Hi! I never should have looked at ponyqueen's adorable holiday set-ups. The flocked animals are a hard temptation to resist and now I must have some. I already own some of the houses (I used for g4's)
Okay, so I did find some good sites and after some researching I think I kind of have a grip on what company does what and some families I have to have (I always have a hard time not buying those adorable babies at the TRU).
I want some bats. Has anyone ever customized these guys? I think if I use the right markers (fabric) I can color a chihuahua into a bat then give them wings on their arms. I googled it and came up with nothing. I'd also like a scottie terrier family and saw they have Wesites who, when turned black, could be scotties. What do you guys think?

Well, I think you've seen my favorite flocked critters... but about customizing, I'm considering it! I have a lot of bunnies for the Easter scene, and some doubles of white bunnies that I want to paint. I'm thinking about using rit dye or even watercolors to tint them earth and rainbow colors. My biggest concern is that the color would "leach" into their clothes, furniture, or worse- each other.
I can't give you feedback on results though- I haven't tried it yet! It's on my very long craft to-do list. :)

I haven't tried customizing myself, but I've seen some pretty nifty cheetas made from bears. :) To my understanding, it's tedious work colouring the flocking so that it would stay at least remotely soft. The flocking makes it all too easy to ruin the critters with customizing attempts. I'm afraid I don't have any tips though.

I've always had miniatures of some kind but I've never gotten any flocked animals (though I always love them and that little motorcycle with sidecar always calls to me!). Now I give in. Now, which family to get first? The tuxedo cats or the sea otters?...
Thanks for that cheetah link, those are SO CUTE!! After asking you guys I found this thread about completely new paint and flocking that has me fascinated. Maybe I will even fully customize someday...

I sold most of my Sylvanian Families a few years ago...still something I try not to think of as I want to kick myself repeatedly over it :( Hence why I like hanging around here to see the adorables :P I did keep my favourites however - which were the grey cat and the hedgehog family as well as the ice cream cart! :heart:

So the Tuxedo cat family came home with me today :D :D :D I gender swapped the adults so the black cat is the mommy now XD Hope to get some pix soon ;) Next week I may go ahead and order the Sea Otters (so CUTE!).

Teehee! I love the Tuxedo cat family. I specifically wanted the black cat for halloween, and I stole the dresses from the girls for my Easter bunny critters- the colors are perfectly pastel for springtime!

I wanted the black cat too XD. I think I will get her a fluffy tail though. I have 2 black cats in real life and I just think they are super pretty. I am making my black tuxedo kitty a pretty dress. It's a great use for my lace scraps!
I just realized that I need to come up with names for my kitties. O.o Do you guys give your critters names and jobs/stories?

Ok, I picked the names Thomasina, Clarissa, Molly and Cecily. I can't wait to get one of the babies! They are so stinkin cute!

They come with names and backgrounds, but I strictly ignore them- some of them don't fit the critters. Like the Furbanks Squirrel family are Hollywood hotshots!? Um, no. You guys live in a cottage in the woods and eat acorns.

I tend to not do canon stuff either. Especially since I make custom clothes for them. I blew my toy allowance on dolls this week but I am hoping to snag those adorable otters soon!!

I too have succumbed to these adorable animals! I always see them in TRU, but never got around to purchasing any (I was usually on a dolly hunt). I really :heart: the lamb and panda families! I also saw pics of a monkey family (who I want so bad!) which I think are part of the Japanese counterpart, Sylvanian families. Even my bf thinks they're cute (his miniatures are Legos and Warhammers, :P ).

YAY! Another addict! I am currently drooling over the tuxedo cat triplets (the tinier the better, right??)
Also, am I weird in that I see cats as girls and dogs as boys? I just look at the cats and they all say 'we're girls!' to me.
