Title: Target Exclusive Line: Power Ponies
Post by: TornadoTwist on March 07, 2015, 12:55:39 AM
Source: http://www.mlpmerch.com/2015/03/masked-matter-horn-twilight-brushable.html

Well this came as a huge surprise! This Twilight Sparkle brushable was found and it seems like she's themed after the Power Ponies Episode! Twilight Sparkle got transformed into the Power Pony named "The Masked Matter-Horn"

No thanks. Use the Power Ponies designs from the comic, not the Twilight&friends versions of them.

Looks pretty nice. I may have to get it when it comes out....if it comes out at a good time.

I adore her, but I'll get excited if/when we get confirmation she (and presumably the others) will make it outside the US and not cost loads to import

:really:  Trying to figure out what her base plastic colour is and what parts are painted... It's a very interesting shade of red she has there, I'd like to see some OCs done in it. If both the head and body are cast in red it would be a piece of cake to strip off everything else.

She reminds me of Shadowbolt Rainbow Dash in design, maybe she's the accompanying Collector Series single release to the assumed flower-power favourites collection.

I love this red color, they must keep this color for another pony that would be awesome.

I actually kinda like her, but I won't be buying. I don't want a million Twilights :(
I guess we should be looking forward to the others then?

Interesting that she has a short forelock again, and a rather uneven one.

What is this...? *backs away slowly*

I like that color of red, but it should have been saved for another pony and put with colors that work with it. Also: it's another version of Twilight. While I would like one of the earlier versions of her where she does not have wings, I honestly have no desire to start a Twilight army. (Rarity and Fluttershy take up enough space already, and I only have two each of them in brushable form.)

Say it with me, Hasbro: New Characters. New. Characters. Got that? Maybe? Kinda? Sorta? Just a little? Also: Boys would be a welcome addition. (Not holding my breath, though!)

I understand that the mane six are popular and that there is going to be more than one version of them since that is how the Friendship is Magic cartoon is written. I got into MLP from the cartoon.

Yet even I am getting tired of seeing them released over and over...

Especially when the unique characters Hasbro does release tend to be a pain to find, only release in certain areas, or wind up having trouble showing up locally for any number of other reasons.

Sorry guys, but between the fact that I don't like her design (the colors don't work together, in my opinion) and the fact that she's another TS, I just can't get excited.

To quote Rainbow Dash in 'May the Best Pet Win': "Pass".

Kinda wish it was the comic book version of Masked Matter Horn and not Twilight.  Missed opportunity, Hasbro!  Then again, we got Spike as Hum Drum with Mane-iac last year, so it's not too surprising.

I'll probably still get this, but...meh.

Seriously, I cant be the only hyped one!?? At least it isnt a normal-looking clone brushable. If they HAVE to release the mane 6 I think this is a more appropriate way than reversing the cutie mark display side, adding tinsel, etc. This is something different looking to me and I LOVED the power pony episode!!! Sure... I perfer new charactets but maybe Hasbro has more surprises for us too.

I loved the Power Ponies episode too, but even with new outfits this is still a mane 6 member and...ugh. We know what the original Power Ponies looked like, why not use those designs?

As I said, though, we got Spike as Hum Drum already so this makes sense.  I hope we at least get the rest of the ponies then, and not just Twilight.  I'd love to set up a little scene of them battling the Mane-iac.

It would be cooler if they had made the ACTUAL power ponies as brushables, not the Mane 6 dressed as the Power Ponies. Eugh.
Title: Re: Power Ponies Brushables (Twilight Sparkle)
Post by: TornadoTwist on March 07, 2015, 07:03:59 AM
I like her a lot! I can honestly understand their decision to make the Mane 6 versions because most kids will remember her from the Episode. Their regular forms are only visible in some of the IDW comics and quite unknown for the most children. So that's why I think they decided to make the mane-6 version. Because children can identify them much easier. And besides, we will get a lot of new characters with the yet unnamed Flower Line. So I honestly don't see the problem with the whole "mane-6 repeating thing" here because it fits in this case.

