Hi I'm lostpony and I'm new here.
Not to step on anypony's toes, but I feel the last pony music thread fizzled because of too many negative comments and not enough music links.

I used to have a page for G1 music from all over on my old site, though I don't any more. I hope the thread stays nice, because pony music is fun and it's something across generations. I'm sure someone will post stuff from G1 animation, so I won't. Instead I'll be a bit European...

I don't know a lot of other generation music, although I have two fun Dutch G2 CDs with songs somewhere. I think one is on Youtube somewhere with Korean subtitles, which I find really really odd...I think this one is Ponyvriendjes (apologies Dutch people if I spelt that wrong). I can't find the other one because I don't remember it's name, but they were on mail offer in the early years of G2. My Dutch trading partner then got them for me.

The only G4 music I know are the songs from EQG Rainbow Rocks that Adagio and co sing, which remind me a lot of Jem...although I am aware that there is a CD of something or other in Japan that I keep seeing on auctions...

All threads on our forum are open to everyone, and all of our members are welcome to their opinions as long as they are expressed in a civil manner. We may have different opinions on what pony music is and the genres we enjoy, and that is just fine :) Also, please remember to keep all links appropriate for the Arena.
I always give the same answer to these threads, but NotaACleverPony and SoGreatAndPowerful are the two most amazing brony musicians. If it wasn't for sgap I probably wouldn't love G1 as much as I do today, and NACP was one of the first brony musicians I found. SGAP also has done some wonderful collabs and was loved enough that a tribute album was made for him. He hasn't made a new song in years, and I believe NCAP has either moved on or has stopped making music all together. Many of NCAP's songs were inspiration for my non-pony related writings.

Bukeno, I was going to mention most of the Griffinilla songs you suggested too! I really like his whole OC pony series.
SGAP is definitely worth a listen. His work is very relaxing. I kind of like that people related to the show to that degree.

I adore griffinilla as a person and musician oh my gosh. Friendship is Witchcraft is my favorite pony parody series and every last song he makes for the show is catchy and memorable. I admit I haven't liked much of his recent non-pony stuff despite liking the series he's been basing them off of, but that's just me.
I watched his livestreams of him playing FNAF World, he's so funny. I know FIW got a C&D but he did release another episode of horse women so maybe there's hope he'll want to do more.

Generally not, although he has a couple of episodes where he's central. The Wouldbe Dragon Slayer, where someone tries to kill him, is the one that springs to mind. And Spike's Search, when he's looking for other dragons..and realises he's better off with the ponies :)
In the UK we had other dragons, too - six to be precise - and in the UK comics they, Spike, and the pets from other ponies (the two kittens, duck soup and Brandy the dog) formed the Paws and Claws Club...they had their own mini adventure things going on at times :) Spike in the original canon outside the animation came with the castle and the "Queen" pony Majesty...which is pretty familiar to me to the idea of spike/Twilight Sparkle/Celestia/castle etc...

There's an Applejack in G1, G3 and G4 but the G3 one looks different. Applejack in G4 is influenced by the fact G1's AJ was a really popular character, I think. She's only in the one animated special though.
All the G4 core ponies are based on the animated characters of old ponies somewhat. Just Hasbro had copyrights for particular names and so on, so none of them look the same as they would have done in old MLP. I believe it's
Rarity = Sparkler (although she looks like a cross between Sparkler and Glory, really, she has Sparkler's symbol but Glory's colour scheme.)
Pinkie Pie = Surprise
Fluttershy = Posey
Twilight Sparkle = Twilight
Rainbow Dash = Firefly

I love all g4 songs, but my favorites must be This Day Aria, You'll Play your Part, The Magic Inside, Awesome as I Want to Be, Smile Smile Smile , The Pony i Want to Be and Light of Your Cutie Mark.In g3 i love That's What i Love about Christmas , Shine On, So Far Apart and Wish You Were Here.I only watched the two specials for g1 but i love Call Upon the Sea Ponies (just too catchy) and Dressed Like a Dream.

I recommend that you take a look at the very first My Little Pony special also known as "Rescue at Midnight Castle" and "Firefly's Adventure."

You will find that there are a lot of elements of G4 that were taken from it. And it's my personal favorite mlp cartoon, bar none.
I love pony music! From g1 "Call upon the Sea ponies" to "Smile" from FiM. I really like the Apple family song also.

NotACleverPony had some great work as well before his passing. And then there's that symphonic metal album, which isn't my favorite genre but it is just downright amazing. Wish I could remember its name though.
