I nicked this off of GameFAQs, as usual, as they usually have better poll ideas than me. :P
Do you have any tattoos? I do not and doubt I ever will. Just not my cup of tea. I have been known to use rub-on tattoos on occasion, though. :)
But I know there are some Arena peeps that are inked up! You can vote in the poll and even describe or show them off if you like.
Disclaimer: please don't show them off in they are in an area not generally viewable by the public! You know what I mean! :P
-
I don't, but my dude is well tatted up. P: I wish I had the spare moneys for such adventures.
-
I don't have any but I would like to someday! However, I am very indecisive so I have no idea what it would actually be. This is why I probably will not get a tattoo for a while!
I like the idea of having little brightly coloured planets or stars somewhere, and I like a lot of animals. Axolotls, lizards, cuttlefish and, of course, dragons would probably make neat tattoos... Oh and dinosaurs! A bright, feathery raptor of some kind? That might be pretty.
*shrug!*
-
No, I don't have any tattoos. I wouldn't be able to get one even if I wanted it. I'm so sensitive to pain, no way I could make it through a session.
-
I have one, hidden where it isn't ever the subject of conversation. People are always surprised if I tell them I have one and ask why I didn't put it somewhere visible. I got it to be a part of me and not to be shared with the world, that's why.
-
I'd like to get one but they're expensive, they sound really painful and I can never make up my mind about what I wanna get.
-
I would but the way my luck goes I'd end up allergic and it just isn't worth the trouble.
-
Nope, and I never will -- far too painful and tacky to me :P
-
I definitely fall under the totally inked category :P I have 31 so far, with 2/3 of them only being visible in the summer when I wear shorts or dresses. I plan on adding more very soon ^.^ My hubby is heavily inked as well, he has around 50 and plans on adding more as well.
-
I have two, but they are only visible in the summer when I wear shorts and/or tank tops. I wouldn't say that I regret them, but my interests have changed since then and I don't really appreciate them as much as I used to.
-
I have one, a dragon on the back of my left shoulder. I'd love to have more but whenever I save up an emergency strikes.
-
I have two and hope to get more. The one that is visible all the time is a simple red heart on the base of my left big toe. It was my first because I was worried that it would hurt a lot so I went with something small. Surprisingly it didn't hurt that much at all.
-
Nope--and I don't think I ever would simply due to the type of upraising I had.
I do find them pretty though :)
-
I have 5. One is always visible, it's Autism puzzle pieces on my wrist. The yellow one needs a touch up. :)
I have a fairy on my right calf, a moon/stars on my left calf.
I have a big puzzle piece with my son's name on my left foot.
And I have this: http://mellon.deviantart.com/art/Pattern-in-the-ivy-2178704
on my back. I know many many more people have it, but I really love it. I always get compliments on it.
-
I got a small purple/lavender butterfly on my upper arm when I was 18. That was in 1996.
-
I don't have any tattoos on me. I might get at least one small tattoo someday, but I'm not 100% sure if I will go through with it or not. Major problem with me getting a tattoo is that my dad made it absolutely clear that he finds tattoos on women unattractive. =/
-
I don't have any but I have an idea of what I eventually will put between my shoulderblades. I've had the idea since I was 14, and I am 31 now.. I just need money for it and the courage to book an appointment.
-
I have two both I got while I was in the Air Force. I never did get my jack skeleton tattoo though. I was gonna get him on the back of my leg. I am eventually going to get my Grandfather's and my dads initials done. Not sure yet where I wanna get them at.
-
I'd like to get one but they're expensive, they sound really painful and I can never make up my mind about what I wanna get.
ditto lol :p
-
I am pretty heavily inked =)
-
I want a heck of a lot of tattoos, but I don't have a pain tolerance + I'm scared of needles. .__.
-
I have 1 tattoo. It's on my back right shoulder blade and is almost always covered up. It's a Breast Cancer ribbon with the word 'Believe'. I chose it because my mom and grandma are both survivors. I plan on getting another tattoo soon. it'll be on my wrist and dedicated to 1 of my dogs. He's alive and well, but I love him to death and want something special on my wrist where I can always see it.
-
I don't have any and I doubt I ever will... but you know, never say 'never'! ;) I have a pretty low tolerance for pain though, and I doubt I'd be able to come up with a design I like enough to keep it forever. Nevertheless, I find tattoos pretty fascinating and every now and then I toy with the idea...
-
Rub-on tattoos are the closest I'll ever come to being inked! I have a horrible feeling that if I ever did get a tattoo I'd suffer from almost instant buyer's remorse
-
I have one, possibly two sessions left on a half sleeve on my left arm of hummingbirds and flowers, and one on my lower stomach.
-
I don't have any, I figure if I want one I will get a decent temporary one.
