This is new. The top of her head looks really weird (http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showimage.aspx?gid=1661166&image=856527785&images=856527794,856527785&formats=0,0&format=0), so I'm guessing she's going to come with her helmet.

Ooh, cool; these blind bags look great. I think Maud's hair is strange, but I'd like to see what she looks like with a hat on! The range of poses is cool, too. I agree with others, below: I'd like to see a greater range of poses in the brushables line, too. Does anyone know when these will be released?

Maud's got a pterodactyl ridge.  Don't worry Maud, I get them too when my hair starts to grow out.

I have to agree with the above comments about wanting more poses for bushables.
On another note, has anyone noticed that most of the new poses are Earth pony only? I realize that the apple family is pretty much all earth ponies but I don't think I've seen new poses for the other two species lately...

I'm so glad she's not wearing that dress!
I wonder if this figure is what this listing is for https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B012CC9R98/ref=aw_wl_ov_dp_1_3?colid=2MDCC6DQCJIPE&coliid=IPUAFSSBI0EJ4

Other new Ponies have been spotted on Taobao as well. Judging from all the Amazon listing it seems like these will be part of the new Friendship is Magic Collection wave in addition to Maud Pie. Perhaps we can make this a thread for the new FiM collection ponies :)

I really hope this FIM collection takes off! Then I'll just need to figure out how to display it! :P
The FIM blind bags were what kicked the door open on my now multi-gen pony obsession, I just cant get past these miniature, molded hair ponies!

So I'm guessing these http://www.mlpmerch.com/2015/07/new-friendship-is-magic-collection.html?m=1 are gonna be blindbags after all?! Eeee, I'm so excited! I was hoping they'd be more FiM Collection!

And I'm guessing the ballon Pinkie is the "cutie twisty do" thing? Apparently there's going to be an Applejack one too!

All I have to say is that I'm resentful that the blind bags have so many more poses than the brushables.

Seriously, it enrages me to an almost unhealthy level that Hasbroke pays more attention to "show-accurate" (gag me) mini-figures than they do brushables.  I get a little glimmer of hope when they list these dumb things as "dolls", thinking doll = brushable pony, but now I know...  MLP is dead to me.

Love the new poses, they're so cute! I also like how they are actually tying the toys to the show made to advertise them. What a concept!

However, as much as I'd like to see new brushable poses, molded hair is really the better look for some of them. Especially the new sculpt for Pinkie, it looks much better than the old one.

I love the new poses.

I guess this means more VERY high priced mini sets instead of new brushable ponies.  Is this the future of pony ?

Please we have Explore Equestria coming as well. I'm sure they make new brushable characters. G3 also had Ponyville I don't see difference imo. Im still happy they produce new things ^^

I don't collect mini figures (haven't since 2013), honestly Hasbro is paying way too much attention to them recently, probably because bronies want 'show-accurate' stuff, which is easier to achieve with a mini figure (especially with hair molds), and they're worried that a certain fan base will be angry if otherwise. Sigh...

I hope not.  Though, I've compared them to the one-step Transformers which seem to be becoming the rigor over there.  Why, Hasbro?  We you so cheap with your toys?

Eh, as you say, the minifig line has been very focused on the apple family lately. Judging by the Amazon listings, though, (http://www.mlpmerch.com/2015/07/new-friendship-is-magic-collection.html?m=1) seeing all this Pinkie Pie stuff first is just coincidence. Maud and Mrs. Cake are likely from the "Pinkie Pie Pack," and there'll be other figures for the rest of the main characters, like the "Rainbow Fash Winning Kick."

I think they are also popular with the target audience. Kids tend to like to act out their favorite scenes and all the accessories and playsets are good for that and because they are smaller they are more affordable than a huge plastic castle. If anything is to blame it's toy trends favoring tiny stuff again.

With Transformers, I've heard it's because the audience has shifted younger, due to kids losing interest in toys earlier.  For really young kids, a one-step transformation is easier that remembering a set of directions.

