Loved it. Totally want a pet Blue. xD I enjoyed seeing how the raptors reacted with the main character, and they were fun to watch.
Not gonna lie, I actually got scared a bit during the movie. Not in a "i cant watch this" way but a "OMG this isnt gonna end well". Like (spoiler warning):
Spoiler
Some of those deaths were something else. Like how the assistant (who was watching the kids) died? I was spoiled on it, and it was overhyped to me due to it, but thinking about how she died just.....yeah...
But did anyone else kinda get a ".....what? O.o " moment when
Spoiler
the main woman was running in her heelsto guide the T-Rex to the Indominus Rex?
LOVED IT!!!!
Spoiler
And i'm not ashamed to say, i cried like a baby when Charlie, Echo and Delta died. Literally cried. And i really wanted Blue to go with Owen lol XD I freaking loved those raptors.
I went for the dinosaurs. Screenwriting was not anything to get excited about, casting was alright but some talents were lost to their poor writing, some storyline decisions were absolutely poor. Overall, a very naive movie, but you have to go into it oriented so that it's a monster flick.
But I got dinosaurs. In fact, I would have wanted a little more dinosaurs. But the ones we do get all look decently exciting, Jurassic holds true to not overdoing the CGI and has some impressive puppeteering going on. Dinosaurs are big, bad and wreak havoc. This is what I wanted from the movie, and I was pleased with what I got. Would absolutely recommend it as a popcorn flick and seeing it in theaters pays tribute to the impressive sound design.
Overall, didn't love it, didn't hate it. Would see again, for the dinosaurs.
Spoiler
I'd see it again just to see the Indominus Rex escapes her paddock scene. That was intense.
I love the dinosaurs! I like how they conceptualise the idea of the park's reopening and how it plays out. Plenty of easter eggs too!! I wish there was more character dev on the two brothers though - I don't feel the older one at all.
AND.......
Spoiler
regarding the movie's pacing, it builds the climax so much that at the end it's just...... that. I was expecting an epic fight showdown or epic death scene of the cunning Indominus Rex. I was expecting the resolution to be way complicated than a hungry mosasaurus. That's my two cents!!
But did anyone else kinda get a ".....what? O.o " moment when

She had those on during the entire movie. I kid you not, they were on the ENTIRE time. Lady has talent for being able to pull all that off.
I saw it last Thursday at the prerelease and yeah..... it was AMAZING!!!! :yippee:
I dont even know where to begin..... its a worthy sequel. Its the sequel I think the world has been waiting for!!!
I took my Blue growler toy with me to the movies and wore my JP shirt, totally geeked out
Spoiler
I was amazed at how raptor whisperer dissed his lady about her not lasting in those high heels but she didnt even break a single shoe!!!! And she....didnt get eaten!? I loved Blue holy cow he is soooooo cute!!!! Him and Delta were so cute!!!!! I love the four raptors and the references to the first movie. I NEED all 4 toys of them to go with my Starlord figure. I loved how they had that asian scientist in the lab! *wink*
the only compliants were that the mosasaur was about 3x too big and those pet reptiles were CG (a monitor toungue on a cham? LoL). Raptors dont have feathers but it doesnt bother me one bit. Raptors were TOO CUTE! I loved how a lot of people died. I like to see dinosaurs eat people for some reason LOL im usually terrified of horror scenes but idk.... dinosaurs are just so cute!
I-rex is awesome. I cant stress it enough!!!!
I cried when Blue saved their lives and then just ran away.... I wanted him to stay with Owen as well.... OMG I CANNOT GET OVER HOW CUUUTE BLUE IS HOLY CRAP!!!!
Amazing movie! Im seeing it AGAIN with my bffs today! Who wants to come with meeeeeee!? *will share my $8 bucket of popcorn!*
I enjoyed it! Definitely not a movie I feel like I have to see again, but it was decent :) I was not pleased with the main female role at all. So typical of action movies these days :/ Where are my ladies that actually kick butt and don't have to run around in heels?
My favorite was:
Spoiler
The dude who grabbed his margaritas off his table and ran carrying one in each hand during the pterodactyl scene! I died laughing, but I don't think many other people caught it because I was the only one laughing :lmao:

I and my sister caught it, too. Not many others seemed to, since we too were the only ones chuckling.

haha I caught that as well! Apparently...

I thought it was ridiculous. But thinking about it again, Spoiler
I got the impression that she kept them on throughout the movie for a reason. Maybe the directors meant to portray it as a form of symbolism? I mean they're definitely intentionally placed in the film for a purpose, because I clearly remember Owen (Chris Pratt) had made remarks about her "ridiculous/stupid shoes" when they had first went off to look for the boys.
What do you guys think? I'm actually curious to know why they decided to make her wear the heels throughout the movie (despite it causing obvious functional inconvenience. Keeping your heels on while luring a T-rex out, knowing you'll be running for your life? Excellent move, Claire.)

I caught it and I was cracking up with my brother in the theater! Really loved that tidbit. :frolic:
I didn't buy the romance between the main characters at all--they didn't seem to have any chemistry to me--but hey, I enjoyed the dinosaurs!
The only thing that made me go "Really now? REALLY?" was
Spoiler
Indominus Rex being smart enough to know what the GPS tracker under her skin was and tear it out.
But I liked most of the movie. The final fight was amazing.
Oh, also
Spoiler
the T Rex at the end was supposed to be the same one from the original Jurassic Park. She had scars on her from the raptor attack in the first movie.
I was a little nervous to see it, because I LOVED Jurassic Park when it came out. The 2nd and 3rd movies I can take or leave, but I definitely enjoyed the 3rd more than the 2nd.
Anyway, I was really pleasantly surprised with Jurassic World! I thought they did a great job honoring the first movies without making it completely cheesy (all the references and easter eggs!). I also liked that the dinosaurs (at least some of them) were given a bit more characterization, as opposed to just being giant monsters. It really drove the point home that these are living creatures, not just creations.
A LOT of it was really predictable, but action movies and action sequences often can be, so that didn't surprise me and it didn't make it boring for me.
Spoiler
I always get more sad about animals dying in movies than people dying in movies, lol, and this was no exception. I'm still sad that probably all the petting zoo dino babies got eaten.
As for the female lead, I thought she was quite strong! Maybe not as strong as Dr Satler, but she was strong in her own ways, and I liked her. I didn't feel like I needed to "buy" her romance with Owen, because it's something new - they only went on like one date, if I remember correctly? So while they know each other from work, it's not like they were ever friends or anything for a long time and already would have that kind of chemistry. Their budding romance feels more real than any insta-love nonsense most movies try to feed you.
And I can definitely buy her being in heels all day and even running in them! Many women are very used to being in heels, and move around in them quite well. Also, if they're built correctly, they can be just as comfortable as flats or sneakers. A friend once told me that heels designed with exotic dancers in mind actually are some of the most comfortable shoes, even though they look like they'd be the worst - simply because they're designed with the fact in mind that the people wearing them are likely to be on their feet in them for hours at a time. Sometimes more "everyday" style heels are just designed with fashion in mind, not function as well, plus a lot of people who wear heels don't adjust their center of balance and gait for the style of shoe. You aren't supposed to walk the same way you do in flat-soled shoes as you do in heels!
