Title: Found all my old Pullips' boxes. Trash them?

Hi guys,
I just stumbled upon all (!) the boxes that my old Pullips came in ("old" means that all my Pullips are from the first year/s they were produced in - Moon, Street, Wind etc.) The dolls have long been removed and reside on shelves. As you might be able to imagine, the boxes take up a LOT of space - space that I need dearly. But I'm unsure. Does it make any sense to hold on to them at all? Can anyone give me advice on that?

I try to keep packaging if the item is worth more than $50... But ugh, boxes can take so much room. I also have limited storage.

Instead of trashing them, you could put a feeler out if anyone wanted them. Someone might have a loose doll and would like a box.

I don't want to get rid of my old doll boxes (Pullip & Blythe) so I use them for storage. I keep delicate things (childhood plushies, very old small things, etc) safely tucked away in them, all put inside of a big box. It works out well for me.

I just threw out all of mine when I moved. It was hard, I really did want to keep them, but since I display out of box...just made no sense to have the boxes sitting around taking space. Don't regret tossing them though, I keep anything I don't have displayed in a completely waterproof sealed container, so didn't really need the boxes.

Well I think I would have kept them since it's the early releases. I trew out most of my boxes, but except a couple of customs most of my girls are Type 4 Pullips. I have kept the limited release boxes though. And it's useful now I have decided to sell a few girls, as I put them in those boxes until they are sold.

Some people might buy them depending on whose box it is, every great now and again I've had people randomly contact me wanting to buy boxes from me. I ended up getting rid of all but a choice few when I moved last year because yeah...

and that wasn't all of them, I completely forgot I had a layer of boxes between the shelves and the wall until I pulled the shelves out as we were moving and it's like holy hell where did all these come from  :shocked: . Now I just have the original Rozen Maiden set's boxes, Leprotto and Papin's box. I do have the Tokidoki doll boxes but the insides of those were all stripped out and I use those to store all the cards in, the boxes were too pretty to recycle.

Holy boxes batman!! That is a lot of boxes Klein.

I know that some people like to have boxes. So if you wanna take the time and sell them you probably could.

Personally, I never saw the value of the pullip boxes. You can't easily put the dolls back in and they're too flimsy to offer any sort of protection (as opposed to BJD boxes, for example). Plus they just take up So.Much.Space. Even when folded. I just trash all of mine the moment I get a new doll.

That being said, there have to be people who would like to have the original boxes. If you think you might want to sell (some of) your dolls later, save them, but I don't think it will make -that- much of a difference. If they're in the way and you need space, don't feel too bad about trashing them :) Or like others said, just use them to store other stuff in.

Don't a lot of collectors (not just dolls, but for all sorts of things) flatten the boxes for easy storage..? I'd think they wouldn't take up much space that way? I don't have any Pullip dolls (yet) so I don't know if their boxes are put together in a way that makes this impossible or not. ^^; I can never bring myself to toss the boxes from pricier things. XD

I had an attic full when I moved out of the house. It was insane. I finally just smashed them flat and threw them away. I would say since you have older girls, see if anyone would be interested in the boxes first.

The only dolls boxes I keep (other than BJD boxes) are Blythe boxes and shippers. Those things are awesome for mailing dolls!

I found all of mine a couple of years ago and I thought they were to pretty to just toss...so I cut the side panels off of them so I could keep the pretty flowery artwork, and tossed the rest.  I've used the panels in scrapbook pages and stuff like that.