-
Nope I don't. Its not my thing - I don't do pain...and I have allergies... so no -although I've seen some really nice ones. I don't mind the temporary ones :)
Dad had one once but he got it removed.
-
None here. Maybe some day over the ridiculously large scar on the back of my leg from having a mole removed... Still debating on rainbow brite or smurfette there...
-
I have two, one is on my inner forearm so its usually visible, the other is on my upper back, so you can only really see bits of it peaking out of a tshirt.
I will get more, I love tattoos.. I hope to have a full sleeve on my left arm someday. but money is an issue, and im also somewhat allergic to the ink so, i end up with splitting headaches for about a week after. xD
-
Yes, and at least one is normally visible.
-
Getting one has never really been something on my mind, and I doubt it will ever happen. I don't judge those who do, though.
-
I think they are pretty but I want to be able to change it so I go with something only semi permanent like getting airbrush or henna done.
-
Im too chicken to get inked! xD Well.... I got inked by some kind of sea slug one time that spit out blue-black stuff at me on Longboat but as far as a tattoo....im too much of a coward! Im terrified of needles and have a low pain tolerance! I got my ears pierced and I dye my hair but thats as extreme as I will go! Watching my husband get his tattoo was too much for me. Im such a wuss! xS
-
Yes! I have seven, with plans for more. Only one is usually visible, but you'd be able to see at least three more of them if I actually wore shorts instead of jeans all the time XD
-
Not yet. I want a Superman tattoo, probably on my arm. Been thinking about it for years, but I can't afford it yet.
-
Not yet. I want something Gundam related and one other anime related tattoo. I need to find good tattoo artist.
-
No, and I probably won't ever get one... but who knows? They can be pretty cool after all...
-
I don't yet, but I do plan on getting one or two someday. I just need to work up the courage/save up for them. My bro has a few and I figure if he can handle the pain, then I can since he's got a pretty low pain tolerance most of the time.
I'm not sure yet where I'd get them though.
-
I want one but that will have to wait till I return to the USA
-
If eyebrows count then yes and after that experience I know for sure I'll never get a permanent tatt... OUCH !!
-
Allergic but if they ever resolve the "metals in the ink" issue, I would definitely consider it... I have enough scars on my arm to almost turn it into a scarification piece though!
-
I don't have one but am getting one in the future! My 3 sisters and I are getting Nesting dolls tattoos as soon as I gather up my courage; I'm the oldest so mine will be the biggest ^^;
-
Yes, two are always visible; they're of puzzle pieces on each wrist. When placed next to each other they form a small pic of a Japanese tsunami wave. I'm leaning towards getting a sleeve.
-
I have one on my left foot. I like wearing sandals so I can show it off. I plan on getting more at some point, once my Lupus is under control.
-
I have one, a simplified constellation of Aquarius under my left collarbone. I got it back in April. I plan to get more! My babe's legs and feet are covered in tattoos, and I love 'em *_____*
-
I have a couple. One of a shamrock on my shoulder blade & the other on my lower back is my old horses name cause after 20 years of putting up with me he deserved some recognition
-
I personally don't plan on getting any tattoos. I don't mind seeing people with them, though. :) They just aren't for me is all.
-
At the moment I dont have any,l but i would love to have one in the future! Maybe in some years when i have a stable job sice tattoos are always a problem when you are searching for one.
A Shark or a lioness whit her cub (for my mom, she is a fierce lioness to me) are my ideas for one!
-
I have two. The treble clef and bass clef symbols on my back where my kidneys should be. I got my firdt one before my 21st birthday and the second was a 28th birthday present.
-
Currently no, I have idea of what I'd probably get but I'm not sure if I'd do it. It's not really an option whilst I live with my parents as they're very much not keen on tattoos, or piercings (other than earlobes) or a lot of 'alternative' stuff
My ideas are an old style compass, which is an idea I've had for quite a while, and I'd probably get it as a shoulder or like middle of shoulders piece
Although I've also had ideas for what I think would be a calf piece to get a lemur done, maybe with some Madagascan flowers/plants since I think the lemurs I volunteer with would make for a rather striking tattoo
-
Not in a million years! While I don't mind seeing people with tattoos and everyone should do whatever they want, I personally don't like them at all. I just don't find them appealing, no matter how big or small they are.
-
I'd never get a tattoo. If I wanted to experiment a bit and try body modifications, I'd sooner dye my hair crazy colours or get piercings because they're not permanent.
That said, I know of some lovely tattoos that people have. I think the very simple ones are quite lovely, and I had a friend who lost his dad at 15 and tattooed his dad's name and birth/death dates over his heart which is such a touching tribute.
I think it's cool that tattoos aren't as stigmatised though as they were. There are a lot of really clever subtle ideas out there that go beyond regrettable bf/gf names and naked chicks.
