Title: Help Storing Ponies??
Post by: Rainbow Revolver on March 14, 2016, 10:28:02 AM
I've recently started running out of display space at the moment and now I have about 40+ ponies that have to place to go! How do you folks on here store your ponies (mostly G1)??

Dressers and cabinets, though many prefer Ikea Billy bookcases, since they maximize display space pretty well, particularly with a few risers, are fairly inexpensive and let you see your collection.

I rotate the ponies I have on display every few weeks, and keep the un-displayed ones stored in a couple of big plastic boxes, the kind you can get cheaply from the supermarket or even Ikea.  Before going in each pony gets placed inside a sandwich bag, although I don't seal the bags, so the ponies' plastic can breathe.  Then I just put the lid loosely on the box and store it the cupboard.

When I store my ponies, especially in plastic, I pop silica packets in to keep the moisture out, you can get a hundred or so at a time on ebay for a couple of bucks!

Anywhere safe and dry. Please don't store in sheds or unfinished attics (which get hot hot hot). Also watch wood- some woods will damage PVC plastic (like oak)

Rotating is definitely the way to go to make the most of them. If the other ponies are being packed away, as the others have said, either pop in some silica or make sure they have plenty of air if they are in plastic. And find space in a room ... I made ther mistake of storing my ponies in plastic in the attic. A few of the 1st and 2nd year g1 ladies are now suffering mold growth insid ethem from where they most likely got all sweaty in the summer :( Infact I am moving them down into my room, and I am going to go with tissue paper this time.
