I just saw a comment in another thread about someone taking a pony as a "travel companion".
It was something I definitely did when I was a kid. Now that I was reminded of the idea, I have yet to decide who is going to come along with me...
Is this something you do?
Is there one pony/toy that always travels with you, or do they take turns? :)

I know I did for a bit with my G4 Muffins, but I stopped when I saw she was getting dirty haha.

Aww. Yeah that's a potential problem I'm thinking about. Do you have any photos of Muffins out and about?
-
I do, I'll have to dig around my laptop :3
-
I carry around a blind bag pony in my bag. I can't remember her name since I don't really collect blind bags. I just randomly decided to buy one one day and she's been coming along with me everywhere. The rest are for display since I'd be worried about getting them dirty or messing up hair.

I often have ponies on trips. I actually just got back from Austria, and I took one of my Tropical Breeze family with me. I have some photos I must sort out...
I think it's fun :D Though in recent years I've generally bought a pony on holiday and they've then come exploring with me. This is the first time in a while I took a G1 one with me.
-
G3 Shenanigans is my traditional pony travel companion. She even went to Ponycon UK AND on my honeymoon to Bermuda! She has her own outfits too!
In 2014 I was gifted a G1 Flurry. She also now travels with me too, and I text pics with her back to her childhood owner.
G4 blind bag rainbow princess Twilight and Flash Sentry go on car trips with me and I have a G3 ponyville Rainbow Dash on my car dashboard.
I <3 ponies!

Baby Surprise! I have a small army of her, and the not-so-mint one is the well-travelled baby.

Love this topic !
Another way to take holiday pictures.
The 'not-so-mint' baby Suprise is finally the luckiest ! He's visiting incredible places in the world.
Mr Bean and Wonka are so funny ! They prefer bedrooms, it seems :P
Well, I do the same thing too, so here's Hamley's the Hamster ('Hamley's' because he's a HAMster from Hamley's in London, very original name), he comes with me in every trip for something like 10 years !
Here, at Chambord Castle. He feels like a king.

Unfortunately, he recently lost an eye (he met my dog and they fought...), but I stitched him a closed eye and he's now ready to go again, as a pirate he now is.

They get severe jet lag and sleep through the whole vacation!
-
I usually take either my G4 Minty or my G4 Cheerilee with me, though they spend a great deal of time in my bag and I've yet to take them anywhere 'fun'.
-
I used to pick any pony that looked like they needed an adventure off of my shelf. It was usually Skydancer, or Tex. More recently, since I'm a little nervous of losing a pony, I've been in search of a travel companion. At the moment, though, me and my sister will pick a Shining Armor from her army and take him.

I have G1 Baby Drummer :)
Here he is in Berlin, it was only 2 weeks ago <3
He was / is one of my pony clothing models, wearing one of the baby suits most of the time. Since our trip was close to easter I let him wear the bunny dress <3 He has one chewed ear which made nobody want him back then unless for bait. But since he looks so cute I could not just let him sit in a bait box. Well and now hes my travel companion <3 Ive had others before, for example my first ever G1 Fizzy always joins me on trips to pony friends or cons and such.

I have a G4 Bumblesweet mini that lives on my keychain at the moment. She's getting a bit stained from my jeans, but I have another on the shelf so I don't particularly mind. These blind bags are really just about the right size for a key fob.
-
I have a g4 Applejack that I like to take on trips. I bought her in Switzerland and so far she's explored London and come with me to Belgium, Norway and the Czech Republic. I also have a Cherries Jubilee who's come with me on a couple of journeys. I have some cute pictures of her poking her head out of my rucksack and looking out of train and hotel windows.
-
 For me...pretty much all my plush are fair game for traveling. I get a bit uncomfortable sleeping in a bed that's not my own when I travel, so taking something from home makes me feel better. My 4DE Twilight Sparkle hasn't been anywhere exciting. Just spent a few days with me at my grandma's house once. The hard part with this method is that it's hard to pick just one to take with me!
-
I used to take a small rainbow dash plushie with me everywhere. Then I got a service dog and he doesn't like the plushies. He growls at them when I give them attention. Other ponies are ok. Just the plushies. I keep them on the top shelf now.