-
I don't, and I probably won't. I haven't got anything against them. I do on occasion consider it, but there is no art I've ever seen that makes me want to have it added to my skin. And then on top of that the cost of them, I'd rather just buy ponies with that money. Haha.
-
I have a tribal butterfly on my right calf, my best friend and I both got butterflies of some sort in the same place to signify our long term bff status... And yes, we are still besties going on 29 years
I have always had another tattoo planned but too scared to get it done, as my body had such a nasty reaction to my first, my artist suggested that I don't go through with another.
-
I wouldn't consider myself heavily tattooed, but I do have quite a few pieces. I'm currently in the process of a leg sleeve - why they don't call them trousers, I'll never know! - which depicts cute, kitsch and comforting things which play significant roles in my life. I have a large thigh piece of Virginia Woolf, one of my favourite authors, and an author whose work plays a pivotal role in my PhD thesis. I also have two tattoos on my left leg, which will develop into a fairytale sleeve, four on my stomach and one on my shoulder. I predominantly cover all my tattoos, as they are on areas I don't normally show off, but I do love showing off my leg tattoos in summer.
I know tattoos aren't for everyone, but I see them as part of a process of reclaiming my body and making it my own. Curiously, however, many people can't understand that a disabled person would want tattoos, and they therefore assume that I can't have much pain in my legs! Luckily, though, I have many friends who recognize the fact that my disability and my tattoos are interlinked aspects of me.
-
"No and never will" I don't like pain. XD; Also, they're too permanent. I will occasionally get temporary airbrush tattoos or henna though. But I wouldn't pay for a henna though...as I can do that myself (except that I don't know how to make the stuff)
-
I would but the way my luck goes I'd end up allergic and it just isn't worth the trouble.
reds and pinks are most notorious for starting/giving allergic reactions
-
Oh yes, I love tattoos, although I can fully understand why other people don't like them as well. I currently have 3 tattoos and am planning a fourth; my current pride-and-joy is the compass from the American edition of House of Leaves, which is tattooed on the side of my neck. It's a simple, beautiful design, pertaining to one of my favourite books, and it brings back lovely memories of this Summer temp job I had looking after an art exhibition (becuase one day I finished my shift at the exhibition and then ran straight down to the tattoo parlour to get that particular bit of ink done!) Good times!

Not in a million years! While I don't mind seeing people with tattoos and everyone should do whatever they want, I personally don't like them at all. I just don't find them appealing, no matter how big or small they are.
This is me too. I have seen SO many horribly-done tattoos (especially scary baby faces). However, I LOVE the idea of reconstructive tattooing. If I ever had to have the mole on my face removed I'd try to get it tattoed back on XD
-
I have a horse head on my hip. It's usually always hidden so only a few people get to see it :)
-
I have two that I designed myself. Just tribal/blackwork as most colors wouldn't show up well on me (too dark and red toned). My youngest says that I have cutie marks that don't match. ^.^ :heart: When I got them some spots hurt/burned, some itched, and some tickled. The artist that did my second one said that his wife had said the same thing so placement is apparently key! :P I have a western-ish dragon chasing a pearl on one side and a gryphon standing tall on mountaintop for the other. I designed a pegasus around 12 years ago that I haven't gotten around to getting because I can't say I've found a good time for it. ^^;
-
I don't but I REALLY want to get one. My biggest hurdle is that I have a phobia of needles and I don't tolerate pain very well.
-
I would but I'm fickled and I don't see myself being happy with whatever I picked as a design months later.
-
I haven't got any at the moment, but I might get one at some point in the future. What's holding me back so far is the financial aspect, a low tolerance for pain, as well as being unable to decide on what I'd get. If I did get one, I'd want it on my left hip.
-
I have one yarn ball & crochet hook design. Now I want more! Just I don't think I'll have that in the budget for awhile. Trip to Disney World first!
-
All of mine are hidden while I live with my parents. When I move out next year Im getting a G3 pony sleeve!
-
I thought I might get one, but I'm very indecisive, so I never settled on a design. Then I discovered Henna. Now, I seriously doubt I will EVER get a tattoo.
-
Pinkie Posh: your plans for a G3 pony sleeve sound fantastic! Which ponies will you choose?
I'm hoping to get a my little pony sleeve eventually, too!
I have a Twilight Sparkle tattoo as part of my right leg sleeve which is currently a work in progress. I've just had a further session connecting parts of this sleeve, but it's currently healing, but when it's finished, I'd be happy to post pictures :)
-
I have five.
On my upper thigh on my right leg I have a bee, a cicada, a month, and a beetle all done in a vintage animal book style. (Like autobahn's bird illustrations)
And on my left thigh I have "vita nostra" which is Latin for "our life" meaning this is the way we live and no one else has the same type of life as we do.
I'd get more. I love the water color tattoos that are trendy right now!

 Rosedust & baby moondancer ♡