All I really want out of Transformers is a show-accurate Knock Out someday.

I agree that the mini-figures are probably popular with kids.  I had tons of plastic animals as a kid . . . Not really any different from blind bags, except they weren't licensed characters (and weren't pink or purple, ha ha).

I don't mind the blind bags being around, I'm just disappointed that Hasbro STILL has not expanded the poses for the brushables.  Apparently they realize that creating new poses for the blind bags makes them more exciting and interesting, so how come they don't realize that creating new poses for the brushables would also make them more exciting and interesting?

This. Most popular toys at the moment have several sets of blind bags (Moshi Monsters was almost exclusively made of tiny figures, as are Shopkins, etc, Pokemon was HUGE on this too, and Disney's Tsumtsums work on the same logic - for a canon that has a LOT of characters, small and cheap is the best way because most people will want all their favourites). Plus, it's likely easier to get people to spend more via lots of little purchases than one large one.

I think these new blind bags look great! I'm pretty much done with collecting them personally, but I love the playsets and really hope they'll continue to bring them out until you can have a whole miniature Equestria

Yeah, I actually like the little plastic figures, and really like the sets- I just think they are overpriced. But I am sure they are selling well, and the cost of production is certainly less than it would be for the brushables.

I also agree that younger kids often like the tiny figures.  I did when I was small- I had mountains of "little people" and their animals.

But not all kids.  One of my nieces really REALLY loved MLP and when she was 4-6 (alas she is losing interest now at 7) preferred greatly the "princess" size- bigger than brushable but smaller than fashion style.  I think they just fit in her hand best.  The other kids weren't much into MLP. None of the kids have been particularly interested in the blind bag ones for whatever reason. My sister says they get played with for 5 seconds and then are lost underfoot.

I just find it funny that we finally get something new but "This isn't what I wanted so it's terrible" is the general feeling I'm getting from a lot of comments.  It's okay not to like it, but I see the same comments all the time any time something new is posted.  It's getting a little stale, guys.  Also, I dislike the term brony, but when are we going to stop blaming everything on them?  I highly doubt that group has very much to do with the fact that Hasbro is putting out more blind bag ponies with better poses and more accurate looks.

To each their own though, right?

I've been in the pony aisle plenty of times and have seen little kids going through the boxes of blind bag ponies, seemingly excited about picking a few out.  When I went to get the Apple family barn playset, a little girl begged her mom to get one for her while she kept pointing at the one I had in my hands.  While this may not be true of all kids, there is certainly an audience for them.  Many of my collector friends enjoyed the Apple family sets and, I'll admit it, when I spoke to the Hasbro reps at the Fair this past June, I told them that I'd love to see these tiny figures expand to include all of Equestria. *dodges fakies* :throw:

Also, correct me if I'm wrong (I'm just sick and tired of seeing this statement) but where does it explicitly state that My Little Pony toys are only meant to be brushables and anything else "isn't a real pony"?

When I was younger, I loved having tiny figures to play with. Polly Pocket was my favorite thing, I had so many sets!  I didn't care about brushing hair or anything like that, I just wanted some toys to use to act out the stories I came up with in my head.

While I agree that it would be nice to see more diversity in the brushables, it's not like they're ignoring them completely.  Coco Pommel is absolutely gorgeous in person and they've done a great job with her show-accurate hair style.  But yes, I'm just as disappointed as the next collector that we haven't seen anything new in the standard brushable lines.

Anyway, I think these new figures are cute.  The poses are great and I can't wait until we're able to purchase them in stores!

I hope this means each of the mane 6 are going to get a series of playsets based around them.  I got tired of the blind bags and the 3 pony sets pretty quickly.  But I love the elaborate playsets with lots of accessories and even more poses.  When Target's cartwheel had them 25% off, I gave in and bought almost all of them.

Grant you, I would still prefer brushables.  But I like these playsets better than most of the brushable sized playsets.

