So, long story short. I always have next to my PC a Twilight Sparkle toy. A common brushable one.
My kitten just seem to love it and always steal it from my desk, so I deside just give it to him. Now he is super happy with his new toy and play a lot with it (I think that whas he love the most is the hair!)
So, did you give ponies to your pets? Obviously I will never give one of my "Good" ponies to any of my cats, but the baits ones sound like a good toy for them.
Also, I skip for giving plastic toys to my dogs. Im worry that they could eat them, but cats only throw them from one side to another, so it seem a lot safer (I know they also can pull the hair away, in that case is only thing to cut it)

Pretty much all of my pets have enjoyed ponies! ^-^
My cat loved ponies (it really is something about their hair with cats), so I gave him this baby ballerina because she was his favorite:

I also had two pet rats years ago who loved to play with the little McDonald's ponies:

And now I have ducks who also like to play with ponies. But they only get fakies because ducks get their toys really gross. lol! (This was when they were ducklings and still lived in the house part of the day, they are all grown up and outside now.)

Haha, noooooo. Mind you, my pet (passed away now) was a ker-ay-zee Jack Russel Terrier, who was affectionately known at the pet-stay place as wacko jacko. I've never owned a cat, I suppose they're a fair bit gentler than dogs.
-
My dogs would either chew or pee on a pony if I gave one to them. I do collect ponies that remind me of pets I've had throughout my life, though. On the other hand, my Schnoodle, D'Argo, use to adore Zuzu pets.
-
My cat Slick used to have his own fakie so he could chew on the hair. I took it away when he vomited up most of the tail. The cats aren't allowed in the pony room anymore.
-
I have never gave my pets, 2 cats and a little doggie, a pony....
I think my oldest cat Mysty, couldn't care less if I trow a pony in her basket...
Lilo the other cat...I think she's going to lick the hair...or she would play soccer with it!
My doggie, Kyra, would chew on the pony to know if it would squeek...she REALLY love squeeky toys! Every toy I gave her what do not squeek get destroyed...but if it makes sound she is very gentle with it....weird dog!!!
-
Nah. My dog has no interest in them thankfully, my cat will sometimes walk on my shelves and knock down ALL the ponies like a diva, but she doesn't seem to want to play with them. My plushies however sometimes find their way mysteriously under the couch with loose threads... I blame cat
-
My cat stole a G3 Rainbow Dash. She never had any interest in any of my other ponies just this one second hand Dash. She rubs against it and plays with it but doesn't chew it.
-
My cat is of the "sometimes uses her flicking tail to knock ponies off the shelf variety", but doesn't play with them. She sometimes lets me put some on top of her though! :P
Once when I was at my grandma's house her dog grabbed ahold of a Trixie plushie I had brought with me and chewed on it. It managed to survive mostly unscathed, but man was I mad! (At the same time it had also chewed to pieces a little water syringe thing I was supposed to use to keep the incisions from my wisdom teeth removal clean, bad dog...)
I used to have a pet rat that would play with the hair on them sometimes, she really liked fuzzy or hairy things.
-
This is such a cute thread. I love all of the stories and pics. My dog has never seemed interested in ponies. Even if they're laying on the floor, he doesn't seem to notice them.
-
 one of my cats really likes ponies. I don't let her keep any but I let her bat them around when they have not had their spa treatments yet. She doesn't do anything to hurt them- she especially likes G3 ponies and I worry less about them anyway since they're harder plastic.

Hehehehe.. Looks like Ginger is right at home with all the ponies! ^.^
I'm so very glad my feline doesn't like ponies.. If she did though, I'd give her a baity one.
Love this thread too!

They're all so cute! Omg the little chicky...

Miraculously, our cats ignore my ponies, even when they're at a level where they could easily tamper with them. It would be fun to make them a catnip pony to play with, though...
-
Ember has a ritual of rubbing herself against the Unicorns in my herd every night. And then she'll do her best to knock Rarity down.
-
My cat is obsessed with ponies. He likes to pull them off my bookshelves and chew on their hair and rub his head on them. I gave him one once and he wanted the other ponies I had on display.
-
My cat isn't interested in much of anything that she can't eat, so she doesn't do anything with my ponies.

I don't intentionally give ponies to my pets... but my cat LOVES bonding with me in my pony room, and my husky had some fun with a plushie Parasol when she was a pup (Parasol was unharmed!)

I gave my cat Eclipse my blind bag Pinkie Pie because I don't like Pinkie Pie much and had fun watching Eclipse rough her up lol
-
I let the cats bat around the brushes sometimes. ;) They aren't interested in the actual ponies . . . except plush singing G3 Minty, who one of the cats really liked.
-
Definitely, no. I don't want them thinking ponies are ok to play with and have them go for and damage one they aren't supposed to have someday. Cats wouldn't understand if I let them play with one that I'd be upset at them for chewing on others. I have given my cats spare G4 brushes/carts to bat around before though. I planned to not keep them anyway.
-
No, no, a thousand times no.
My primitive breed may be small, but he has that gnawing instinct. He'd probably eat them.
-
My pets have never shown interest in my ponies but I remember taking pictures of my cat w/ some of mine once a long time ago.
I wish I could find them again. : ( It was cute.
Just like this thread!

