I went to build-a-bear at the Providence Place Mall yesterday and made Luna. I was happy they had plenty of her and I was surprised that she was $27. I figured she and Cadence would be the same price but she was more expensive than Cadence too.
I asked if I could order Shining Armor online through the store and they said no and confirmed I had to have a credit card to buy it. So, it seems the gift cards are only good in store or as part payment online. I also got half off a $10 gift card, because I spent more than $30. I didn't get any extras. I did donate $1 to St. Jude's. I usually do. I also have Rarity and I noticed Luna is a little bit bigger than Rarity too. The only thing I wish is that Luna has the hoof decor like she would normally have with her TV character.

I went ahead and bought Luna offline, and got one of their easter bunnys for 5$ (a promo they're doing) so I got me and my daughter easter lol

That's really unfortunate that there is no way for you to get Shining Armor without a credit card :(
I, too, found it odd that both Luna and Celestia are $27 while Cadance is $25. There shouldn't be any price difference. They are the same size and Cadance has multiple hair colors too. I don't understand the price difference at all. I was happy about it since Cadance was the one I wanted though.

My assumption is that they expect Cadence to sell more, and so have priced Luna higher to offset the lower sales (when I bought Luna I asked how well they'd been selling and was told that more Cadences had been sold. Whether it's because she's featured more heavily elsewhere in the toyline than Luna so kids recognise her more or just because she's pink and appeals to non-MLP fans as well I don't know).
It's possible her price will increase later, too - Spike was originally £8 here and then increased to £10 about a month or so after he was released for unknown reasons.