The details are lacking but I was still excited:) If you're going to have a variation of a character, this is how to do it! Not just adding tinsel and eye cutie marks. I hope we see the rest of the set!

She reminds me of Shadowbolt Rainbow Dash in design, maybe she's the accompanying Collector Series single release to the assumed flower-power favourites collection.

I agree.  She has a far more extensive paint job than we have seen outside of the TRU single exclusive.  It just makes sense.

I don't think that I am going to get her though. Her colors just clash to me.

This is my guess,
but I'm disappointed that's probably what she is.
I have Shadowbolt Dash, despite my one pony per character rule for my collection, but I'm not much a fan of the Power Ponies episode or designs. If she does turn out to be the TRU single, she'll be the first in the series I'll probably skip. I had my hopes up for Maude or Daring Do to be the single, because of that poster. Hopefully they'll still show, preferably without the extra designs.

Oh man... I just don't know about this. The colors are unique but not all that pretty to me, and the paint looks like a bad custom. Maybe if the end product has some nice details to it rather than being so simple... but as it is I'm not a huge fan.

I want to be excited about Maud, because she's one of my favorite characters, but it's kind of upsetting it looks like she'll be released covered in markings. Can we please just get a regular brushable of her?

If this is going to be one of those single releases like Photo Finish, Shadowbolt Rainbow Dash, and Zecora I'll definitely be picking up two. It looks as if she is cast in dark red plastic and the purple and blue is painted on.  If that's the case it could be totally acetone'd off.  Alicorn or not having a plain pony in that color would be cool to have sitting around. Paint on a totally different cutie mark and TADA! World's easiest custom. XD

I kinda hope she isn't. She's too plain for what they charge. Photo Finish had an actual fabric outfit and Shadowbolt Dash at least had Glow in the Dark paint, while Zecora was made of actual Glow in the Dark plastic. I mean I'm kinda expecting this to be a Target exclusive with a few others like the Power Ghouls and that the TRU single is going to be Daring Do with her hat.

On one hand I like the power ponies and I think it is kinda cool that we're going to get toys of them

on the other hand I'm not sure about this design, it look a little busy and messy.

This is why I wish the toy designers were allowed to design the ponies for the show/ comics and not the other way around.  I just find these colors very unappealing.

Hasbro used to design the toys and then have the animators include them as background ponies.  Now the media is dictating the toy design and it is leading to a lot of ponies with very muted designs/ colors.  I know some people like it but I really miss nicely designed ponies like Dewdrop Dazzle and Blossomforth.

I think we'd have a LOT more pink ponies if that were the case, then. I looked at my G4's the other day and though I don't have ALL of the uniques (main characters excluded) it's still a sea of pinks and purples... Same with a lot of the G3's I have as well. I'd LOVE to see more muted pony colors. I think unappealing colors on ponies makes them interesting in my opinion. It also makes said ponies feel a little more spontaneous, especially if we're supposed to swallow the fact that these colors are naturally occurring for them if you're taking the cartoon into account. Not every pony would be born with colors that all align nicely on the color wheel. Throwing a wrench in that "aesthetically pleasing" engineering every once in a while is a good way to shake things up a bit. G1 had all kinds of ghastly colors and even gimmick ideas and look at how much love G1 gets.

Eh, I think we would have the exact same number of pink and purple regardless.  That's the one thing that the market would make sure of.  That's why we had Pinklestia and then Cadance.

I understand that not everyone is going to like the same thing, but the reason i like Mlp is because of the pretty candy colored ponies.  I have other options, like Breyers, for naturally colored horse toys to collect if I wanted to.

I'm not talking about just neutral, realistic colors specifically. A pale blue or burnt orange is more along the lines of what I'm referring to. Uh... Maude Pie I suppose is a decent example. Overall she is very purple, even her coat is a purplish gray. She has totally unrealistic colors but they don't smack you in the face or pop as brighly as Rarity's mane or Twilight's coat.  You can still have candy-colored horses while still maintaining a darker end of the spectrum. Ironically a good part of the FIM fandom has the opposite opinion. OCs with lots of vibrant color schemes are often criticized a lot more due to their bolder colors as the colors of ponies in the show often do have softer or even pastel color schemes.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that I  do indeed love brightly colored ponies just as much as the darker ones. Some of my favorite G1's all have near-neon colors in their manes and tails.

