These aren't the first articulated ones. The Rainbow Rocks Rockin Hairstyle and Sleepover dolls are also articulated.

The Applejack Rockin' Hairstyle's is probably the most aggravating to find! ><

Lol, I had been wondering where EQG should go in the forum XD I'm surprised it's not the dollhouse, though.

Megan and Molly go in the Corral too. I wonder if this should be merged into the existing Equestria Girls thread here.

Sugar Coat...what does her actual doll look like? :?

I wanted the musical Rarity with the Sgt. Pepper looking outfit but I don't want to buy online :/

I'm really thinking of ordering that Applejack from Amazon. I was trying to hold off, but really, they're just as much in the stores.

My Target seems to have the "Rockin Hairstyle" (deluxe jointed) dolls in right now,  although Rarity and AJ seem to sell out the fastest they keep restocking every so often.  However, they are $22 there which is more than Amazon and more than Hasbrotoyshop.

A LOT of the new dolls (Friendship Games jointed, new characters, and Rockin Hairstyle) dolls are on Hasbrotoyshop.com which seems to be the cheapest.

They have the Sgt. Pepper Rarity, Archery AJ, and even that new set with Flash and Twilight.  The jointed dolls seem to be $19.99 and the cheapo non-jointed $12.99
http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/SearchResults.htm?SWD=little+pony&PG=1&NPG=30&ST=NW

So tempted by some of the new characters, but I really hate the non-jointed legs and arms.

If you're able to find them in stores, Target's cartwheel app has a 20% off coupon for the Rockin' Hairstyle dolls going through Saturday I believe. I was going to use it to buy Rarity, if I ever found her in stores, but I ended up winning the whole set at the Fair so I'm not looking for her anymore. I hope this helps anyone! :)

I have that Applejack!  But that's because I won the 4 set of Equestria girls archery set at the raffle in the fair (yayyyyyyyyyy).

They're seriously gorgeous!  I was pretty meh on EQ dolls when they first came out but Rockin Hairstyle Fluttershy and Applejack won me over.  Now I just have to find room for my new 4.

I need Rockin Hairstyle Rarity and AJ and Pinkie but my nearest Target hasn't gotten anything new in the pony section.

Hrm, I don't think I've seen the ones with bows and arrows out in the UK yet. Or maybe I saw a couple of them yesterday in Smyths, but not Applejack? Trying to remember, too many variations on the mane 6 and I get confused. I dunno what US prices are normally like, though - is $21 a lot higher than normal retail? (since a lot of them in the UK are stupidly retail priced at £25 which is over $30 and I won't pay itttt)

I like the EQ girls better than a lot of the G4 ponies, and I like the animated shows for them better than the FIM series (especially Rainbow Rocks because of it's blatant nod to my other big collecting project, Jem), but I am being really strict with myself on buying them. My trouble is that I don't really want the mane 6 characters and the others are so much tougher/more expensive to find here, so right now I've been able to be good.

That is a really pretty Applejack though O.o.

I just bought the RH AJ off eBay...it's been shelves and shelves of Twilight for MONTHS here and it looks like they may jump straight to Friendship Games. I don't really like EQG but that AJ just looks too adorable to say no to!

I sort of put it in the dollhouse for a reason, but ok.

Thats fair enough, but EQG goes in the Corral as its an MLP line. Threads belong in the forum that pertains to their subject matter. If someone wanted to post a custom in the corral just because thats where they wanted it to be, we would still move it. This is the same.

They have been in the Corral for quite some time now :)

I dont really like big spam threads - I think they are often unfair on people whose posts could be over looked. We have a few on subjects that are easily curtailed in one thread (the Gameloft App, etc). But EQG is a big line with a lot of potential discussion points; its a shame to restrict it to just the one generic thread.

And thats a no :) We dont need further sub forums which simply dont get enough traffic by themselves.

On a serious note, the Friendship Games dolls are *just* starting to appear in store in the US, have faith padwan, she'll show up soon.

