Title: HELP! Sale Pricing for International Ponies?
Post by: Majoras_Masquerade on November 11, 2015, 12:27:05 PM
I unfortunately have to part ways with a few nirvana items in my collection. I have a MOC large symbol Nightlight (I paid $500 for back in '09 or '10), as well as a good condition Raindrop (large symbol, with a few pony cancer spots on non-display side being the only real flaw) and a good condition Cascade (slight hair trim like someone cut off the damaged ends, evenly done and not really noticeable) along with the UK green-based waterfall, also in pretty good condition (one water tube missing so it doesn't "rain", cloud has some yellowing due to age). I lucked out and paid in the mid $50 range for Raindrop (most auctions I've seen her go for over $200) and about $60 for Cascade, and I think around $150 for the waterfall. I plan on possibly selling Raindrop and Cascade together with the waterfall for $250 and Nightlight for $250, or doing an auction with those prices as the reserve. What do you guys think? Too much? Too little? Need to know before Xmas!

I saw someone who posted about a cancer cure in a facebook group, in case you are interested? Not sure, he was still testing on different colours but it looks very promissing.

Raindrop $60-80
Cascade $15-20? Hard to tell with out seeing pictures.

I'll have to research MOC Nightlight and the waterfall for you.

You may be able to get more for Nightlight... I would suggest an auction/taking offers on her. Raindrop and the waterfall you might get more interest in if you don't sell them together.

I agree with you LadyG about Nightlight. I've just been looking and I've not seen one in the open market for sometime. I'd suggest taking offers starting at $500.

Thank you guys, appreciate it! Now my next question is should I go on pony forums and post sales/auctions, or with eBay? I don't like that eBay takes a percentage of your sales and seems more easy to get scammed there, but it also probably gets more traffic in ways of serious collectors who have the money to pay for what they want and go there specifically to buy/auction, whereas pony sites you're exposed to lots of serious pony fans, but are also here for many other aspects and has a more "casual" business aspect to it.  I've been out of the pony collecting loop for awhile so I'm really not sure- plus I always bought, never sold before. :/

There is plenty that you can do to protect yourself selling either on eBay or on here.  The best advice I can give is to used tracked and insured shipping and not to use the gift option when accepting payments using PayPal.

Please check this link for the rules and etiquette of selling on here :)
