Does anyone know of a product that would look like mud on a pony body and hair? Is there something in diorama crafting that would achieve the look? I have used glossy modge podge to look like caramel, so I'm wondering if perhaps a matte version would work as mud.
Has anyone added "mud" to a custom? Please feel free share your "messy" customs pics!

You could also mix dirt in with Mod Podge... but that would be an experiment in and of itself XD

I'm certain war hammer/citadel paints made textured paints for this sort of thing. Army Painter do as well :) you could also look at model railway suppliers.
You can make your own mixing sand, glue (mod podge) and paint :)

Hmm, maybe regular brown acrylic could work as well? Depending on the brand of course, I've had burnt umber paint that was really thick and lumpy, it looked exactly like mud. :D I don't remember the brand but it was artist grade paint. In my experience that colour (burnt umber) and darker browns and blacks in general are often of this thick, lumpy consistency rather than smooth. And if yours is smooth, you can always follow PKW's advice and mix in some sand and other stuff. :lol:
