My apologies if this thread already exists, but I like the"Ponies you should like, but..." thread (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,378136.0.html) very much, so let's turn it around! :D Which ponies are everything you dislike about a pony, but still catch your attention for some reason?
For me it's Star Dancer! I really dislike that pose, and usually pink ponies with blue or blue/greenish hair are the ones in a set I don't really want (Princess Primrose, Baby Softsteps, Baby Schoolbag, Firefly, you get the idea), but for some reason Star Dancer always screams "WANT!" XD
I usually also dislike pink ponies with yellow hair because they look like sweaty blondes (especially Tappy, that pose isn't really helping either XD ), but for some reason Baby Mischief is one of my favourite ponies ever! :heart:

G3 Pinkie Pie. I'm not a big fan of pink ponies but somehow she has become one of my favorites. XD

Any G3! They're mostly pink and I convinced myself that the only ones I want are Denim Blue, Waterfire or maybe Toola-Roola... but everytime I come across one I can't stop thinking "ooooh pretty!"

my first wild g1 find last week was a lovin' kisses from the sweet kisses series. Normally, a horse with lipstick would just look awkward to me, but she's quickly becoming one of my favorites. it probably helps that her lipstick color-changing doesn't work like it used to :lol:

Wigwam-I'm not an orange fan and his colors dont say Native American to me. But boy do I need him! Great symbols too. There's no other pony like him.
Sea Breeze-Didn't like her or her set at first but she grew on me, now I have to have her gorgeous self. Love her symbols and the Locket pose is my favorite pegasus pose.
Hula Hula-I didn't like her color or her eyeshadow, then I saw a photo on ebay and she's become one of my favorite unicorns! I love her eyeshadow too and she turned me around on the Tropicals, so awesomely 80s!
Yum Yum-I didnt think lilac went with neon yellow green hair and the Rosedust pose is boring. However saw a pic on ebay and she became my very first Flutter. I love her to bits. Her color combo is the coolest!
Wish I May and Wish-I-Might-Valentine's Day is my bday and I've grown to loathe the cutesy heart and pink/red schemes. Because I am not a fan of either by themselves, but these girls sure are pretty! I wouldn't mind having them.

Curlylocks-I would never have bought such a "plain pony" I totally prefer Braided Beauty Ringlets and Pretty Vision and I'm not big on the Surprise pose. But my boyfriend pestered me into getting her and I'm so glad he did. She was my first BnG and she's really cute and not plain at all!
Blushie caught my eye at a swapmeet and I squealed at how cute she was. My aunt bought her for me. For someone who hates pink, I sure do love pink ponies!
SHS Sundazzle ponies-I don't like Sweetheart Sisters, they're boring. But I love the neon set and totally want them, ironically, its the orange one I love most. Go figure.
Love in a Mist-I reeeeally want this girl! She's so pretty!
Princess Misty-I really don't like the Moondancer pose, but Princess Misty is gorgeous!

Mountain Boy Lightening. What an amazing pony!!! Great pose great colors great symbol! Love him.... But I shouldn't because he's so $$$$$$! :P

Oh, I bet. One day he just made me fall in love with him. Its my dream to get him with his headdress. :lovey: Feathers and a Nativre American patterened bandana might suit him too,since he's way past my limit with it on. My boyfriend is part Native American, he grumbles whenever I bring up owning a Wigwam with his headdress.

At least the regular Groom & Style collector pose AJ is not expensive xd. Unlike some of the non Hong Kong versions of AJ out there.
For me...I'm going to go with Magic Star, and it's because as a child I hated the Tootsie pose. But as a child I was also obsessed with Magic Star. And then I discovered they were in the same pose, and I was like...O.O NOOOO!
But the silly thing with it is that, although the US Magic Star is in a rearing pose, and I like that pose, to me that pony isn't Magic Star. She's some alternate imitation lookalike pony, but she's not the one I grew up with. Not even deflocked or Brazilian. So although I really like the rearing pose, and I never did like the Tootsie pose, I really came to love Magic Star from the Movie Star line. And, because of it, I guess, I came to like the pose more.
I read the title of this thread first of all as though it was going to be full of instructions as to why you really should not like a certain pony, because it defies logic to do so xD.