I agree completely! And I'm not too keen on new brushable poses - they'd be harder to display, and we'd probably see a full year exclusively of ponies we've already seen in the newer poses.

But anyway, I agree with pretty much everything said in this post, and I'm very excited about these new figures! (That leaning Pinkie is absolutely ADORABLE).

I wouldn't be so enraged if Hasbro paid attention to brushables as well.  Some of those mini-figs ARE cute (and I am ashamed to admit, I have a couple on display).  The fact that brushables are being tossed aside for these...things...is what's ticking me off.  There are all these amazing characters that have been released as mini-figures, but do they get brushables, too?  Noooooo...  I wouldn't expect every single mini-figure character to be also made as a mini-fig, but good lord, Hasbro, at least make a FEW into brushables!  I'd even be happy with new characters with really tacky gimmicks like those giant wings, water-filled ponies, etc.  I'd be SO happy with that.  It's just ticking me the heck off that mini-figs are being released one after the other after the other, and we're stuck with gimmicky main 6 brushables, and the new characters that we get as brushables are usually in expensive sets.  It's ridiculous.

I like brushables too, but I also like the blind bags, I think they're cute. Sure I'd rather have brushables (well, more accurately I just wish they'd pay attention to the brushable line as well as the minifigs, etc, like they did back in G3), but I'd rather have these than nothing, you know?

Anyway... I am excited for that Maud. She's so pretty and cute.

This. Blind bag/blind box and minifigs are huge in the toy world today, with the help of Funko making them big with the adult market. (Say what you want about Funko, but I see their toys all over people's offices on my college campus.) Barnes and Noble and Books A Million have their own shelves dedicated to blind bags, for crying out loud, and they're bookstores! Bookstores! Heck sometimes I go into Claire's because of all the adorable things they have there and Shopkins have infected that store too. (And before that they were selling Toki Doki Neon Star blind bags.) Back in my day they just sold jewelry for tweens and did ear piercing! *waves cane around*

And while it'd be nice to believe Hasbro would do something like break away from what's popular, who are we kidding. Toy companies don't work that way. If a gimmick goes big, you hold on to it like a life raft and ride it out till the bitter end. I mean, they're still doing Equestria Girls which we all know is a riff off of Monster High, why stop riding the blind bag wagon?

And honestly I like the blind bags BECAUSE it's the only thing they seem to put effort in with new molds and everything. I mean, I loved the original Water Cuties (the ones that just have water filled wings don't do it for me, they have to be full-on PONY SNOWGLOBES for me) but even those were just the normal molds hollowed out with transparent plastic. :\

(And blind bags are there mostly to appeal to bronies? Hahah no, let's stop using bronies as the bogeyman for Hasbro putting out toys we don't like, I've seen kids that like blind bags, and Muffin pony, and DJ-PON3. Heck, I've seen adults post to say, Funrise's Facebook asking where in the world can they find the Muffin pony plushes for their children since they've been AWOL since their initial release.
(Well okay you can complain about bronies when it comes to say, Hot Topic merch or whatever....)

Also, I never really feel like it's the nicest thing to complain about releases and saying what they like is the death of pony or whatever when there are already posts with people being excited about them. Okay you don't have the same taste in toys, but we're not even talking bronies, we're talking other Arena members, let them enjoy pony in their own way and let's not alienate them by saying what they like isn't real pony or whatever. That's just not cool.

This figure.. I don't know but it actually bothers me... It might just be the pose but I've notice with many of these newer released the joint under the head is much more visible than the normal Blind Bags, and I hate to admit it but her tail doesn't look like a tail to me XD

I'll wait to see what the rest look like... I won't get the sets though.. too many small items that are easy to lose xD
Plus a few odds and ends that just bother me to bits with these (namely like with Flim/Flam... their main wasn't at all attached to the neck.. and just some of the poses currently do bother me ^^; )

We should worry, actually.  Mattel is out there, and they are poised to eat Hasbro's lunch.  Monster High has come out with these things called fright mares, and they're flying off the shelves here.  My friend described Hasbro's current approach to toys crawling while Mattel is running a marathon.

