So this is the lot I got today: 46 ponies (plus some brushes and a carrying case) for $45--less than $1 per pony. :biggrin:
And yes, that is Mimic in the middle. NEAR MINT. :frolic:

OK, as promised, here are some more photos. I haven't done any cleaning on these.
First, the "exciting" ones. :P Look how pink the streak in Mimic's mane is!!

Cherries Jubilee is the only tailless one of the lot. The apples on AJ's other side are pretty faded.

Those eyelashes on Princess Royal Pink just annoy me. BBE Cuddles has no eye rust!!

Star Hopper appears to have numerous slices in the vinyl, as well as other issues; Boysenberry Pie has some facial "decorations"; and Baby Sparkle Gusty had part of her mane hacked off.

I think both Sundances just need cleaning, although the one on the left is oddly squishy. Baby Stockings has an eye rub and is missing the tip of an ear.

Poor Seaflower has seen better days. Not sure what to do about her hair.

These guys are in pretty good shape, although Baby Bows has blush rubs.

Some nice curl in Tip Toes' hair. Surf Rifer has her float.

Three G2s (Light Heart, Blue Pearl, and Sugar Belle). I don't know what the orange one is. (Edited: I've been informed that she is G3.5 Scootaloo.)

I'm not sure rare is the right word. Sought after is a better term. She wasn't sold everywhere but the fact she was sold across US and Canada means there are probably more of her than of some of the ponies unique to smaller countries. However because she was in that one TV special with the magic horseshoes, I guess she is popular, and also green ponies seem to be more expensive anyway. There was a theory that Hasbro put out more pink ponies than green ones but I don't think that's been borne out with ponies people have found still in original distribution cases.
Maybe it's more that parents bought pink ponies more for kids and so more of them sold, therefore more were sent over and packaged to replace them? Mimic, Bright Eyes and Quackers, the ponies not sold globally in that set, are probably also the most expensive. Tic Tac Toe, Locket and Speedy were global so maybe are less so (though I'm never 100% sure about TicTacToe).
I've had three or four Mimics pass through my hands in total and she was never sold here, so I generally don't think she's any rarer than any other pony in her set. One of the ones I had I even found here, which sort of confirms the rumour she did get sold in some parts of Europe (I have an Italian insert which pictures her).

nice lot! That squishy Sundance, is she marked HK on her foot? I know there's a Spanish/NC version of her that isn't super rare, but worth a little more at least here in the US.