Lol, I think you are XD  The Power Ponies are not the mane six, but rather the mane six were filling the Power Ponies' shoes for a while.  That picture is a photoshopped version of the mane six to look like the 'original' Power Ponies. The reason you don't remember the original Power Ponies is because they were only in the comics

I feel like we are coming at this from different places and so are never going to agree.  The crux of it is that while I watch and enjoy the show, I am not a fan of FiM.  I am a fan of MLP the toyline.  And I like pretty colored ponies.  To my own artistic sentiments, I am seeing a lot of ugly or uninspired color combos coming from the show/comics.  *shrugs*  That's just the way I feel.

I'd be more interested in these than dressed-up mane 6, even if the outfits do clash. I'm so over mane 6, no matter what the gimmick. I really don't mind muted or natural colors on ponies either.

Oh that's cool!  I hope they do the entire set-

As much as I like different characters- I don't think it would make sense to do the "original" power ponies vs. the MLP:FIM characters dressed up as power ponies- more kids will have seen the cartoon (which never shows the original characters) than the comic- which is a spin off anyway.

I've always thought the designs of the Power Ponies were a little clashy and questionable- but there are a couple that I really liked- and it would be fun to have the set (if only to go with my Mane-iac pony!)  I only wish they would do a good job with them and not take shortcuts like painting only the outside of the hooves (which I'm sure they will do to these ponies)

Curious to see the final product for sure!

That horrible moment when you remember the Fair/SDCC exclusive last year and how a set of the power ponies would go along with it so they make that this year's exclusive.

It's unique enough, but I'm probably gonna pass. The colors aren't really my thing and I wasn't a massive fan of the Power Ponies episode. Cute idea, though.  :)

I agree. Not because they wouldn't be a good exclusive but because I'm not going to either event so it would be hard for me to obtain. Plus if they are exclusives then that shoots the whole new colors for custom bait thing out of the water.

Not necessarily-  Hasbro made very large edition sizes for both the DJ exclusive and the Mane-iac exclusive- and both were available for quite some time in the Hasbrotoyshop after the SDCC.  I'm sure Hasbro (who is in the business to make money) will continue that model this year.

HOWEVER I doubt a set of Power Ponies would be the Hasbro exclusive. Too boring!  I suspect that the Power Ponies will either be a TRU SDCC exclusive- or maybe their "fan favorites set" (originally I thought those sugar skull type ponies would be the set- but now there are too many of them).  I can easily see TRU having the Mane-iac included in the set using the Princess mold.

:really:  Trying to figure out what her base plastic colour is and what parts are painted... It's a very interesting shade of red she has there, I'd like to see some OCs done in it. If both the head and body are cast in red it would be a piece of cake to strip off everything else.

She reminds me of Shadowbolt Rainbow Dash in design, maybe she's the accompanying Collector Series single release to the assumed flower-power favourites collection.
very good point. i assumed it was her regular color.
but i think you're right, she looks like the red is the base color.

Mm.. I'd rather have this than another Twilight Sparkle but with extra symbols/another streak in her hair/tinsel/glitter/etc, but she's not really my style so I'll pass. :) I do like how unique she is, though.

There are just enough of the flower decorated ponies for a TRU multipack. While there were other ponies on the poster they might not end up as brushies (tho one of them could be a special single brushie like Photo Finish) and they very well could be mini figures or Fashion Styles.

TRU isn't the only one to have multipacks. Didn't Target and Costco both have multipacks a little while back?

I actually REALLY like the Mane-iac (ugh, that name though...yuck) in the little pony body rather than the lanky Princess pony body.  And, I really like that Fluttershy as well.  I've got kind of a feeling that maybe *this* would be one of those TRU sets.  Kinda hoping it's not, because that Twilight...absolutely not.  But I guess if they have the rest of the ponies and they do for me what Fluttershy and...villain pony...are doing for me, I'd be willing to shell out the money and just give Twilight to my bff's kiddo.