I shouldn't like sea ponies but I seem warmed up to them now. I dont have alot but I do have some. Though after seeing how much fun my daughter has with her one sea pony I like them better.
I also shouldn't like BBE's but I have a complete set of them. Sweetie Pie is my favorite one.
Those strange eye lash princess ponies I have both. They look strange but I think they got character.
I used to not care for odd ball ponies but now I got a zoo full of them. :)

Galaxy. I'm not particularly fond of twinkle eyes (the only other one I own is Fizzy;) or her color scheme. But something about her is special. :)

G4 Pearlized Cherry Berry! I was frustrated when I saw the pearlized line; I like ponies that look like they could be I'm the show, but Cherry Berry looks like a cute fruit roll up. I guess in the same vein, the water cutie Diamond Mint, but I kind of pretend she's a crystal pony.

But colors that Punch You in the Eye are the best kind! :lol: Plus, all Baby Glory posed ponies are cute.

G4 Pearlized Cherry Berry! I was frustrated when I saw the pearlized line; I like ponies that look like they could be I'm the show, but Cherry Berry looks like a cute fruit roll up. I guess in the same vein, the water cutie Diamond Mint, but I kind of pretend she's a crystal pony.

I would say G4 talking princess twilight.She's not show accurate in the least, a little creepy when she blinks, her voice (especially her french voice) is horrible but i don't know why i love her.

Heart Throb! Normally I'm completely nonplussed by pink ponies but something about her is really endearing to me. It must be the pose!

ok mine would be sweet stuff from G1 era
I didn't like the pose and I was compared to her and that just made it even worse at the time ya dee ya da... So then I came across one who was mint and thought I need her in my collection (not that particular one) but still have a harsh memory towards her...

Those symbol less Nirvana Brazilian ponies. I mean come on why love ponies without any symbols? That's half the fun! I dunno, something about them though makes them so darn cute. I would get them if I could justify the price for w pony with nothing there. :lol:

Up Up and Away-I don't like pink on pink and think Pinkie Pie is bland, but for some reason I love Up Up and Away, even though they may as well be the same ponies. Especially the baby. I wish the TAF babies weren't so expensive.

I also agree with you, they ate our wallet and spit it out. they are just sooo cute! I love them all. If only hasbro would make more I would be in heaven.
Munchy at first I just didnt care for food themed ponies but, then I was like shes the last pony I need for the set so I had to get her. I mean not many ponies got hot dogs and hamburgers on them. I also think baby custom Munchies are so cute.

Glory. I really dislike the Moondancer pose (makes the poor unicorns look overweight) but there's something about her colour scheme that makes her so lovably regal to me.
Also, Tales Bright Eyes. I also dislike the Tootsie pose, and while it doesn't suit Bright Eyes' inquisitive and knowledgeable personality, I just can't imaine her in any other pose (Bright Eyes being my favorite of the girls in the show is another huge factor in this! I also really love her comic personality - it seems to fit her pose better - a shy but intelligent character is what I see in her toy form).

The G1 'Brush N Grow' ponies!
I shouldn't like them because I have a weird thing about the angle of their heads. Of course, they have to be that way so you can twist them.
But in person, they are sooooo beautiful to me. I'm in love with their hair - I could play with it all day!

I know! Its so thick and lush, Ringlets and Pretty Vision's colors are a striking contrast with their bodies! I'm thinking I may need Braided Beauty.

Snuzzle! I love her, but I'm not usually a fan of collector's pose OR the color pink, and she incorporates both! :)

Tootie Tails. I'm not a fan of the eye shadow look either. but she hangs around with Shady and de-flocked Angel in my collection, they are all large-pose tropical themed ponies and they work together really well.
Teddi. Soppy and also a pesky Magic Message with vulnerable symbols, but her symbols are intact. Like Tootie Tails she's the only one I have from that set, but she nurses the babies during the day when the Moms are out doing what they do. I love the pink streak and she's really grown on me.

Lollipop. Just didn't like her to begin with. Another lollipop pony and I never know what to do with her hair. It's not curly and it's not straight. But my sister gave her to me and she really grew on me. She hangs out with the other foodie ponies in my collection. I only have her and Angel in that pose.