We're complaining because if Hasbro doesn't get off the dime, all the success G4 has had will be sucked away by stagnation while the toy world has left them behind.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean no one else will. People here have mentioned that kids seem very fond of the blindbags, and hasbro wouldn't be making so many if they weren't selling. Plus, mattel has always dwarfed hasbro. It's not like hasbro lacking in comparison is anything new.

Though I share your frustration, I wish we were getting more brushables too. Another Celestia and Daisy, really? We need something new.

These are so cute! I like these far more than the standard blind bags. The varied poses and scenes look like a lot of fun! I'm not interested in collecting the mini figures, because I find the brushables prettier for display. However I'm sure I would have loved these as a kid! Some of my favourite toys were always tiny mini figures... plastic animals, Sylvanian familes, mini pokemon toys... so yeah I can definitely see the appeal for kids ^^

Difference is G3 had MORE brushables compared to the molded figures, whilst G4 has a crapload of molded figures compared to the brushables (not counting brushables doubles)...

I guess i'll kinda get these...not sure yet, blind bags are severely overpriced :/

Very cool new ponies, excited for whats to come, but my wallet is not. Kids love these things trust me, I one time was at a garage sale and they had lots of pony stuff but no ponies, so I asked and she brought out a bin of G4 brushables and like two huge fishing lure cases full of blind bags they had tonsss of characters, she said you can buy some brushables they dont like those as much and dont even play with those. She said as for the mini figures they will not part with those. So there is a prime example of how blind bags are loved by kids. Also about half the time I'm in the pony section at target or walmart I see a kid walk up grab a blind bag and walk back to their mom. Seriously I see it all the time.

Same here. Most times I see kids getting pony toys, it's small stuff, blind bags, squishy pops, fashems, etc.  It's easy to see why, since they're small and are only a couple of bucks.

It is true that the target audience for the line seems to like the smaller figures better. I often wonder if this is due to either their size or the fact there is more of an assortment of characters and poses, or if it's because the ponies look more like the show characters?

Have we seen anything else from the Explore Equestria line, TornadoTwist?

The brushables also not all that well designed.  The blind bags and mini figures are closer to the body type of the show (the only brushables that close are the more expensive fashion style ponies).  They have a variety of poses and characters.  Brushables would be more popular if Hasbro actually put some money into them.

It's great we're getting Maud in some form without the floral pattern (even if she has that weird pterodactyl ridge), but I wish Hasbro put as much effort in their bread and butter as they did with these things.

With the new creative poses, I have found myself liking the ponyville size characters more. However, I like them in a different way than I like ponies. I will pick a few up as they are cute and creative on display but like a lot of fad items, I see them being something I will happily pass on or sell in a year or so.

The current trend for teeny tiny plastic characters that just about every toy line is plunging in to right now, means its not surprising Hasbro have headed in this direction. Its a shame, I feel its a little to the sacrifice of what many would consider the core pony line, but times change and toy lines adapt along with it.

For me ponies are plastic bodies and brushable hair - and there is absolutely nothing wrong with me having that opinion. I dont include ponyville (of any gen) or even petite ponies in my collection if I was adding up the number of ponies I have. I just think of them as something different. And likewise, there is nothing wrong with anyone who considers these little guys part (or all of) their pony collection.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - this is a discussion forum - news threads or discussion threads as long as everyone respects everyone else and stays within the rules then say as you see and feel.

I don't understand why people are complaining about these.  For fans of the current show and characters, these are great! They really look like who they are meant to be whereas with brushables it can be iffy.

I collect the blind bag figures and think these are nice (and storage friendly) collectibles as well. It's okay to still love the brushables but I can hardly see why its bad that there are non cookie-cutter molds now for these figures.

