Hi there! There has been a message waiting for me to open it for about a year, and I can't find this mysterious message. If I could find it, I would just open it!
Can you see it? If you can, will you let me know where it is? If you can't, is there any way to make the little pop-up that tells me that I have a message stop popping up?
I would really appreciate it- I've tried to fix this on my own, but I'm not even sure what to fix.

This has happened to others before. I really have no idea how to solve it. The only idea that ever occurred to me is that one might need to use the "prune messages" function. Delete all personal messages older than ___ days. I hesitate to suggest it because I don't know if it will work, plus all the other messages that are older than ___ days will be deleted as well.
If you have old messages you don't mind being deleted, give it a try and let us know if it worked. However, don't do it if you don't want to.

Bummer- I hoped there might be a simple fix!
I'll go through and look through the messages, but I'm pretty sure this started last summer (MN Pony Meet planning messages, that's why I remember!).

Could it be, that the Sender has delete the message, so you got an email, saying there is a pm for you, but then the Sender has delete it and you can't get it?

I guess it's possible, but I don't even begin to know how to fix that!
It isn't the end of the world, but the "new message" message is just annoying every time.