I think we all know who it would be. :(

If I'm correct, though... the Canterlot set that was exclusive to Costco had 7 ponies.  So there's still some hope!  I just hope it won't be Costco exclusive because not everyone is a member there or knows someone who is (I sure don't).

those mismatched head and body base colors will either be a nightmare or a blessing for people using them for customs...
though at this stage i doubt too many people are thinking about that.

They probably didn't use the Princess mold so this Mane-iac would be different enough from the exclusive one. I do want her though.

Not sure about the rest of the set. I mean, it actually ties to the show and isn't just weird decorations splattered all over their bodies, but... it's also the Mane 6 again.

I think that Hasbro decided to go with the Mane 6 instead of the original Power Ponies, because I really don't think that their colors would appeal to children at all, whereas the mane 6 are a tried and true group that get a lot of sells. Not knocking the Power Ponies, but their colors are just too dull to really make a lot of money on and it would be a humongous risk on their part if they tried selling these designs. Quite honestly I do not blame them.

On another note, the color theory on their designs hurts me. Dull colors can be used and still follow Color Theory. Most of these designs do not. That might be another reason that they decided to stick with the Mane 6.

Did anyone else notice Fluttershy's neck plug is the color of her suit? I think that their heads are made out of their coat color, and their bodies are cast out of the color of their suit. So custom makers, you'll have the body color but will more than likely have to match the head up :(

I also don't see these being SDCC, theiy will either be a Target or TRU exclusive, no doubt. Even if they followed a specific "6 character limit" who's to say that they won't change up the formula? I don't see why they would exclude our beloved orange mare from this set, at least I hope not! You can't have Power Ponies without all of them!

Can't wait to see the rest :) I want these!

So far only Twilight seems to have her head cast out of the same color as her suit. That's probably because her head is mostly covered by the mask. Going by that Rarity has a tiny mask so her head will likely be a different color from her body but Pinkie and Rainbow Dash have huge hoods that almost cover their heads. (So does AJ but hers doesn't match her body). That means Pinkie could end up a white earth pony and more excitingly Dash could end up a black pony with rainbow hair.

Laziness at its finest. I'm sure its the reason we don't have earth and Pegasus boys. Hasbro is content with doing the bare minimum because they know they can keep selling the same mane 6 ponies over and over again, because people will buy them. Also keeping the same two basic poses for everypony. Look at the art they still use the same artwork from 5 years ago on some, its lazy.

Oh I know Hasbro wouldn't dream of doing that!  They're way too cheap, haha.  I just wish she was in an altered alicorn  mold because that's how big she seemed to be in the show.  But if they made a wingless, shoeless princess body, they could use it for other ponies too (like Fleur)!  That'd be nice...

Ugh, a second year of main 6 for the Toy R Us pack?! I got the first two, but if there is only going to be one new pony in the pack, I think I can skip. Even when dressed up in new jumpsuits, I just don't have any room left for more main six!

I kind of like Maneiac, but she's the only one, and I hate the cheapy look of when they only paint stockings or details on one side of the leg. I'd say "If only they'd make fabric clothes again," but with G4 I know better by now.

You call it lazy, Hasbro calls it a smart business decision. Let's be honest, thanks to the show this strategy is working.
Even a lot of the older fans would rather have something related to the main cast/fan favorites than some random background boy pony.
I have seen enough "ew, HasbrOC" to know that. I think collectors really are in the minority at this point when in comes to new characters.

Wasn't totally sold on just Twilight but i really like Fluttershy and the Mane-iac. They look awesome :D Now if they do go all the way and produce the whole mane 6, how are they going to do Applejack? Her hair is wrapped in green cloth, but not entirely. Her forelock and tail tip are still yellow. So are they going to just give her green hair with some yellow at the front, or ignore that entirely?

This also extends to a lesser extent with Rarity who has gems in her hair, but if hasbro are smart they'll just make her some cheap hair clips.

