So who remembers Popples? I was grubbing around in the attic and found a vintage baby popple in a bin full of Beanie Babies, and I found a rereleased Popple from 2001 that I remember buying at a Ross. I guess their rerelease failed miserable. I have a feeling that these guys have been in the attic for about 10 to 15 years.

Popples are the best!
The 2000s-era Popple line diverged too much from the proportions of the original, IMO. I didn't care for it and I wonder if that's why it didn't succeed?
The original Popples are soooo cute and full of personality!
-
Congrats on rediscovering them!
-
There will be a new show sometime soon. So excited!
-
When I worked at a daycare, they had a blue Popple with a super hero cape! I wanted to bring it home with me so badly!
Popples are awesome.
-
Pop-pop-pop-popples! I love Popples, even have a few VHS tapes floating around (that I haven't watched in years). I only had a small one with plastic arms and legs that's all pink, Pretty popple?
-
None for me but I definitely remember them :)
-
loved them as a child!
-
I loved them as a kid. I had one of the rock and roll ones, a bunch of the mini ones (like 7 or 8), and few other miscellaneous ones.
-
I have a green Popples. They remain great.

Oh, and a Popples sticker album too!

I used to have the baby Popple....Bibsy. Horrible name. I named her Baby Rainbow when I was little. Had her til I was well into my 20s.

I have a knock-off bunny popple (my mom says he's a real popple, but I can never find him on in any IDs, and he doesn't quite look the same), and hubby has the baseball (real) popple.
-
I have a popple in need of a home if anyone wants them, please pm me.
-
Almost forgot, I had a small yellow popple in the back window of my car. He was so cute and fuzzy, a puffing popple, potato chip (he was weird but so cute I wanted the world to see him). Then somebody broke into my car stole my seat covers and the Popple. I think I have 6 Popples now, but they're packed away in storage except for my small one and a big pink one, I just checked her name, Party Popple.

Maybe it's a French one - the Euro Popples had animals like "Cousins" as well! Parrots and bunnies and dogs I think...

Wow, you have a good selection there!!! I have the girl rocker Popple, the smaller-size yellow one (Potato Chip) and a few of the Pocket Popples, which are really super sweet with their PVC faces and arms.
-
I used to have one. Wonder what happened to it?
-
I have Bibsy, bought him at a flea market a long time ago. I actually like the rerelreased Popples, they're kinda cute.
-
Kiwi, it could be a real one. I know I've seen a dog one before.
I love Popples!
Here's my plush collection. Not the best pic of them. I looked for Pancake Popple for years and years and I finally found her at a local flea market that hubby talked me into going to :) I only paid $5 for her- I was so excited.

It is possible ... I seem to recall that there were indeed also animal variations ...

No, mine doesn't really have that popple look (head is different). This is the closest I've found in Google searches, but still no real ID info.

I have a decent-sized Popples collection that I periodically think I'm going to sell or at least stop buying because I have very little nostalgic connection to them (unlike with MLP), but then I look at them and can't bring myself to sell them or pass them up when I find them second hand XD Thankfully I don't find them often.
They do seem to be hard to sell, but maybe I just haven't really found collectors. I have two for sale once I get around to it, so we'll see.

For Popples that were played-with, often the fur on the head gets pretty matted and that lowers the collectibility. Alternately, I think that people who collect vintage plush are fewer in number than collectors of other types of toys, simply because plush toys take up so much more space! I have really resisted the urge to get into collecting plush extensively. Of course, if I find something really good at the thrift store, it WILL come home with me

Yeah, that's definitely a problem with one of the ones I don't want anymore. I got him for 50c at a yard sale but it turned out I already had that one, also not in great shape.

I know ghost of the doll has a good guide for the, though they are in need of pictures of a few sets.
-
I still have my original white Popple. I think her name is Puffball. She's white with a blue tummy.

I really really really want the medium-sized green one with orange hair and I have been scouring thrift stores for decades... oh the hunt!
-
hehe Popples are super cute :) I love them! Cant collect because my ponies already overtook my whole collection room, but once in a while ill take one home from a fleamarket (IF I find one lol). My daughter has a big blue one and Ive got a tiny white one from my childhood. I remember I adored the little guy back then <3

(I only have pictures of the ones I want to sell, not my whole collection, sadly, which is in a box in the attic. I really should make a list of all the ones I have, just for my own records.)
-
Those are great, Elisto! I would love to see a pic of your whole collection ^.^
Here are the ones in my collection. The small Potato Chip was a great deal for one in basically mint condition a few years back -- I had the same one as a child. The Rocker Popple is a newer acquisition.

I didn't even know those Rocker Popples existed...I think I kind of want one...
No, look what you guys are doing! I'm trying not to get more! XD
-
I love Popples! I think they're cute! I have a Pocket Popple I keep in my car because I love them so much on my dashboard. : ) They're sweet. Didn't know about the show but happy to hear about it it sounds fun don't know when it will come out I hope to find it when it does.

This is what the Popples that were released in 01 look like. I only have one, Polka Dottie Popple

sorry about the size.
-
Wow, so I just checked eBay's completed listings prices for Popples and I had no idea they could sell for so much! I guess I had been thinking they, like the MLP plushies, didn't sell well because of the shipping costs, but clearly I have been mistaken. Now I really am thinking of selling my collection XD

I really really really want the medium-sized green one with orange hair and I have been scouring thrift stores for decades... oh the hunt!
Putter was really hard for me to find, too. He was the second to last one I found and I got him at an indoor flea market.
I remember one time I was at Goodwill and I had just searched through the stuffed animal bin and this guy comes by digs straight down to the center and pulls out a Potato Chip Popple- I couldnt believe it, cuz she was one that I needed for my collection. He took he up and bought her- I was so sad that I had missed her.

THAT IS THE SADDEST STORY I HAVE EVER HEARD.
(OK, maybe not the saddest but that is TRAGIC!)

:( This is my biggest fear when it comes to thrift-store hunting!

Actually if I remember correctly I was still searching through the bin when he pulled it out. It was like he knew exactly where to pull it out of- like he stashed it there. My hubby(then my bf) offered him more than he was going to pay for it- he tried anyway :) of course the guy refused. I did eventually find her online, but I was never that close to finding something for my collection and watch someone else buy it in a thrift store.
