All I have to say is that I'm resentful that the blind bags have so many more poses than the brushables.
Is this the future of pony ?I hope not. Though, I've compared them to the one-step Transformers which seem to be becoming the rigor over there. Why, Hasbro? We you so cheap with your toys?
I guess this means more VERY high priced mini setsBut most of them are cheaper than the actual blind bags.
On another note, has anyone noticed that most of the new poses are Earth pony only? I realize that the apple family is pretty much all earth ponies but I don't think I've seen new poses for the other two species lately...Eh, as you say, the minifig line has been very focused on the apple family lately. Judging by the Amazon listings, though, (http://www.mlpmerch.com/2015/07/new-friendship-is-magic-collection.html?m=1) seeing all this Pinkie Pie stuff first is just coincidence. Maud and Mrs. Cake are likely from the "Pinkie Pie Pack," and there'll be other figures for the rest of the main characters, like the "Rainbow Fash Winning Kick."
I don't collect mini figures (haven't since 2013), honestly Hasbro is paying way too much attention to them recently, probably because bronies want 'show-accurate' stuff, which is easier to achieve with a mini figure (especially with hair molds), and they're worried that a certain fan base will be angry if otherwise. Sigh...

I think they are also popular with the target audience. Kids tend to like to act out their favorite scenes and all the accessories and playsets are good for that and because they are smaller they are more affordable than a huge plastic castle. If anything is to blame it's toy trends favoring tiny stuff again.

I just find it funny that we finally get something new but "This isn't what I wanted so it's terrible" is the general feeling I'm getting from a lot of comments. It's okay not to like it, but I see the same comments all the time any time something new is posted. It's getting a little stale, guys. Also, I dislike the term brony, but when are we going to stop blaming everything on them? I highly doubt that group has very much to do with the fact that Hasbro is putting out more blind bag ponies with better poses and more accurate looks.
To each their own though, right?
I've been in the pony aisle plenty of times and have seen little kids going through the boxes of blind bag ponies, seemingly excited about picking a few out. When I went to get the Apple family barn playset, a little girl begged her mom to get one for her while she kept pointing at the one I had in my hands. While this may not be true of all kids, there is certainly an audience for them. Many of my collector friends enjoyed the Apple family sets and, I'll admit it, when I spoke to the Hasbro reps at the Fair this past June, I told them that I'd love to see these tiny figures expand to include all of Equestria. *dodges fakies* :throw:
Also, correct me if I'm wrong (I'm just sick and tired of seeing this statement) but where does it explicitly state that My Little Pony toys are only meant to be brushables and anything else "isn't a real pony"?
When I was younger, I loved having tiny figures to play with. Polly Pocket was my favorite thing, I had so many sets! I didn't care about brushing hair or anything like that, I just wanted some toys to use to act out the stories I came up with in my head.
While I agree that it would be nice to see more diversity in the brushables, it's not like they're ignoring them completely. Coco Pommel is absolutely gorgeous in person and they've done a great job with her show-accurate hair style. But yes, I'm just as disappointed as the next collector that we haven't seen anything new in the standard brushable lines.
Anyway, I think these new figures are cute. The poses are great and I can't wait until we're able to purchase them in stores!

Wow, this thread escalated quickly.yeah it usually does. everytime new blindbags come out. either way. i'm excited to see the new pony poses.
I like brushables too, but I also like the blind bags, I think they're cute. Sure I'd rather have brushables (well, more accurately I just wish they'd pay attention to the brushable line as well as the minifigs, etc, like they did back in G3), but I'd rather have these than nothing, you know?
Anyway... I am excited for that Maud. She's so pretty and cute.

This. Most popular toys at the moment have several sets of blind bags (Moshi Monsters was almost exclusively made of tiny figures, as are Shopkins, etc, Pokemon was HUGE on this too, and Disney's Tsumtsums work on the same logic - for a canon that has a LOT of characters, small and cheap is the best way because most people will want all their favourites). Plus, it's likely easier to get people to spend more via lots of little purchases than one large one.
I think these new blind bags look great! I'm pretty much done with collecting them personally, but I love the playsets and really hope they'll continue to bring them out until you can have a whole miniature Equestria
visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThis figure.. I don't know but it actually bothers me... It might just be the pose but I've notice with many of these newer released the joint under the head is much more visible than the normal Blind Bags, and I hate to admit it but her tail doesn't look like a tail to me XD
We should worry, actually. Mattel is out there, and they are poised to eat Hasbro's lunch. Monster High has come out with these things called fright mares, and they're flying off the shelves here. My friend described Hasbro's current approach to toys crawling while Mattel is running a marathon.Just because you don't like it doesn't mean no one else will. People here have mentioned that kids seem very fond of the blindbags, and hasbro wouldn't be making so many if they weren't selling. Plus, mattel has always dwarfed hasbro. It's not like hasbro lacking in comparison is anything new.
We're complaining because if Hasbro doesn't get off the dime, all the success G4 has had will be sucked away by stagnation while the toy world has left them behind.
Please we have Explore Equestria coming as well. I'm sure they make new brushable characters. G3 also had Ponyville I don't see difference imo. Im still happy they produce new things ^^Difference is G3 had MORE brushables compared to the molded figures, whilst G4 has a crapload of molded figures compared to the brushables (not counting brushables doubles)...
Very cool new ponies, excited for whats to come, but my wallet is not. Kids love these things trust me, I one time was at a garage sale and they had lots of pony stuff but no ponies, so I asked and she brought out a bin of G4 brushables and like two huge fishing lure cases full of blind bags they had tonsss of characters, she said you can buy some brushables they dont like those as much and dont even play with those. She said as for the mini figures they will not part with those. So there is a prime example of how blind bags are loved by kids. Also about half the time I'm in the pony section at target or walmart I see a kid walk up grab a blind bag and walk back to their mom. Seriously I see it all the time.
I don't understand why people are complaining about these. For fans of the current show and characters, these are great! They really look like who they are meant to be whereas with brushables it can be iffy.
I dont understand what there even is to be upset about here. Hasbro is putting their efforts into all sorts of things that arent new brushable poses, theres no reason to attack their new successful line just because its not more brushable ponies. It's all a matter of person preference. Some people just don't like such things and that is perfectly fine :) You have several different type of people here who like different things within my little pony, from brushables to just plain merch. From old time collectors to new upstarts who want to follow a trend. So just expect people are going to be upset and complain and move on ^^
That's.. fast

I kind of hope they make a blind-bag sized Spike,he would look good with the color variations too like what they did with series 4 and 10.
Winona would have been adorable but I think they may only make Gummy since he is the most popular of the pets. Who knows, maybe we will be surprised.
Maybe they will do a Fluttershy pet sitting set with her house and all the pets.

That would be amazing!
All I have to say is that I'm resentful that the blind bags have so many more poses than the brushables.Yeah, it's not just the poses. There are so many BB characters that I would love to have as brushables! You just can't do much with blind bags and they're too tiny to display nicely.

The bump on Maude's head is for Gummy to hold on to!

I have to admit, though, I hate the hats just sitting on top of hair look!
Is Maude's hair supposed to stick up like that though?
