Hello Everypony!
Update:
I've added on the 12 Days of Christmas as a second group as I've had a fair bit of interest for that one too. If it works out ok then I'll do the same from now on.
The rules are all the same, however, you just pic ONE of the days to draw, one person per day. First come first served, enter by posting which day you would like to attempt in this post. You may enter both of the comps if you choose, however, please note that the closing dates for both are the same, do only do this if you're sure you'll be able to have your entries complete by Sunday 20th December!
I'm sure you'll all know this by now so I'll be quick in explaining to refresh your memories.
Basically, this is a competition where you have to pick your fave Christmas Carol/Song (nothing rude)
and draw a picture to best depict that carol/song. The main rules are:
1. Pics must use MLP's, it's up to you which generation or which MLP.
2. You may use any medium, pencil, paint, ink, PC.
3. The closing date for entries is on: Sunday November 22nd.
4. There will be only 10 entries so get in quick if you want to take part. Just leave a message below with your choice of carol/song.
5. Try not to pick anything that has already been picked.
6. As soon as all contestants are signed up, you may start drawing.
7. You MUST have your drawings emailed back to me by no later than: Sunday 20th December to either my email on here or to [email protected]
8. I will then put them up for a vote and the winner will be announced just before New Year.
The prize, as usual, will be a load of pony related goodies, some sweets and your persona drawn in a Christmas scene by Aflame (if you don't have a persona, she will create one for you).

Can I have Paul McCartneys "Wonderful Christmastime"? If it needs to be something that fits a certain theme like "Rudolph" or "I want a hippopotamus" rather than just being.. Christmas let me know and I'll pick something else.

I´d love to join in, if I may? I never participated in any competitions here before but I love both drawing and chrismas carols, so it sounds like fun! My choice for song would be "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow".

Would classical music count? I had an idea for 'Waltz of the Snowflakes' from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker suite. Not technically a carol, but it's certainly considered to be festive! :D

Wow, this is the quickest I've ever filled out this comp. It'd lovely to see all the people interested in taking part. It's looking like being an excellent year.
On a side note, who here would be interested if I added a 12 Days of Christmas on as a second group to give more people a chance of entering this year? If there are some interested people I'll add it on. You're welcome to take part in both if I do that.

Pony art inspired by Christmas Carols? I love Christmas so this makes me super excited! I can not wait until to see everyone's entries.
I wish I saw this earlier, but I can't think of what song I'd like to do anyway. :lol: If you do the 12 days of Christmas subdivision, I would be interested. In the meantime, I'll be snooping for the the link to the old 12 days comp to see those entries.

Yes, yes and yes. I wonder if this one will fill up in a couple of days like the other one? Fingers crossed. It's going to be really great seeing all of the pics. I'll send a group email out to each of the comps as well once we have everyone as a reminder of dates and where to send pics etc. Oh, remember not to post them online anywhere (photobucket aside as you may need that to email me a copy) until after the voting has been done.

I was intending to just stick to the 10 entry's in the Christmas Carol one, but as there seems to be a lot of interest still, I'll add you to that too :-) As long as both are back and complete by 20th December.

Thank you for the updates also on how your drawings are coming along. Remember you have about a month to do them in so don't be afraid to take some time if you like. That said, if it helps to get the ideas down right away please do so. Don't forget to PM them or email them to me at the address provided in the first post when they are finished.
So, are there two more people who will be kind enough to fill up the 12 Days of Christmas before this Sunday evening. I think it's 9 Ladies Dancing and 12 Drummers Drumming left to go.

I didn't get anyone choose that and there had to be a closing date for entries at some point or they wouldn't have as much time...however, if there is someone willing to do that one and let me know within the next 24 hours or so I don't mind adding them on late.

Yeah! I was gonna take up the torch and do it if no one else would (even though I'm already doing 2 other comps) but a collaborative piece would be even better, like 20% cooler!

A collab entry would be fun to see! I was going to offer to take it just to fill in the slot and not have it count for the contest portion, but I'd like to see the collab more if you both feel you have the time. :)

That sounds like an interesting idea. As long as you're both ok with that, I'll add you on for 12 Drummers right now. You'd both get prizes of course if you win as well :-)

I was supposed to dedicate yesterday to finishing my entries...and somehow didn't. Gotta work hard today to make up for that! ^.^

didn't get shading on them but i know with other projects i won't have time.
i'm still happy with how they look now though.

If nothing else, the drawing is done and inked and photographed. I've the desire to color it digitally so... ^^; it'll be tonight at the earliest before I submit. I really like it.

Comin' your way! Just needed to give it a day to 'rest', so I could look at it with fresh eyes. ;) Staring at the image for so long, :shocked: it's easy to miss quality issues like spacing or saturation.

I am nearly done my Eleven Pipers. Just need to finish up the shading and background. Twelve ponies in one picture seemed a lot less chaotic in my head, but it was still fun and a good push to flesh out a scene. ^.^ Hopefully should get it done and submitted by tonight. :)

I'll post them within a couple of days, so no later than Tuesday. I'll leave them up for voting for a couple of weeks so everyone has a chance to see them and vote for their fave of each comp. Still awaiting 3 pics back though so hopefully they'll be in shortly.