I'll be getting the 'group' if that is how it is sold. Just for the Mane-iac. and not because I like her, but because I want a new color purple for customs, assuming the costume is painted on. I really hope they are sold separately or in affordable pairs.

I did like Rarity's costume. I wouldn't mind having her, but then I would need a complete set, so I'll have to think more about weather I want when we see a leak.

You guys, there's a reason why Mane-iac isn't in an alicorn mold...its because the alicorn mold has wings and a horn. And Mane-iac has NEITHER. She just a whacked out earth pony :P

And I highly doubt Hasbro is gonna go the extra mile just to make a special brushable mold for Mane-iac :/

Smart to an extent, but mostly just lazy and cheap. I was referring to Big Mac, Dr. Whooves, Soarin, Guard Pony, etc. anyone would love to have those bronies included. I have seen lots of posts that people want Changelings and Guard ponies to build armies. No one would be saying ew HasbrOC at those.

Well, no. Dr Whooves is a "fan favorite" and Big Mac is hardly a background pony. Not really the characters i had in mind when i said "some random background boy pony". : P (Frankly i couldn't care less about a Dr Whooves brushable. That bland looking horse has had plenty of merch.) You also forgot little girls...don't know how many are sitting around going "i sure wish i had that random guard pony".
I'm not saying i LIKE what Hasbro does but i don't think this has anything to do with being "lazy". If a company can make lotsa money with less effort...that's smart. That's a planned strategy and not just them twiddling their thumbs. People like to forget that, in the end, they kept this toyline alive for about 30 years.
It's also pretty obvious by now that they are expanding the pony line in different ways. Brushables no longer are their only concern.

I think the customizing potential for the main 6 ponies in this set is pretty good so that's a plus. The ponies are different enough and the set includes a new character so I don't mind getting another main 6.  Uh oh, is Hasbro's black magic finally working on me??

Mane-Iac has been found in her box! Seems like this will be a target exclusive line. :) There's a high change Argos will list them too as well just like they did with the Wild Rainbow line. I bet several Toy Stores in the Netherlands will release them as well.

Oh- she's so cute!  I am surprised they made her a tiny brushable size- but I still like her-

I wonder how much she is going to cost?  My guess is $15-$17, which is a bit of a bummer.  I would actually rather have had the entire set at once- since it tends to reduce the cost of the individually packaged special ponies.  But I'll take what I can get!!!

Hope they are going to do the entire set- it would be weird if they just did 2 + Mane-iac- wouldn't it?  Although some of their costumes strike me as somewhat challenging to translate into cheap brushable...

I am basing the estimate on what Shadowbolt Dash and Zecora cost-  I think their prices did eventually fall, but they both started out at my TRU for $16.99...    (of course now Dash is still available at just $6.39 online- so I guess it pays to hold out for a bit if you can!)

Title: Re: Target Exclusive Line: Power Ponies (Mane-iac page 9)

They were high for a few months- right at and around ComicCon-  and they kept selling out in the stores- so TRU could get away with it.  I think there was this perception that they would "run out."  But people (myself included) forget that the TRU exclusives are not limited editions-  meaning Hasbro will just print more if TRU orders more-  which of course they did since they were selling like gangbusters... :D

I think anything that is going to be super popular will probably be priced high at first, sell out and be hard to find- and then eventually be in stock everywhere and go on sale.  I think even Zecora was easy to find after a long while... (although she seems to finally be gone)

Zecora was made out of glow plastic and Dash had glow paint accents. Tbh I don't think they will be much more expensive than the Pinkie Pie Boutique sparkle ponies or the Wild Rainbow CMC.

At first I thought Pinkie looked like a Colorswirl Pony but uuuuh.... not sold on her pink "mask" on a white pony (yeah, I know she is pink in a white suit but... you get the idea).

I understand why people are excited about these but at the moment they are all passes for me (unless we've got a "Black Rainbow Dash"...)

Zecora    started at 10.00  normally as did   Rd   and   Photo finish.

