot they have EQG exclusives too. Muffins would be cute; I'm surprised she hasn't been released as a basic one yet though.
They knocked Pinkie's outfit out of the park last year, so I'm sure they would so an amazing job with King Sombra or Sunburst's outfits. Oh, didn't Trixie come back in a recent episode too? She hasn't had a fashion style release either and has her cape and hat... She never stood out to me in the show, but she does make a cute pony, especially if Hasbro gives her a quality, non plastic, outfit.

I'm still hoping for a Big Mac brushable/FS... but judging by last year's, I'm betting it'll be a mane 6 variant lol. "EXCLUSIVE new Princess Twilight Sparkle figure wearing the saddle and boots she had on for less than a minute in Winter Wrap Up! $50"
I mean, they could surprise us, but after $50 Pinkie, I don't even want to get my hopes up. I had such low expectations for last year, and they still managed to disappoint me... I guess only time will tell.

I'm hoping for a boy pony, but I have no idea what they will actually do. Chicken Pie was a complete surprise to me. I would guess it would be something they perceive popular with the brony community as has been the pattern. I've been a little out of touch with what that could be. Maybe Trixie? Luna? I like that Pinkie had a neat outfit. It would be potentially fun to have another outfitted pony.

Actually, I would rather them do a Main 6 character so I wouldn't have to worry about buying it.. and have them save the boys for normal retail XD
I haven't seen any hints though as to who the SDCC Exclusive is.. sadly we might not see it till late June or even closer to MLP Fair time

Idk, I'd love to see another villain made an FS toy like Sombra, Chrysallis or Nightmare Moon. I'm not up to date with the show so I wouldn't say which pony is more likely.
As for EQG yeah Muffins sounds pretty cool

Since the Wonderbolts have been showing up more than usual lately (and we already have upcoming GoH figures and a blindbag wave themed on them), maybe we'll get a Spitfire? I find it odd that we have neither a brushable nor FS of her yet.

Starlight Glimmer is coming out in FS later this year. And since she has never been shown wearing an elaborate costume it seems unlikely the would go that route with her eathier.

At this point I think a Flutterbat would be awesome, especially as she appeared in a second episode now XD
Alternate Timeline RD seems to be popular...and she looks rather cool..though I'd like to think they'll pick something more prominent
Countess Coloratura, while only in one episode, does fit the type of thing Hasbro likes to do for SDCC...and they are coming out with her "non rockstar" version in the brushable size soon (pearly ponies)

Oh noooo... anything but that :cry: Crystal War RD has become a major pet peeve of mine - that timeline was supposed to focus on Applejack! She narrated, we saw the most of her on the homefront, yet Rainbow shows up with a cool scar for 2 seconds with no lines and completely upstages AJ and everything else... Plus, RD had her own moment in the spotlight in the Nigntmare Takeover, where she actually spoke, and imo looked way cooler.
But as I said, it's a personal pet peeve, and she would look pretty cool, I must admit.

I really liked the one they did last year, I hope they do something fun this year.
I suppose based on the other Fair/SDCC ponies during the G4 era, it will be a fan favorite of some sort- or based on a favorite episode? But which one?
I wonder if they will do a new sculpt like the last two times or just do a brushable? I can't wait to find out :)

Just like that episode that was supposed to be about AJ, but completely got overshadowed by the opening scene with Muffins. Poor AJ always gets ignored. (Applejack for fair exclusive?????)

I like last year's pinkie pie....but meh....was kinda boring.....I always hope for g1 something, but I doubt that's coming.....so my next hope are g4 boys or nightmare moon...even King sombra

I think that's more likely to be a set similar to the Target exclusive Power Ponies line from last year.

I'm still hoping for a muffins EqG doll. I'd be all over that :D I just hope the pony is something semi interesting this year. Last years was so dull. Pinkie in a costume she wore in one episode ages ago. I'd quite like it to be a new character that we haven't had a figure for yet whether that be a boy character, villain, or just a new awesome looking character :D

Yeah I was really surprised when I saw last year's. o.0 I remember thinking "Well great, I don't have to worry about getting that one!"
On a side note, are we getting a Pinkie Pie in her chicken costume mini fig for the Nightmare Night set release coming out this year? People who missed out on the SDCC exclusive last year could at least have something. :)

My hopes are so basic now. All I want this year is a new character that hasn't been made in FS size, with brushable hair. I don't even care if it's from the show, G1 or an a new art pony, just no more molded hair or mane 6 please!

