That magikarp.... :drool:I have no idea.. :blush: Some of the plushies are Jakks, some I got from the Japan Pavillion at Disney world, some came from other swaps on here and some I got from sellers in china but I am guessing the Chinese ones are bootlegs? I am pretty sure I got 'Karp from Disney world so I am assuming it's legit. They were celebrating the 10th Pokemon Anniversary at the time and there was a whole wall of pokemon goodies from the pokemon center.

How do yall feel about art? Is there a particular way you like art to be presented? like do you prefer ATCs that you can store in a binder with sleeves with your pokemon cards, do you like full sheets in a page protector in a binder, do you like cards, envelopes, bookmarks, ect?I love art! Especially of my trainer and/or my team (especially my Absol though, if it has to be the one)! Any size is good, I keep all art that I receive :)
If you have cheap things on your wish list, is it okay to find something extremely similar? Or have you listed things because their authenticity/country of origin/language is important no matter how cheap they are?The only two items that are country-specific are the two boxed Absol items, since I have all other boxed versions of those two figures. Anything else is fine!
1) Use common sense. If a rare plush is $5 and the seller has hundreds of them, its a good bet that its a bootleg. TIP: Check to see how many the seller has for sale. If it says "More than 10 available" on a rare plushie, then you know they are mass producing bootlegs.
2) Avoid sellers from Hong Kong and China. I know this is rather prejudice against sellers from these two countries, but the fact of the matter is that most of the bootlegs come from these two countries. Its better to be safe than sorry. All the Pokemon plushies are made in the factories in China, so it makes sense that the bootlegs also come from this area.
3) Don't rely on a sellers feedback. Alot of people make this mistake. Just because a seller has good feedback does not mean that they are selling legitimate plushies. The sad fact is that most people will leave positive feedback because they simply aren't aware that they bought a fake plush.

OMG I just saw the cutest vulpix cookie cuter on etsy :PIm pretty sure I have seen that one!!! I saw an eevee and siting pikachu one that I would love to own someday!!! Those would be very good for making clay ornaments!!!!

I don't mind muk or grimer. I think the only one from the original pokedudes that I really do not like is mewtwo and electrabuzz. Ooh and Zubat. I don't have a 3DS, so I am pretty clueless about the newest generation.
a note to my partner i generally don't like popular over hyped pokemon such as pikachu mewtwo lucario etc as i feel they get so much attention and merch (although i do really like charizard but hes a dragon so i have to make a exception) also i dont hate any pokemon, but pokemon of inanimate objects don't appeal to me. also note if i have a pokemon listed that in the middle of its evolutionary line I like that one way more than eather of its evolutions such as groyvle and nidorino.

I finally got round to doing my wish list and taking pictures of my not so impressive collection -_- compared to others here it is nothing :cry:I totally created Leafeon. Well pretty much. I always loved the eevee evolutions but when we played in the neighborhood there were kids that each claimed the 3 that were out so I had to make my own. I was a vegetarian so it seemed appropriate to make vegetarion a leaf version of an eevee evolution. Mind you this was back in 1996 so Leafeon was not out yet. I was dumbstruck when Leafeon first came out I remember flipping out and screaming "I made that! They stole vegetarion!!" I wonder if the kids that we use to play with look at Leafeon and think "oh snap that girl we use to play with created that!" I honestly think my version was a little more flashy and even though I don't care for new pokemon all the eevee evolutions still find a way to make it into my heart.
can I just mention that I read the name zubat earlier in the thread. I must say this pokemon is the only reason that I always have an electric type pokemon in my party because I can never knock it out with any other type. they are the bain of my life when I am in caves as I need to swap the pokemon that I would have in slot one on order to get out my electric type. fewf rant over haha

No own trainner/image but when I was little and pokemon had litterally just come out, I was the young person that loved horses so you can imagine that ponyta and rapidash where the favourates at the time but I did sort of design a pokemon but based on a water element and one on grass types. I just wished that I had kept the pictures. haha sad but I figured they needed more horse types. the water one was called droppletmon (I was crazy on digimon as well when I thought of them hence the mon at the end) and the grass type was leafymon not very original but hey I was young
I cannot wait for partners then I can start shopping properly :biggrin:

Just wondering as there are a ton of figures and plush out there!

