What are we looking at here? More Target exclusives, maybe, given the resemblance to the Power Pony releases? But I don't seem to recognize either of these outfits from the show. Pinkie looks kind of businessy, and Fluttershy is... a swim instructor, maybe?
Also interesting is that they both have the same lighting bolt symbol. Fluttershy's is obvious--it's on her rear hooves--but you have to look carefully to notice the one on Pinkie's necktie. Hmmm.
(For the record, I am not loving those colors on Fluttershy, but Pinkie is kind of cute dressed up all formal. Yes, yes, obviously they should be fabric clothes, let's move on.)

Interesting, maybe an episode later in the season will help explain this? I like how pinkie looks though, cute and formal.

They're the original Wonderbolts leaders, the ones that everyone dressed up as in the Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3 episode. Nice thought!

Well these are neat! I'm tired of the mane 6 but hey at least its something a little bit different. I wish the outfits were made out of cloth x)
I could see these as Target exclusives, hopefully the ones there now go on a hardcore sale! I still need the fashion styles comic book ponies but can't shell out $60 for them.

Sigh. I'm so tired of the mane 6. I won't be picking these up. Now if they were to make the actual Wonderbolts, I could get behind that.
Well, I guess that will just be more money I can save for other things. At least there are new ponies coming in the regular line.

They're cute, but I probably won't pick them up. Too many mane six re-releases. At least it's something pretty different! If a Rainbow Dash turns up, might pick one up for my army.

As much as I loved that episode... they wore those costumes for about 2 seconds, and to no avail. It's different than the Power Ponies outfits, which actually had significance... it just seems random to me. Why not do Scare Master or Hearth's Warming Eve themed instead?
I might pick up a Twilight, depending on how they make her, but otherwise I'll be passing on these.

That's what I was thinking too!
I am surprised that this would be a new line (like Mrbrightsky said, they wore those for about 2 seconds in the episode) rather than a more popular or notable set of costumes. But it seems like a cute idea. Hey! Maybe we'll get Opal and Angel dressed up as Celestia and Luna!

Meh, those really don't look well done. Actual clothing would be so much cooler or at least a better paint job.

*groans* No thanks, I wasn't interested in the Power Ponies line (except Maneiac) and I'm not looking forward to these either unless they pull something original.
Rather than re-release ponies with painted bodies Hasbro should release clothing sets so you can dress up your ponies in outfits from the show.

Can't they at LEAST give them some cheap plastic clothes? The painted thing worked for the Power Ponies, but man... This is just Hasbro being lazy.

Hahaha, oh dear :lol: No interest from me on these ones either. Those are definitely odd choices for designs, especially considering some of the gorgeous costumes the characters have worn in the show... idk why they'd pick these ones. Painted on clothes are bleh, in the first place. At least some of the CMM and Rainbow Power details make sense to be painted on the body.

I wondered that too. Weird. Also I wish they had put RD in her uniform instead of just throwing in her usual release.
Edit: Oh, I just blew up the picture and I see she does have a bit of uniform painted on her! Well that's cool. Kinda weird that they failed to paint the goggle bands on any of them though....

Okay so USUALLY I will wait out the exclusive sets to be marked down on clearance, like the Power Ponies FS set for example, but I have to snatch this set up as soon as its in stores!

I don't got for these sets because of no space for FS ponies really and while I like a boy pony... I know it's just a reused mold of the female pegasus pony :( Much like what they did with FS Shining Armor orz

I wish I didn't have to buy a huge set for just Soarin and Spitfire. I'll have to wait for a sale or buy them off eBay. But good for them for not making it a whole other set of the main six.

Oh man! That's actually a great set for me, the only pony I have from it is Rainbow Dash. Definitely picking this up if I see it. Do you think it will be out by August? I'm in the states by then, and they never stock this sort of stuff in the UK.

But seriously well done! In love with Soarin and Spitfire!!!! I can't believe we are finally getting another boy, it's seriously a miracle!
Only thing I would change would be to remove Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie and replace with either Fleetfoot, Surprise, Thunderlane, or Cloudchaser.

I'm curious to compare this Muffins with the SDCC prototype / final releases. The face and Cutie Marks are probably different from pony to pony, but yeah, in a nutshell, this does make SDCC muffins less "special." MLP SDCC exclusives officially don't matter anymore, I guess?

I have not taken mine out of her SDCC box, and since they up the brightness of display photos.. but compared to both SDCC Muffins image on MLP Merch with WB Muffins image also there.. the WB version looks like she might have brighter hair, her bubbles are smaller.. I cannot just plastic color because mine irl looks a bit more purple than the promo image for the SDCC one so that is going to be hard to say

I can't believe Soarin is getting a toy release before Big Mac. I'm not going to complain too loudly though because I do love Soarin and never thought I'd get an official toy of him. I'm surprised how much I love conductor Pinkie Pie too. The little hat is just so cute.

That's what I'm thinking too...I looked up both Spitfire and Soarin' and no brushables of any type showed up... sucks, because that basically mean $50-$60 gotta be spent on 2 ponies while the other 4 just sit there doing nothing :/
I wonder what's up with the India thing though...

Saw these all yesterday in the UK in the Argos catalogue. Got the little set of Pinkie and Fluttershy but didn't grab the big set yet. That might have to be next pay day!

Hey, a set I actually LIKE! I was getting real sick and tired of seeing the power pony set sitting around here not selling. >_<
...speaking of those though, did we ever establish if the paint can be acetoned off? I'd like a non-Wonderbolt :muffin:, but could never convince myself to fork over the cash for the SDCC one.
I like all the others the way they are though. :biggrin: Love the shades, especially.

The Power Ponies and TRU exclusive Daring were never released in Australia so I doubt this one ever will be.

$59, just like the last set. So roughly $10 per pony. Not bad at all!

Found all 3 sets - brushables, blindbags and FS - today at Target, as well as a ton of other new stuff, like the new train set, blindbag library set, articulated FS, regular FS, Magical Scenes and new Shine Brights.
I grabbed the FS 6 pack, and they're super cute! Some qc issues with loose heads and mismatched manes/tails, but nothing new or too bad. I'll be selling everyone except Soarin and Spitfire with their accessories, so hit me up if you're interested.

As for Muffin Horse's likeness to her previous release, there are several noticeable differences on the new one: her symbol is smaller and less detailed, her plastic seems a tiny bit bluer, her hair is brighter yellow, and her eyes are yellow, compared to SDCC's orange eyes.

Thanks for the comparison! I was wondering how she would compare to the SDCC release.
At least it's not just open eyes versus closed eyes. XD
