So my bestie is a fan of jackelopes, so I browsed the internet for jacklope gift ideas for her birthday. I came up with crocheted mounted-heads on boards which were cute but alas, I can only crochet a square. And not well.
So I decided to try sculpting one. His antlers aren't my favorite but yay! he's done and loved <3 that makes me happy. I may try to sculpt some fake deer antlers sometime for myself.

Oh gosh! Clever - did you sculpt that all? That is great!

Wow Salli, that is marvellous! I love that it's all white, and of course the sculptwork is exquisite. You have a lucky friend!
I'm curious though, how big is it? It's hard to tell from the photo. :)

Wonderful work, the surface looks so smooth I wanna pet it and on top of that it's cute as a button! :frolic:
Now I wanna make more mounted heads, I made five of them when I was in junior high and it was super fun.

Thanks guys, the head is life-sized. I wish I had had more time to really sculpt the antlers. I did sculpt it all over wire mesh.

Thanks, I thought it might be life-sized. It must look even more impressive in person!

A few weeks working on it here and there. Although most of that was redoing the left eye 500 times. XD
