Title: Poll: What prizes would you like to see?
Post by: Loa on February 26, 2015, 05:48:29 PM: We have a LOT of stuff coming up soon in the way of competitions, and I want to gauge what people would be thrilled to receive, what they would hate and what they would eBay the next day!

We've had a lot of people volunteer before, as a chance to expose their work, and for fun.

One year BM made poker chips. I've never been able to find who made them, but they were fantastic!

I would love a lot of stuff, but what would I hate? hmmmm. Really weird looking custom ponies is all I wouldn't want.

What I would want would be things that I can't go buy in the store right now or cool merch or something. Handmade would be cool. Yeah, basically anything I can't just go buy!

Not ponies or accessories, just fun things like lunchboxes or mugs? :shrug: To be perfectly honest, I'd take just about anything pony-related for a prize. :P Though I don't think G4 stuff would be interesting to everyone...I say vintage or handcrafted. Art's cool too.

I'd love to see a mix of newer G4 stuff and G1 stuff, personally - cuz sometimes I'm behind on new G4 releases, and I love G1 a bunch. :P I like the idea of custom prizes too!

One thing to remember if you can...the heavier the item the more painful it is for us to ship :) What other kind of things would you perhaps like to see with the Arena featured on it?

If some of the money went into the design and provision of MLPArena merchandise to help keep the site alive, I'd support that, too. However, I'd be sad to see money spend on prizes for competitions. :blush:

Now don't throw rotten tomatoes at me! ;)

Items like, small decals for car windows (or decorating things, like water bottles, computers, etc), reusable shopping bags, drink koozies, keychains, a GOOD Tshirt/hoodie design, lanyard, mug, mouse pad (perfect for being on the Arena), and I would totally geek out over a coloring book for my DD that included lineart of the Arena pony and any other donated artwork!

For competition prizes, what about a free month of premium membership on deviantart? So many of the members here use da to show off their work. Pony items that are harder to track down (i.e. Rainbow Power Daisy Dreams/AJ, Holly Dash, etc) for some countries, Arena mugs! Dollyhair gift certificates? Mystery bags?

Maybe the bundle prize can be the choice of the winner, especially if they couldn't attend a certain fair but wanted the stuff. Maybe it's too big of a prize.

I was going to ask this, too. I could probably come up with a few customizing supplies and maybe a Mod could piece together a few "custom starter kits" for interested winners. Bait, hair, rehair tool, etc.

I don't draw but if there are any artists that would donate prints, that would be a fun (and cheap to ship!) prize. Some of the artists at the past few Fairs have had great stuff from all gens! I just feel in love with the artwork and would really love to have more!

I think setting up a shop on one of the sites that allows folks to chose what they want would be awesome.

I am also open for donating some items for an auction or raffle. Sadly money I do not have but stuff and talent I do.

They are different things. Most prizes come directly from our own collections and pockets. :)