I sometimes buy baity ponies for cheap that I shouldn't really like, then I modify or restore them and and end up falling in love!
I didn't like sparkle ponies to begin with, haircuts or cartoony symbols. Now I have Sky Rocket and Sunspot. Sky Rocket got a mohican at some point which I can live with, she looks cool as anything. Sunspot has frizzy tinsel and I hate the cartoon face, so I will need to work on her tinsel and and paint the centre of her symbol with gold paint to match her tinsel. She has a few minor flaws so I think a minor customisation is justified. I'll re-pink her as pink as I can get it as well.
Baby Glider - I really dislike ponies in nappies but she is a purple unicorn so when I found a cheap one with a haircut I just had to get her. I've given her a poofy yarn re-hair in white and fluorescent yellowand put her in a tutu, now she looks ace.
Candy Apple - I really dislike the candy cane hair. So when I found a baity one with no hair I just had to have her! I was playing with the idea of re-hairing her but I found a Grooming Parlour bonnet which the paint had worn off, re-painted the flowers yellow to match the symbols and put a spare rainbow tail in her. She looks so cute like that she can stay that way. One day I may do a yarn re-hair if I can get some pastel colours. The Lickety in that photo' had really horrid hair, I think someone had overdone it with straightening irons. For some reason I wanted to save her and got back on it with straightening irons doing about three strands at a time. She has also had a trim and faded completely to white but I just boil permed a wave back into it and tied it with a ribbon. Those two run a fairground kiosk together.

I forgot about Sportstime! That pose was such a bad idea (especially for ponies like Sweet Stuff XD ), and I hate everything about sports. Maybe it helps that she's in one of my favourite colour schemes, but I just adore her! Even before she fell into my hands I really wanted her.
I'd like to complete the set one day (I just need Musictime and Paintingtime), which also weird, because the other three aren't favourites or anything. And it's extra weird, because for some reason I'm always drawn to school themed things (ponies, books, series), while I always HATED school. Maybe it's some sort of longing for a school time I never had? I really have no idea. XD

Hikari Funko rainbow dashes... G4 RD is my most disliked pony in all of MLP universe, I cant stand her. However I love her design and the poses for the Hikaris are cute! Plus rainbow and glitter designs on any pony= I'm sold! I own 5 of them including that rare NYCC one! I want the gold glitter one next. Husband wants to burn them and is surprised I like them, he doesn't get the point but they are pretty.
I also don't like metallic ponies, yet I've got a huge collection of metallic G4 minis for some reason LOL.

DJ! ^.^ I am really not a fan of that whole set (Dance 'n' Prance set)
But DJ is different as she means a lot to me because I remember playing with her a lot when I was little, plus I like the blue & yellow combo. (I still don't really like the accessories though)
Regret selling her all those years ago... luckily one is on her way back to me finally :biggrin:

I'm not really a fan of the pony friends- I think that's because they were new to me, as I'd grown out of ponies by the time they were released, or they weren't released in the UK (??).
The first time I saw Creamsicle and the Llama, I was like "WHAT are THEY??!!!!" I thought they looked like mutated ponies!! They just looked so alien to me!
Anyway, for some reason, I find Zig Zag completely adorable!! I'm quite partial to Spunky too. (Spunky- titter!!! Makes me smile everytime!)

I saw the new G4 minis today broke down and bought one because it was on sale and so cute. I DO NOT like equestia girls so I have no clue why I bought it. oh well, I bet what won me over was the cute little bubble gum thing that it came with. I am a sucker for gum ball machines.

I love everything apart from her pose - I may make myself a G3 custom sometime, or maybe a G1 in the Powder pose.

Sparkle Pony Merry May, her head bugs me, but that translucent green, triple sun symbol and those pretty pink eyes are gorgeous! I own her in fact but she vanished and being so tiny-guh!

Mine would be G3 Seaspray, as I don't normally love nautical themes, but once I seen her on Strawberry Reef, I was in love! A super kind friend of mine has a nice double of her, and sent her to live with me.

Aww, that's so sweet. I love Sea Spray. The colors in her hair complement each other beautifully and make her one of a kind. The orange sea star adds a tropical splash of warmth.

Off the top of my head Sweet Song. I'm not a fan of pastel purple/lilac OR pastel pink, so it's a double no. But her adorable CM makes it easy for me to forget her colours look awful to me, and she is one of my favourite G3/4's.

G3.5 Winter Sweetie Belle. She's a G3.5 for one, and her colour scheme is so unoriginal, and I usually hate tinsel in ponies. But... gosh darn it, she's just too cute when I hold her in person! What a small, dainty little thing. :lovey:
