Years ago, I remember stumbling across, of all things, a G1 MLP sewing machine on my trips across the young Internet. Ever since then, I've been both baffled and fascinated by the sheer bizarre and beautiful variety of MLP merch--from pasta to records and sewing machines and toothbrushes. Show me the weird! Show me the merch that's never catalogued anywhere! Show me the most bizarre MLP-related item in your collection! :silly:

I always pull out this beauty for such threads!  It's a store display sleeping bag!  A shop would have had this wonder attached to a board (it has snaps on the back) to show what the full sized bag looked like.  I've never seen another one like this!

Aha, I spot the sewing machine there, Aadra! Look at all that stuff--that's so cool, and that sleeping bag's gotta be quite the rare find! I especially love the Glory mirror; Glory's one of my favourite G1s and I'd kill to find one of those!

It's a Firefly nightlight. Weird, I have it too and never even realized she's missing her wings.

I love seeing what kinds of things were made for G1 MLP! I've seen the sewing machine, cassette player, and mirror come up on eBay occasionally, but of course never when I have money to justify spending on them!

So obviously here in London I don't have access to any of mine, but I made this thread some time ago with some of the treasures in my collection. I have got rid of a lot of my merchandise over the years, and yet it keeps on coming...the ones in this thread are ones I would keep :)

Those bikes are amazing! I had a purple unicorn tricycle as a kid, but it wasn't MLP. Mine was probably cheaper because it was just generic unicorns, lol  >_<

I keep telling myself to hold off on trying to get my hands on merch until I have an actual pony room, lol. Although, if I find a good deal, I'd snatch something up now - it would probably have to end up in storage for a while, though.  :drunk:

I seem to remember having a board game when I was a kid, but it wasn't the one ponyfan showed...I might have to do some digging around and see if I can find it someplace, lol. I know I used to have a Treasure Trolls board game too - we were a big board game family, haha

I have but not for several years. I think there is another version of the same game where the ponies are trying to get to Dream Castle. In my game they are trying to reach Paradise Estate.  Maybe you are thinking of the Dream Castle game ClawleenMeowlen?

It's mine from when I was about 3 years old, but I got it from a family friend who basically started my collection by giving me half of hers. Most of my "obscure merch" is from childhood, though I did recently find one of those board games above in a thrift store!

Well, I have a Dutch "kijkdoos". Can't find the English translation for it, maybe a show box? You create a scene in a shoe box. The first pictures is one I made myself, an unoffical one. But I do have the originale one as well, unused! I had one as I kid and I was ecstatic when I found one for sale on the Dutch craigslist!

The art for this MGR game looks so familiar to me - I think this is the one I had! I peeked in a closet where we used to keep our board games, but only some are in there. The rest of our games are either being stored elsewhere now, or have been garage saled. That, or I remember the game because a friend had it, lol. I'm really not sure, as I don't have any specific memories of actually playing it...maybe I thought it was boring as a kid, too, lol!  :drunk:

i love this thread  :) i also love pony merchandise, i have been collecting it for so long. it still amazes me that new stuff is showing up that people never knew existed before

i have tons of pictures on facebook in 2 merchandise albums i created, plus i am still not finished taking pictures of everything

i would so love to have a real g1 bicycle.

i have never seen that blue lock with key, the scissors or the spaghettio (spelled wrong) box 

also do not forget there is a page on facebook from a collector who is making a pony merchandise book. pictures are always needed

I saw some interesting merch today; didn't get a picture or buy it, but it was a G4 chocolate/card memory game. You're supposed to match the characters on the cards, and if you get a match you get to eat the chocolate ;) Here's a stock image:

Here's two of mine (and a book in the middle there that needs scanning) that I posted on Tumblr yesterday. The same packet of Lite-Brite refills as Ponyfan and a G2 ceramics kit. I have intentions to scan the Lite-Brite packaging and also the sheets inside, as they have not been used, if anyone would be interested in seeing them? I'll also be scanning/photographing the packaging and contents of the ceramics kit in the very near future that I can post as well. That one is an odd one, to my mind. Unlike other pony craft kits I'm aware of, it doesn't have an unpainted ceramic inside for you to decorate, but actual molds and powdered plaster!

:art: I've actually casted the molds once with some other powdered plaster I had on hand. The casts didn't quite turn out, but I think I still have them somewhere... They haven't show up yet, though. I've only just unpacked this from storage yesterday.

I do have the Rosedust canteen, and I just recently won an unopened pack of party whistles featuring Applejack. They were cheap, and I decided it would be fun to collect more random pony merch!