Ugh, so I just got home from a VERY long day of running errands and shopping. Can you believe I didn't find even one tiny pokemon sticker, let alone other pokemon stuff, in any of the stores I visited? I swear the last time I was at Big Lots they had tons of Pokemon figures, but I couldn't find ANYTHING there today! I feel a bit discouraged, BUT I've pretty much already purchased the regular limit worth of items for my partner online. I actually did go to Gamestop, where they had a small selection of Pokemon items, and found a plush I had already purchased online (thankfully the Amazon price I paid was cheaper!). Unfortunately, though, in my searching for Pokemon stuff I discovered that some new Ponies were out in my stores, and there went my bank account balance! (Sort of kidding. Only sort of.)
I did realize, however, that anyone who asked for "general kawaii stuff" for extras will be really easy to shop for because EASTER! Season of pastel colors! ;)

Well, for my part, I just made a wishlist of things I found that looked cool. As I said in my post, the wishlist is just a guidelines of the types of things that I like. But you know what? It would be very hard to go wrong with me. Even if somehow my partner ended up sending me a Trubbish figure or something I would still love it. It's still a pokemon and sent with love (well, I guess)!

I have a question to add - Partner, do you have a DS/3DS/N3DS, and would you like a Pokemon-themed sock-type cosy for it?I have a DS lite (Pokemon Diamond/Pearl edition!) and a very boring, not-yet=decorated 3DS. The person you are buying for is NOT the person who is sending to you. ;) Sometimes, you get only 2 people in the UK or canada and neither want to ship internationally, so they end up being partnered together but there are several europeans and a few people willing to ship internationally so the partners are random. Although they were not randomly assigned by me as some people did have requests and others asked for handmade items and most americans don't want to ship interationally...so yeah. In response to the poster abive with the music- looks like im...dragon and fairy? xD I LOVE J-pop, pop music, neo classical, and classical music in general. Its got to be sweet, happy sounding, and soft. I cant stand really anything else, but most electric guitar music and drums gives me a migrane LOL especially the stuff my husband listens too @_@ he likes thrash metal and al lthese metal bands from sweden, norway, etc. Ugh i need like five excederin thinking about it!

An item arrived today and the post has not being kind to it the box is smushed. Not happy. I had got one for my self no that is in the same state. Luckily I ould open the box with out breaking any seals so it is currently under the book case trying to iron out :blink: I am not sending it back because of it being from China otherwise I would.Im sure maybe your partner wouldnt mind the figure loose! I find them at the large walmart supercenters near the trading cards!!!! No leafeons yet....only Sylv, Eevee, and Vap. I feel stuuuupid for not buying him....watch LOL i will never find him again.....like that eevee! :( I am missing all 3 of those TOMY plush! I might go back up just to buy it. Are good websites where you might be able to find some ideas. Bear in mind some ideas are pre-orders, though, but everything is genuine and is usually muuuuuch cheaper than paying UK prices. I use the first one semi-regularly, and have bought from HLJ twice, but all three have good reputations.
Pokemon stuff comes up on UK anime FB pages a lot. Can vary between well-priced and over-priced, but it might be worth a look?

Not sure who ran it over it droped out at walmart and we didn't realize till after we left. We came back and one family was packing their things as we looked they asked if it was what we were looking for. Sucks it came all the way from japan only to be run over when it gets here. :(

yep thats normal you always get a reverse but not always a holo or ultra rare and AWESOME cards. Me too, apparently....They didn't have full art or EX back in the day - just "glittery" ones. I do have misty's gyrados and seadra that are shiny and have pre-release stamped on them.

They were those cute little flocked ones with the elemental hair and symbols. I ordered from a china vendor as well. Wouldn't it be crazy if they sent you MY tracking number?! I'm always looking for crazy coincidences like that!

OMG I SWEAR you and I are the SAME!!!! I was obsessed....I mean super obsessed withpikemon when it came out!!! ANY oppurtunity I had I bought pokemon cards or pokemon toys. Especially at garage sales! I ACCIDENTLY broke a door and got in trouble, and my stepdad at the time (i have had many a stepdad) threw all my pokemon cards away. I got depressed and started to stop eatting, i noticed my Misty doll was missing and i tore my bedroom apart looking for it. Stepdad throws almost all my pokemon items away- including my electronic lugia (my original one) who I saw break its wings off and throw it into his work compactor....... i can NEVER unsee it.