I'm hoping they'll be a set of six (plus Spike), but that might hurt the UK's chances of getting them as we haven't had any of the large sets yet (no Costco set, TRU picked up Ponymania but skipped the large set, no Favourites Collections). Tad concerned if they're released individually then they'll be expensive to get the whole set as the Wild Rainbow ones were 50% more than regular brushables.

Oh well that looks about how I'd have expected Rarity to look-  how odd that they painted only one of her sides- why do they think that is okay? I just don't get it-

She might be pretty cool though with some minor customizations and be-dazzling (that's my plan at any rate!)

I guess just AJ is left? Hope they don't skip her.  Based on Pinkie I don't see them doing a wrapped mane/tail.

AJ and Rainbow Dash.

Looks like I spoke too soon.  There's Zapp!

I plan on customizing that Rarity a bit too, but she looks exactly how I expected.  Kinda tired of them only detailing one side of the pony though...

Yeah- Dash is on ebay for $15.99- the same seller (junjie1007) seems to have all of them (except AJ)  - seller also has the Pony Mania ponies-

I do hope that AJ is coming- guess I'll keep watching this seller...

I'm disappointed that her head wasn't black too. But I guess a head repaint is still easier than a full body repaint. At least I won't need to worry about getting between the legs which is the worst part of fbrs.

I am surprised they went with the tuft of pink hair- it looks a bit odd with that serial number there

Why would they have painted RD's head black?  The cartoon didn't have a black head?

It kinda looked like her hood covered her whole head. Tho now that I look at AJ it seems hers is more likely to be made of black plastic with her face painted on. Hmmmmm.

I like the Rarity and the Mane-iac. If they're not "overpriced", and if the box looks like that image shows it to be, might need two of the Mane-iac--one to have loose and one to display in the box. :)

Since Mane-iac has shown up as an individually boxed exclusive pony are we expecting all the main 6 to be sold separately, or do you think they'll come together in a collector's box?
I think the only way I'd want to buy these girls is all together and keep MIB if their box art is awesome. ^.^

Looking forward to seeing what they do with AJ because of her costume's wrapped mane element... if they give her partially green hair I will laugh. :P

Well after all that whining about the anticipated TRU price- my willpower was shattered and I picked up an advance copy of the Mane-iac from that Mangoflavorcm seller-  here is my rationalization:
1) $14.99 isn't too bad of a deal- TRU's price will likely be similar, given how fancy the packaging is;
2) the seller is very nice and trustworthy.
3) I don't want to wait until August for my pony (I'm guessing these will be released around the time of SDCC)

I wanted the rest but will resist. There is a decent chance they will be released in a box-set- and if so will be a much better deal... (plus the packaging might be fairly cute)

Oh right- Target exclusive.  So maybe they will come out soon! I know that the packaging has been spotted, but I didn't think these were in any stores yet are they?  That would surprise me

So looking around- I THINK the only packaging photo that has been spotted, was from Taobao
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

So the ponies could hit the shelves soon, or in 3 more months, it's impossible to say.

Judging from the price of the Cutie Mark Crusader Rainbow leg ponies which were packaged similarly and which also had some slightly fancier paint (I think they were like $14 at our Target) I suspect she will be priced similarly (or possibly slightly more expensive - at least until she goes on sale).

I am very much looking forward to when someone spots some packaging for the other power ponies! (And I do hope they don't skip AJ)

If they include Applejack I'll buy TWO sets of these!  First off, how often do we get ALL of the mane 6 in a single release -this is seriously the first time I'm excited about having the mane 6 in a new release- and also... Power Ponies!  I'd definitely want to keep one MIB and take the others out to set up an epic fight scene between them and the Mane-iac. :silly: If there's no Applejack then I'll get Mane-iac and maybe wait for the others to be discounted.

Wow, I didn't even like the episode they were in but I still love these.

Looks like Applejack has an orange head with black detailing painted on.  Too bad, it would have been really cool if customizers could have mixed-and-matched for a completely black pony base.

Edit:  Applejack is STILL the only pony with eyebrows, I don't understand this.