Okay, I totally get Applejack doing archery -- like, she shoots apples off of people's heads. ;) But I'm not so sure Fluttershy would excel at the sport.

It's more likely than the other two sports. Fluttershy definitely doesn't seem to be much about going fast.

Hmm, good point. Maybe she took archery because she wanted to be supportive and participate and archery was the "lesser of evils" among the activities.

I get that completely :) But doll people do hang out in other forums as well rather than just the dollhouse so I am sure you will get their thoughts here as well. EQG is just going to get bigger, if Hasbro is to be believed, its not fair to start spamming (because we do see more and more threads on the subject) a forum specifically for non MLP items with MLP releated threads. We are just trying to ensure everything stays consistent and fair.

Changing the subject back to the friendship games ponies, has anyone reported these in the UK yet? I found Lemon Zest and Sunny Flare in Smyths this morning for £9.99 each but I wasn't sure if this was common knowledge and I was just slow...as with EQG I am generally slow...

Rarity and Pinkievwere there too, and is it Sour Sweet with the bow? She was 19.99£ though and I don't somehow like her...

I found them here in Canada today! They're very cute, but of all the dolls to put joints on you think they'd be these ones! Sour Sweet is adorable but it bugs me that she can't bend.Retailing at $29.99 here....it's just too much.

I want to see an actual photo of Sugar Coat. She looks interesting! Although I'd like to get the Octavia doll and give the bow to her. (Octavia looks somewhat like one of my characters and that character excels at Archery. Maybe she and Sugar Coat could swap accessories or something? Who knows. :D )

Actually, Sour Sweet is one of the jointed dolls (she can bend her elbows and knees)  You can see how she poses in the amazon pix.

I only like the jointed one too-  I do wish they were also jointed at the wrist, but at least the deluxe ones are jointed at the knees and elbows  in addition to hips and shoulders (a must!)

OK I'm sorry but that screams Hunger Games to me.  Granted, I'm a fan of the Hunger Games movies and books.  I just get annoyed when other things are copied from it and have their own version.  Like the Nerf Rebelle, that to me also screams Hunger Games and I think that came out after the second movie or sometime after the first one.

In my opinion, it doesn't scream Hunger Games to. I thought of the Field Day (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_day) thing my elementary school did where they hold different events. The Hunger Games story isn't really all that original. Just because the Hunger Games is popular doesn't mean that everything similar to it is copying it. Based on the trailer, it looks like a Field Day/Sports Day story line. Not a survival type thing like the Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games follows almost the same concept as Battle Royale From 2000. (love that movie, also for another special reason)  And I bet that movie is also based around another book. ^^ Anyways Hasbro is really getting better and better. The only thing I was a bit sad about is the fact that you can't remove the arrow from the bow/string.
Title: Re: Seriously…. Equesteria Girls….
Post by: Taffeta on July 07, 2015, 02:55:54 AM
Hunger games is indeed just a Western rework of a Japanese concept that originated in Battle Royale, so accusing something of copying the copied is an ironic assertion to make. I never liked BR but I loathe when something rips an old concept and everyone flocks around it like it is new and special.

I don't see any link though. Bows and arrows had multipke used before that came out and I highly doubt the themes of it rekate at all to mlp and friendship, since it is all about killing.

Going back to the dolls, I hadn't seen Sugar Coat's image till now. I am now wondering whether I should have asked the guy who got Sunny Flare and Lemon Zest down for me whether ir not there were any others behind Sour Sweet. She was right at the top, though, and I didn't want her so I didn't ask...

It doesn't seem like she is out anywhere yet rhough.

Yeah, I first heard the Hunger Games jokes several weeks ago or so and was slightly disturbed, considering the subject matter of The Hunger Games. I haven't quite been able to shake the imagery yet, but I'm certain the Friendship Games will be pretty much the exact opposite of The Hunger Games. LOL. Or at least, that their intended goal will be the exact opposite. I won't be surprised if there's some bad attitudes and sabotaging on both sides and not just from Crystal Prep.