You're brave! I'd be afraid of her falling off the rail. ^_^;

Your pony, his story, and the bunny suit are all very sweet! :) I love stories of love, such as this!
-
I have an extra Pinkie Pie minifigure, that travels with me everywhere I go in my pocket. If I travel somewhere a bit farther away from my home, I usually take one or two ponies with me just in case a nice photo opportunity comes (since in these cases I always have my camera with me too).
-
Trinity, LOL, she was wedged on the railing very tightly, no chance to fall off. On Monday she will go to Disney Hongkong with me.
-
Pony-wise, hanging from my car's rear-view mirror is a 2012 McDonalds Cheerilee which of course is present for all in, and out of, town misadventures.
Before tha, when I went to conventions, I always carried with me a Transformers: Cybertron Crosswise figure. Near as I can tell he it was one of only 2 TFs at the 2014 Pony Fair, where I accidently left it at the hotel bar prior to the Hall of Fame dinner (he was safe behind the bar when I got back).
-
Great topic! I almost always had a travel companion with me since we were always out and about (my dance recitals, visiting family, vacation, etc). If it was a car trip, I would take one of my smaller Gundam action figures, usually GM Cannon II and/or GM Sniper. If I was at a dance recital or rehersaI it would be a while before I had to do anything since my parents helped set up everything, so would take my motorized Shield Liger and play with him in the halls of the school we were at.
When I got into ponies in high school, G3 Morning Glory became my companion. Nowadays I've been taking my one Zelf, Cyril, with me since he's the only one I took off the card to play with XD. So far he's helped me cat-sit at my parents when I wasn't able to being the hubs.
-
Once a pony gets to my house it generally doesn't leave again.. But sometimes when I find a pony in the wild I will tuck her into my purse and she will do the rest of my errands for the day with me. Sometimes we go to lunch.

Those are awesome, Ponytails! XD
-
Cellyzombie always comes places with me, all of which is documented on her facebook page :D She's got a scuffy nose with all the travelling - it looks permanently dirty so is obviously ingrained in the plastic.

I love seeing your guys photos. I generally don't take my ponies travelling, but I've taken some of my toys around town for photoshoots and my daughter and I will sometimes bring Transformers grocery shopping. XD
-
Awesome photos! ^.^
As an adult, I don't take my ponies with me anywhere, but as a kid, I took a few pony buddies with me everywhere.. That's how they ended up getting lost from the herd.
-
I love the pictures Ponytails!
-
I have this Applejack that I take with me when I'm traveling she has been with me to Vegas, Yosemite, Palm Springs, and various closer locations. She also happens to be the first pony I ever bought.

Well for now, the TEEEENY tiny Glory brushable- I keep forgetting to take her out of my bag!

LOL I have had a tarot deck in my purse for like literally three months because I keep forgetting to take it out. XD;;
-
Well, you never do know when you might want to read the Tarot for someone-
OR brush your teeny tiny Glory pony (I love the brush that came with her)
-
Not a pony, but I do have a tiny bunny I found in a toy shop - I think was 5 cents. It's so tiny, literally would fit on a penny. I should take a pic. He's tucked into a pocket of my purse.
-
I take my favorite American Girl doll with me when I travel long distances. Sometimes I'll toss a pony into my purse when I'm out and about for a comfort item (for anxiety reasons).
-
Mine isn't a pony, but I've had it since I was a child :) A little Hamtaro I got from a capsule machine in Japan. She's in my bag for everyday journeys, as well as vacations. Here she is, looking frosty in Wisconsin.

I went to Hongkong Disneyland this Monday. Really disappointed, can't recommend it at all. But Baby Surprise seems to have enjoyed the trip!

I gotta say I love my Iphone, I had no idea the photos would be that nice! :P
-
Nice! I'm taking my new travel companion Rarity with me when I go to Disneyland Paris later this year. Hope I get some great shots... I've done a test run, and her first trip will be to the gold coast in June, then we're off to Europe in October, stopping by UK ponycon, so she'll be visiting friends, too!
-
Awww Baby Surprise looks like she's having a blast!

Here we go, finally got pics of my tiny little bunny. Here he's sitting with a pegasus keychain I got from MA a few years back, he hangs out on my ID badge for work. Literally fits on a penny.

I have a Pinkie Pie who travels in my laptop case :) Sometimes she tumbles out at business meetings...always makes an interesting topic of conversation.
Sometimes other random ponies go to work if I am based at my local office :) Just a random pick...depending on how I feel.