I think that bedazzled DJ hung around in the Hasbrotoyshop for ages... lets hope they learned their lesson (although I will admit I do have one, it is a truly bizarre pony!!!)
I liked the Maneiac better- and as much as I am NOT a fan of Pinkie- I had to get that Pinkie Chicken FS. I mean, we keep chickens so it was a MUST HAVE. The costume on the thing is really really nice too... even my wife likes it and she is not a fan of the ponies...
I actually liked the unique sculpt/design/concept of the Maneiac- but I can't think of another character they could do that for. Maybe Nightmare Moon or Chrysalis- but since they are coming out with figures based on those characters relatively soon, I'm thinking not.
So maybe a FS brushable with some kind of outfit or accessories? It will probably be something none of us saw coming, I mean- who expected Chicken Pinkie ?

2012: :muffin: Pony, basic FS brushable
2013: Swarovski DJ Pon-3, bedazled non-brushable
2014: Mane-Iac Mayhem, somewhat new sculpt non-brushable
2015: Chicken Pie (Pinkie Pie), costume wearing brushable
kind of hard to say who we will get judging from what we've gotten XD

I'm starting to have a feeling its going to be a dezazzled Rainbow Dash now.... please NO more rainbow dash....there's too much merch of her to go around! I think RD is the new Pinkie Pie xD I hope they also don't do a Pinkie Pie again either!
I want to see something not from the show, like the past G3 exclusives. An art pegasus or unicorn or even alicorn would be amazing! I just hope it's brushable!
Past exclusives I loved the :muffin: exclusive the best, the pinkie second, and DJ was alright. I never got to buying the Mane-iac pony because I don't like her size or sculpt. I still think its ugly.

Hasbro does seem overly fond of RD.
I'm guessing, based on seeming brony popularity- Rainbow Dash-Alternative Future. Probably FS size/brushable wearing accessories.

I wonder if this year's exclusive will be a brushable or something from Guardians of Harmony. Maybe a set of fan favorites done in that style?
I also wonder if there will be any other MLP exclusives besides what Hasbro puts out. Last year there were those baseball ponies. Maybe The Loyal Subjects will have one for their upcoming G1 Action Vinyls? Maybe a Funko?

I thought Chicken Pinkie Pie was really clever, actually. The costume was very well made, the toy was technically different from other Pinkie Pies (different eyes), and the packaging was clever.
I'll put it this way: she might not have been the MOST exciting, but I would take her over D.J. with rhinestones weirdly glued to her legs any day. :P

Yeah, I thought so too! Clever and kinda funny! And surprisingly well made. It killed me to toss the box actually, but it just took up way too much space.
I do wonder how they decide what to do for the exclusive...

I did kind of like Chicken Pinkie if I am honest - she was different, funny and I didnt feel the need to add her to my collection - so that was an all round win for me :)
I do hope for something interesting and exciting but I also admit that if its still main 6 at least I wont feel the need to try and track her down. Although with the last few years and the apparent volume of exclusives available...I dont think its as much of an issue to obtain one if you want it as it used to be in years gone by.

For sure whatever it is they decide on- I think that it is a safe bet that there will be PLENTY available in the HasbroToyShop after the SDCC. The exclusives usually pop up a week or two later and Hasbro has in general been making most of its SDCC exclusive editions quite large.

If the Wonderbolts are getting more exposure, I wonder if there is a chance a set of Wonderbolts can be the TRU exclusive this year: RD, Spitfire, Soarin (or not, he's a boy pony after all), Surprise, Fleetfoot(?), and I know there are more I don't know the names of. They seem to be going the painted details for the box set nowadays and TRU did have Shadowbolt Dash.
I can't believe spitfire hasn't been released as a brushables yet....