Little did my mom know I have aspergers syndrome which made it a zillion times worse for me. My stepdad blamed my bad grades on pokemon... i heard him tell my mom that that was the reason he did that to my pokemons. Luckily.... I had my gameboy hidden at the time in my stuffed animal collection so i still have some or my original toys and games. But trying to take something like pokemon away from a child's life forever is horrible. It really f'd up my childhood and i went to therapy for years because of that. Im glad my mom divorced him.
Now its my life-time goal to recover all the older pokemon toys I once had!! Im actually pretty close!!! :-) i have actually sooooo many more pokemon cards and toys than i did as a kid!!!! It's super convention season right now, and I went to the wrong one for Pokemon stuff (I went to Emerald City Comic Con). While there was a lot of Pokemon art by various comics artists, that was pretty much it. xD

I have a tiny bit of nostalgia for the 4kids dub of the original anime, but I find it unwatchable now I'm less naive, as it's one of those aggressive Western-ised monstrosities that removed a lot of cultural references, and Celestia knows what else, for no logical reason (it was so confusing to me as a kid that they aggressively called the onigiri "onions", when they didn't look like onions, nor is it common for people to eat whole onions....). Ah, the 90s.

I wrapped up all the art I did for my partner a week ago and now I'm making more art oops :blush: So there's gonna be a bunch of packages full of art :blush: :blush: also I'm sure everyone knows if theyve seen me in other swaps I am terrible at wrapping things :blush: But it's what's inside that counts ^.^I don't think anyone will judge you for your wrapping skills. I bought some art prints today at the convention. These are all mine, but my partner has a few too (not pictured because I don't want to spoil anything).
They're the size of Pokemon cards, so they can easily fit into card sleeves. I make it a point to buy several of these each year because look at how cute they are!

I was thinking about doing this, but since I'll be using a flat rate box I don't know if the post office will let me? I guess I should ask the next time I'm at the post office.I draw on them or put tons of stickers/deco tape on them all the time ^.^ All I ever get is odd looks from the PO.

yaaaaaaa!!!! I was so nervous about that (insert a possibly not so friendly adjective here) Mug! All I could see was it chipping or getting messed up. I was so worried because I put alot more into it than I feel like a mug should have in it! I tried a ton of different types of sharpies and different baking temperatures and DIY tutorials on pinterest until I finally got the one that worked and didn't wash off with a scrub cleaning so I was gonna be upset if it broke on its way to you!

I really hope my swap box gets to my partner ok! Its been so rainy in the plains lately. Im excited to recieve my own surprise swap box, but im mega-super excited for my partner to get the one I sent them! I really hope they take lots and lots of pictures!

Weren't we able to kinda track US packages bound to other countries via the customs number?
I know I was able to for the Candy Swap - my package went to wiccanpony and I was able to use USPS till it left the country and then I was able to see when it was delivered via Royal Mail. ALl I am getting now is Sorry, tracking isn't avalible on this package to (country).
It went regular mail not priority international.
Yes! When i did a christmas ornament swap to someone n Finland the customs ID was the tracking number! It should work! =O

Got an attempted delivery slip though the door this morning, for a special delivery parcel. Can only think it came from here so..... gonna pick it up tomorrow!

My packages get left outside as well, on the porch. They only take it back to the PO if it requires a signature and no one is there to sign for it. Since I live in a small town in Northeastern NY, I guess it's ok.

Oh well. :( I already sent the seller a message through Paypal and haven't received a response, so I hope something bad hasn't happened to her, but also it's not very nice if she scammed me.
Got home and thought my box had arrived.... But when I looked properly it is the treats I bought for the ponies. But from a distance in a dark hall way you can under stand how I could make the mistake :blush:Lol, I know the feeling! I got a box a few days ago and thought that either it was my order for the last items for my partner or that it was my swap box. It wasn't either! It was some ponies I had forgotten I had purchased from an arena member (I guess I forgot because I was so wrapped up in this swap!). :D

To be honest, I found the one I bought completely accidentally. I was looking for How to Train Your Dragon stuff at the store Party City and instead found Pokemon stuff! They didn't have anything else I wanted for the swap, but I couldn't leave the tin behind. It was too perfect and had to be used as a gift box :D

Also I have a pink slip in the mail for a package!!!! :mail: Its either my swap box or case for my new nexus phone!!!! Sadly its Sunday so my office is closed tomorrow.....guessing what the package could be is killin' me because I have to wait until monday!?

Whomever my swappie is (eeeep if you know do not tell me pweeeease! x3 ) I just wanted to say that i will totally understand if you had to ship late! Things come up and people forget or wait on stuff plus the mail is a little slow right now and we are all human after all! No matter who its from or how far or close its from Im 100% sure since its pokemon I will LOVE it and I know it will be worth the wait! I would think that having packages coming in at the same time as a swap box would make it more fun because then you really don't know what your getting. Is it the swap box, something you ordered? You never know until you tear in to the box! (Or unless you read the return label, but who has time for that ;) lol )