Still not crazy about Twilight, but I love some of the others and I know I'll want the full set. Lucky for me, my bf lives in Pennsylvania so Target leaving Canada shouldn't be as big a hassle as it otherwise would have been. Still, I can't wait for the reaction when I explain what I need him to buy from Target when these release. Ah well. He did it for Skylanders and he bought me my first ponies. He'll sigh a little, but he's generally a good sport. :)

Are we sure the base is orange? Tho even if it is covering a few small spots is still easier than a full repaint and at least the mane area is black already.

So AJ doesn't look much like the cartoon version of herself hmm?-

I guess I am glad they went in the direction of leaving things off rather than painting them on badly, as it will be easier to use this pony as a custom base to make a better designed version of the same.  You could make the lasso and magnet out of apoxie or something, and try and wrap the tail and mane yourself using some kind of tape...

For this line I wish they would make the two boys on each end the one with Aqua/purple hair and the one with red/white hair. Those are ones I would actually buy. They could use the same mold for all five of these ponies. If they had a Big Mac mold they could just use that for all five of these would be great for the line!

FS Power Ponies? Sweet! I wonder if all of the Power Ponies will be getting a larger size. I certainly hope they do. If they're not too expensive being Target exclusives and all I may just spring for the larger ones as opposed the standard brushables.

A shame they're still making FS with those wings and not the prettier ones on the G4zillas but whatever. Want!

I totally agree that the FS wings look terrible but at least they sit nicely between the head and rear. The Zilla wings have nicer sculpt but the way they're molded onto the body bugs me a bit more than the overall look of the FS wings. They sit too far back on the body and look like they're growing from the pony's hips.

Still no sign of what the Equestria Girls releases will be. Is it bad that I'm hoping for a six pack of all the Power Ponies Humanized? I mean Target has had 5 packs for Monster High, 6 packs for Disney Fairies, and 7 packs for Disney Princess.

Oh hey! Maybe she'll make it to the US for once, being a Target exclusive and all (and no Target Canada anymore to take stock).  :P

It's neat that they are all getting FS versions too, I assume a Rarity leak is right around the corner.

Edit: Just noticed on the AJ it looks like something green is peeking out from behind her. Looks like she's coming with a tail ribbon?

I think they could manage cramming three of them in the one pack, with a box of a similar size to the 6-7 pony Favourites Collections. Two 3-packs would be nice... I can just imagine if they shipped them individually, all the Applejacks and Rarities disappearing in 3 seconds flat, and a few weeks later the aisle is a desolate wasteland full of Pinkie and Dash.

You can be guaranteed that they wouldn't put PP and RD in the same set if there is two sets.  They will force us to buy one or the other.  I think it's more likely there will be 3 sets of 2, though.  Rd, PP, and TS will each be packaged with one of the other three.

Oh yes, it would be ridiculous and expensive but I'm all for convenience. I hate hunting for ponies in waves, to get them all at once would be perfect for me... I don't even know what store here in Aus will stock these if any at all though. At least they're not a convention exclusive so we can all enjoy them, even though that would make sense.

And a single Filly Second, Mistress Mare-velous, Zapp and Radiance (which I snagged...had trouble deciding though to be honest XD)

so I picked up some power ponies today.....they are weirdly done with what's painted and what's not....I'm not sure I like it, so I'm not sure I'm going to keep them or not.
--pack #1 twilight, fluttershy, spike fluttershy's body is that green/teal color and her wings are *painted*. Twilight's body is red. her wings and all the purple on her face (ears/mouth) are *painted*
--pinkie pie is white. the pink part of her face is painted (which looks weird to me personally)
--applejack - red body, orange head with black paint and tons of goop/glue on her forelock
--rd - entire body including wings *painted* head normal with paint additions

the FS 6 pack ---applejack has a black saddle accessory, which is cool, but not reason enough to buy the larger size

I picked up the entire set of brushable Power Ponies and find them extremely cute!  Will have to add pix...

