So we went yard saling, as usual. Stopped at one sale, and they had a few interesting things. A box full of vintage GI Joe vehicles (for $60), and a bunch of contemporary Polly Pocket for $20, and a bunch of contemporary Strawberry Shortcake for $20. I kept browsing, because I saw the carriage for Twilight mixed in with the polly pocket stuff, so I figured there might be ponies somewhere.
The fellow running the sale asked hubby if we were looking for anything in particular. Hubby says 'my little pony among other things'. So the guy running the sale says.... "Well, I have a bunch of the older ones, but you probably won't want to pay what I want for them." I spun around SO FAST and said "Try me!"
"Ok, well, they are inside, I can take you and show you if you want."
"Sounds good!"
We then went inside, and came back out with two bins full of ponies so I could look at them in the sun. I did a quick look over, and a head count, and came up with a number that I would be happy to pay. Which was only about half what he wanted. We went back and forth, and the lowest he would go was $160.
It's more than I would usually pay, even for G1's. But I wasn't going to leave them, they look like they are in fab condition (with a few exceptions, which were bagged separately, so I think they must have come from a different place).
For $160 I got 32 ponies, and a bunch of accessories. That works out to $5 per pony, if you consider the accessories a free bonus.
I will be adding to my own collection: Cranberry Muffins (factory curl!), FF Minty (upgrade), Moondancer (upgrade, look at that intact glitter!), Medley and Stardancer (upgrades, glitter), Starflower also has no rust! (upgrade).
There are a few oddities though - that baby carriage, has little 'knobs' to hold the lace on?
What is the pink parasol from?

WOW oh WOW! The pink canopy thing goes to the Lullabye Nursery - it's the shade for the swing.

Awesome find! They look to be in great condition. ^.^ Yes, that's probably more than I would have paid too, but honestly that's a good price, especially if you sell off your extras - you'll easily make your investment back.

Oh! I meant the other pink thing... the umbrella in the center of the accessories box. I think it might be Barbie, maybe? Doesn't seem to fit the pony scale?

Dudeeee... And the only MLP thing I ever found at any garage sale was a drawn-on, beaten up G4 Rainbow Dash.

Maybe he has a daughter or some other female relative who left her stuff at his house and didn't want it anymore? Or he cottoned on to the fact that ponies=money? what an amazing, incredible, fantastic haul! I am sooooo jealous! :biggrin:

How cool! $5 per pony is pretty good, though less is always ideal. :) Glad you could settle on a decent price, at least. Cranberry Muffins is beautiful! The rest are great, too. And there's some great accessories -- Megan's shoes (light purple, so maybe they're her nightgown 'slippers'?), Wavedancer's shell, Sea Shimmer's float, a princess wand -- very nice! Maybe the buggy has knobs on the top to hold the lace on? Just a stab in the dark, but maybe when it had BBE Cuddles they modified it like that because the old ridge for the lace didn't do well enough. Looks like BBE Cuddles is in the lot.