These are more affordable than many brushables I should note as well. Not everyone got into the show because of G1 so please keep that in mind. I got into MLP first with G3 minus a few hand-me-downs G1s/G2s that I barely remember.

I think these figures are sort of comparable to figures outside of MLP such as Pokemon Tomy MC Figures, which is neat.

I dont understand what there even is to be upset about here. Hasbro is putting their efforts into all sorts of things that arent new brushable poses, theres no reason to attack their new successful line just because its not more brushable ponies.

Im absolutely stoaked on the FIM Collection, this is the line Ive always waited for. I also dont see how it has anything to do with the oh-so-hated bronies that Hasbro is making quality figures. Kids absolutely eat this stuff up! I would have died for show acurate minifigures of my favorite shows as a child- and I still feel that way. I cant wait to build a mini-Equestria! Plus theyre even cheaper than the blindbags.
I dont even bother to collect the G4 brushables because so few of them interest me, but my fiance has a near complete collection of them and I dont think they would display as well in varied poses.
Ive got a healthy G1 & G3 collection of brushable ponies, because they did have more varied characters and themes. Molded hairs are stil by far my favorite, Ive got a nearly complete collection of molded hair G1 petities too! And I wish ponyville were G3 as opposed to G3.5- Id be all over that!

Lets just appreciate the new, actually cool and quality stuff Hasbro is producing. If they do really well, that might just be what gives them the revenue to revampt their brushable line and create new molds!

It's all a matter of person preference. Some people just don't like such things and that is perfectly fine :) You have several different type of people here who like different things within my little pony, from brushables to just plain merch. From old time collectors to new upstarts who want to follow a trend. So just expect people are going to be upset and complain and move on ^^

I love the mini sized ponies! They take up less space and these new scenery ones are so cute. The apple family are my favorite so my bank account already hates me. I probably won't get much from the following waves outside of a few favorites.

I'll always love brushables the most since they remind me more of the G1s I fell in love with, but the G4 brushable line is pretty stale right now. At least I can get excited by these cute little figures!

I kind of hope they make a blind-bag sized Spike,he would look good with the color variations too like what they did with series 4 and 10.

Winona would have been adorable but I think they may only make Gummy since he is the most popular of the pets. Who knows, maybe we will be surprised.

Yeah, kinda like how I doubt we'll be seeing any more of the pets with the EqG dolls. I got that Gummy to go with my Funko Pinkie Pie and was really hoping for the others.

But still, it'd be nice to see all of the pets in one way or another...

All I have to say is that I'm resentful that the blind bags have so many more poses than the brushables.
Yeah, it's not just the poses. There are so many BB characters that I would love to have as brushables! You just can't do much with blind bags and they're too tiny to display nicely.

And Maud just has her own unique style when it comes to hair. :)

There's no such thing as too tiny to display nicely.  :pout:

But I'm sure I'd still delightfully hurt someone for the chance at more guy/background characters as brushables. And more poses. Like that walking pose. That was good. More of that and others. But no more Tribble hair. That's dumb.  >_<

I really hope we see a Canterlot (that could include Rarity with her new shop) or Cloudsdale (for Rainbow Dash, of course) set of mini figures next. After that it'd be cool to get into some other places in Equestria, really tap into this Explore Equestria line!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe how well-priced Sweet Shoppe set is, the building seems like it's a pretty good size. Plus, the Sweet Shop looks SO much nicer than the Apples' barn. This is encouraging!

And non pony characters! I hope they make Matilda to go with Cranky (or even Mootilda!)

I can't let myself buy all of them, but I kind of want to just to support this line. Mini figures are just my favorites!

I know I should probably wait on the treehouse (which will no doubt be cheaper and on sale at a retailer once in stock) but couldn't help myself.  It looks SO cool!  I love that Twilight has her Starswirl costume too- and Zecora!

I got the Nightmare Moon sets because I am afraid they will sell out instantly every time they show up and don't have the energy for the chase...
