Rather, does anyone like the lashes? I'm thinking of taking the lashes off my pink one, but I suppose that would decrease her value... :yikes:

I think she has her fans- I see nothing wrong at all with taking off those caterpillars though. You can even replace them with nicer lashes if you'd like.
when the eyelashes are monsterous fluffy things like the ones most ponies have (including yours) I don't see how anything you did would not be an improvement...

YES, I love them. My MIB ones are some of my prized MIBs/MOCs. The lashes look better when they are ruly. Overall I just like it being girly as heck and princessy. Chop 'em if you want. *shrug* Or maybe try to shape them a little better just by combing, more fanlike.

Are these rare or expensive? The one with shortened lashes honestly look a lot better!

Not really, I don't think. I'm not good at loose pony values but I'm pretty sure they aren't elevated much or any above others.

I must admit, I actually kind of like them ... I prefer the trimmed lashes. But I just love that pose its so elegant and actually looks like a horse.
At the end of the day, she is your pony, so if you want to remove the lashes or cut them its your choice :)

I saw one on ebay a while back that had been delashed. I almost didn't recognise her; she looked so much prettier.
I don't like them on two counts - pose and eyelashes - but I think that, if you wanted to take the lashes off and you weren't planning to sell her it's up to you. I don't think they're worth a lot anyway, except maybe MIB...?

I like them! But, I like all G1s. I can't think of a single pony (or gimmick) I don't like! I will admit, though, the eyelashes look better in the box. I've seen them de-lashed and they are pretty that way.

I like them! I fell in love with the pink one at a flea market about 20 years ago, lol! She had her cape and everything.

I think that the eyelash princesses suffer from the same pitfall as any gimmicky pony: once the gimmick becomes unattractive, it ruins the whole look of the pony. (Think of rusty BBEs, patchy So-Softs, matted Perfume Puffs...) I think eyelash princesses are pretty when they're in good condition, but it helps if you enjoy the ultra-glam aesthetic to begin with. I recently got Princess Pink, and I love her to bits!

Thanks for the responses, everyone. :) I like the pony herself well enough. It's just the lashes that put me off. Someone posted a picture of a de-lashed alternate rehair of her over in the customs forum, and I thought she looked lovely. Granted, the lashes on mine are rather wild, but even if they were tamed, I still think I'd like her better without them. I'm not planning to sell her, so maybe I will at least trim them. :good:

How do they look with applied lashes? I would think the strip would cover the rooting holes too so it would look less unfortunate.

I used to own one for years. It was complete too. I like them overall but would like them a lot better without the eyelashes. I think I had mine as an evil queen when I was growing up.

I did get my grubby mitts on an extra purple gal. Here's what she looks like without lashes (I filled in those lovely eye holes):

Not a fan, personally.
Although I would kind of like to see someone root a mustache on them to complete the Groucho Marx look.

I think the pose they're in is gorgeous but yes, the lashes are off-putting. That said, the short eyelashes do look nicer than the big long ones. It just comes down to personal taste, really! :P

Tons of skill, Fimo and a fine hand at re-painting to match the original eyelash color....

They are not my type and I think that eyelashes are só ugly.. >_<
But they without them looks like much better!! :shocked: If some day I have one, I'll take them off too.

I really like the ones that don't have to long of lashes; at a certain point they look like low bushy eyebrows. But, if the lashes are under control, I think they look lovely.

I like them. I like odd or quirky ponies, plus the fantasy/fairytale theme is always a winner for me.

Yes, they are! They're painted on normally for a pony in that pose, underneath the 3D ones. ;)

I actually like them! Not too found of their pose though. But the eyelashes are great :lol: I like quirky stuff.

They are G1 ponies, so I like them! Not on my painting list, though... :blush:

I like them, although my personal favourite was one that someone made here. I forget who it was :blush:, but they removed the original eyelashes, and added new fake ones. It was beautiful. I feel like it was more like what the designer had in mind when they made them.

This pony isn't my thing, but I struggle with the idea of doing further damage to a G1 pony because they are no longer made. I'd consider selling this one on and then look for baits in the same pose to produce custom ponies.

I dont mind them really I think I have two with very short eyelashes for trade. I dont know how that got that way. I think I wouldnt mind them if they had short eyelashes but mine I think have full. I just sit them next to the BBEs when I have a pony room. They will fit right in with all the other circus freak animals. Why be normal that's boring! :D

I always thought they looked like drag queens. I kind of love them for the sheer ridiculousness of those crazy eyelashes. I think that removing the nasty ones and putting on some actually nice eyelashes would be awesome. I have a custom by kCherry with eyelashes and she's spectacular.

I like them! Those wiki pics are my girls! =) I will admit that the eyelashes could look better, but It's never really bothered me. Purple had been trimmed by a previous owner when I got her from ebay, and I don't really like her any more or less than I like Pink. Pink was one of my top favorite ponies when I was little. :lovey:

I've kind of thought about this, but they're rather short to try to get a flat iron or even a small curling iron at...
I do have yet another extra purple princess that I should try this on for the good of pony science.

Before I became a collector, I'd never seen these ponies in my life! I grew with a Pony Bride so I'm used to the pose, which I don't really like although my Pony Bride is precious. I would consider buy both of the princesses but I would get rid of those lashes in a heartbeat!

I love them! The eyelashes are just so crazy looking, they crack me up! I've always wondered if the lashes could be tamed if you waxed them or something though...

I know I saw a fantastic re-lashed (is that a word?) one, with just one or two lashes per hole and it looked lovely. I guess you'd have to put a dab of glue in the holes and just stick the lashes in!
Sapphire-Light, your custom rehair is just stunning :) I do like the pose of these ponies, but the hair and lash choices don't do much for me. Tbh I'd probably cut the lashes off my spares before selling them, they look so much nicer.

In all seriousness though, they're not my favorite ponies, but the eyelashes aren't why. To me, they're relatively boring ponies (more pink princess themes?) and the eyelashes give them something interesting and unique, if unintentionally silly-looking. So I agree that the ones with the eyelashes removed look better, but I think I might like them less despite that.

I like the pink one, cause of her symbol. I would have no problem with her being without her lashes. :)

I think they'd look better if they rooted the lashes in silver or blue- but BLACK? So 80s/early 90s! Oh wait, when did these come out? Lol

They're not my favorite. We always call them the Groucho Marx ponies. Though, if the eyelashes are styled out and not mashed up against the face they do look okay. You have to wonder what leads a group of people to think that making ponies with caterpillar eyebrow lashes is a good idea LOL