I will get the big FS set if it ever goes on clearance. Otherwise it is a little too much (and I am running short on space anyway)

Plus the little guys fit in better with the SDCC Mane-iac in my humble opinion.  Of course I got the little Mane-iac too (she is really cute)

If anyone feels like they need last year's Mane-iac- I do actually have an extra set

Actually - the Fashion Style one were at the City Target about a week ago- are they sold out now?  They were quite pricy at $65...  but I know the Northgate Target had them for $50 (more typical)

Went to my local Target today, and the website said all the Targets in the area were out of most of the Power Ponies, but they had all of the individual brushable sized ones (a TON of Mane-iac) and three of the full sets.  It was calling my name, but I couldn't afford it, so I just grabbed a couple of brushables.  They also had some of the newer Equestria Girls, Rarity's boutique (for $29.99) and a bunch of water cuties.

I went a few days ago, and my Target had been picked over completely. One lone Filli-Second, and maybe three of the Masked Matterhorn/Hum Dum packs. Plus a few water cuties and Aurora plush key chains.

must be because of their bogo 50 % sale ,I was able to get all of them during their sale :)
The castle was kinda hard to find but I got me a couple of each, since I collect 2 sets, 1 to keep mib and one to open.

I know they had them this weekend (My friend works at that Target, hehe)   I told her to get me a set when they go on sale.  They appear to only be stocking a couple sets at a time, so if you don't see it out, it may be worth checking with someone to see if there is one in the back...

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in picking up a set of the FS Power Ponies and trading them for a Giant Plush G3?
My Wysteria is looking for a new home and I desperately want this set.

I've now got all the standard size brushables but Rainbow Dash.  I went to every Target in the area today and she was nowhere to be found.  Just in the few days since I picked up Applejack and the Twilight/Fluttershy/Spike pack they got cleaned out of almost everything but the FS set.  Each Target I visited had at least two or three on the shelf.

And now not having Rainbow Dash is going to drive me crazy until I track her down, lol.

I have a complete set for me and elfpony....except rarity
I finally saw 1 rarity in the store today and I left her because there was a huge scratch to her DS eye paint. it was really bad. :(

the singles are hard to come by. the stores have plenty of maniac, the twilight/fluttershy/spike 3 pack, and the FS set, but the singles...they don't seem to stock more than 1 of each at a time

My Targets are doing that too sadly :/ I think it's ridiculous...

have you guys checked the endcaps? Our Target, in the actual MLP aisle, isn't stocked very well, but there are two endcaps FULL of the Power singles.

My Super Target does that. My regular Target only does that on occasion.

The line is pretty nice, but... these days with G4 something has to really, really grab me in order to make me buy more of the mane 6. I'll probably skip these for now.

*large sigh*

Does anyone else hate target.com??? Seriously, it's the most unreliable website I've ever seen for a store... Their updates on stock are totally slow, and impossible to trust... I've only seen two power pony brushables listed so far, and they're gone now! Why can't they be consistent??? I'm lucky I got those links when I did, or I wouldn't have the one I got today and another on the way....

So, I have to admit, I love Saddle Rager Fluttershy. She's so cute and has SO MUCH HAIR, it's ridiculous. It's thick, soft, and super long!

The FS or regular sized one?

Regular brushable. She still has an enormous mass of hair, especially for her size. It's like, at least six inches long, and each plug seems to be rooted thicker than normal. Plus, the direction it's rooted makes it gather forward, so it feels REALLY thick.

I was at Target at the mall last week and saw the power ponies but they were the fashion style sized ones and it had all the ponies and the package was around $60.  I was curious about the set but I don't think I'll get it.

If anyone is interested, I have all six of the Fashion Style girls listed individually for those who don't want the boxed set. Check my signature links for photos.  :)

Man... I'm a bit torn with these. I have Mane-iac, and she's the only one I really really wanted. Maybe I could see myself getting the brushable size Power Ponies? I'm trying not to rebuy the Mane Six that much though, for the sake of space and cash.

you can use the app on your phone, or you can do it online and print the barcode to bring with you to the store.

One more question, do you need a Target account for it?

I don't think so? I have mine connected to my Facebook (you earn achievements for certain actions, which opens more available spaces for coupons).