Not intentionally but if I have a sort out she feels left out and feels the need to try and disguise her self as a pony for some extra love haha

Not intentionally, but my poodle has stole many wingers and chewed up their wings. >_<
-
No but every now and then he'll help himself!
-
Sarge the greyhound does not like to play with ponies. He sniffs, that's about it.
-
Nope - absolutely not. :P
Mainly because my dog, Harry, and I have an agreement.
The ponies are mine - he does not touch. Every other toy in the world is his. He is toy obsessed (mainly soft toys to be fair) but if a soft toy is not available then one which looks like it might squeak will work.
We have got through the last 8 years with this agreement. He will steal everything that looks like it might be a toy...but the ponies are a no.
I know the day I ever gave him a pony, he would consider the pact over and a massacre may take place.

^ This. Furthermore, I would be concerned with them ingesting the hair - stringy material can cause some serious complications!
-
Not really. My cat also loves pony hair, and she tries to play with my ponies occasionally, but when that happens I hand her a fakie and she plays with that until she gets tired of it (then I put it away).
A coworker of mine sold me all of her childhood ponies except one... because she had given that one to her mom's dog when she was a kid and the dog still has it. :/ It was one of a set of newborn twins, and she had given one to the dog just because she "had two of them". I told her that I would still take a chewed up pony (because I wanted to rescue the poor thing from the dog) but she wouldn't give it to me because supposedly the dog just loves it soooo much. I'm still a little bitter about that, if you can't tell.
-
Somewhere I have pictures of Miku playing with my ponies! She likes to take my small funrise plush and make off with them, good thing she can't get into my pony totes otherwise...omg I can't imagine what mess a little ferret would make with pony hair! XD
-
My dog is a rottweiler, so i don't think it would be a good idea...These dogs have a very powerful jaw.Not to mention he likes all kinds of plushies and has already stolen some of mine (not pony plushies though).
-
My cats aren't allowed near ponies ever since Glitter (yes, that is my cat's name) took chunks out of a breezie :(
-
It's probably not a good idea to give them toys with hair because they could swallow it and it could cause a blockage that may need to be surgically removed.
-
My cats have had their fun with pony hair for sure!
-
My cats have a very baity little baby Bouncy. When Cheddar was a kitten, I picked him up and showed him the pony shelf, and after that he buggged me to go up there all the time, so I dug out a baity pony for him, and since he's been happy with that one (he's 2 now). Elsa doesn't really care about ponies, but she likes to sit in the window with them when I take photos.

My dog Moose is really well behaved around my ponies, I have plushies piled in the corner that he never touches even when unattended. He's smart enough that he knows what's mine and what's his. A toy is only his if I offer it to him, then he can do whatever he wants with it.
One day I gave him a fakie and he destroyed it in minutes, he had so much fun ripping and chewing it to shreds. Once I deemed it was too destroyed to continue playing with I threw it out and that was that, he didn't go steal one of my ponies to take its place. I have complete faith in him. ^.^

*UPDATE FROM MY FIRST POST!!!*
When I'm writing this, I'm putting up sales on a Dutch sale page, like Craigslist in the US, and I have a box with ponies next to me on the ground. My doggie Kyra comes to me and sniffed at the ponies...and she look at me with those eye's like *Mommy can I have one?*
So I say to her....Yes you may pick one!!! And low and behold!!!! I wish I had the time to film it with my phone!!! She sniff's around in the box...picked first a Italy Peachy...but then all of a sudden she digg's and digg's and pulled out...Baby Cuddles and lay it in front of me and looks up at me with a face like *Can I have her...Pleasseeee????*
So I told her she could have Cuddles and she took it to her pillow and is now sleeping...with Cuddles laying besides her!!!! Soooo cuteeee!!!!
I never thought she would be so gentle with a toy what doesn't squeek! Normally she would destroy it! And funny thing is...I thought the cats would be all over the box...but they didn't even look at it!!! X

My cats have one pony; G2 Magic Kitchen Sweet Berry. I already had her and this one was in pretty bad condition. I tried to sell her but nobody wanted her, so I thought why not give her to the cats. They love her, especially her hair!
-
My cat has a baity g2 Princess morning glory. She has never been interested in ponies. But I got this lot and for what ever reason she was transfixed in her. So I let her keep it.
She just likes hanging out holding her.

My cats don't so much play with toys as with each other. They do, however nuzzle ponies when introduced, and then leave it at that.
