Title: Your MLP Fairy Godmother
Post by: ValeofSpring on January 29, 2015, 08:28:39 AM
You collapse on the floor, sobbing. Once again, in the last second you've lost an eBay auction for the highly sought after BBE Baby Shady. "Life is so unfair!" you cry out as you stand up and race through the French doors that lead from your bedroom to the garden, where every day you arrange and play with your MLPs.

All at once, a bright light appears, and in the twinkle of an eye, an old but beautifully dressed woman appears! "I am your fairy godmother," she says. "I am here to make your MLP dreams come true!"

Waving her wand in the shape of a rectangle, your fairy godmother creates from nothing a shimmering door that looks like it is made from rainbows! "Go through this door, my child," she says, "and you can re-enter the toy store of your choice in any year, in any place in the world, from 1983 to today. In that toy story, you can take off the shelf FIVE pony items of your choice--ponies, playsets, Pony Wear, merchandise, etc. Then re-enter your own world through this door. But--" she said, with a look of concern, "you can't sell or give away the ponies you bring back. If you do, they will turn into pumpkins! But it's your choice whether to open them or keep them MOC."

You grasp the shining door knob, and enter. What do you choose? Remember, you can only pick FIVE items that would reasonably be in the store at the same time--so no G1/G3 mixes, etc.!

Ooooh, great introduction for this funny game!

Let me think, fairy godmother... I'd like to go to Year 5, to an UK toy store with that famous 'wall of ponies' and get... Princess Amber/Starburst, Quarterback, Kingsley, Creamsicle and Salty the Sea Pony.

(I'm not good with G1's timeline, but I think I've got everything right...)

This is a very fun idea!
I would like to go back in time to 1984 and bring back...
Moondancer, Seashell, Bubbles, Glory and... Twilight! And I would be immensely overjoyed. :D

Ooooh!!! That's a hard choice!!   I might have to take a trip to Europe... when were the Dutch ponies and German Rainbows released? Whatever year that was... I'm there! (and then I might have a hard time choosing which ponies!)

Hmm, so one door right and one year?  That makes it a bit harder lol!

My first inclination was to pop over to Germany and get the Nurse ponies with their hats I've always wanted, but then I realized that I could jump over to 1986 and get five of the six flutter ponies, crispy and nice in their neat new boxes with wings fully intact!

Or maybe I'd jump over to 1989 and get a lovely set of Merry-Go-Round ponies....  or maybe 1988 and get Nightglider, maybe Munchy and the Big Brothers...

Probably I'd run out of time and the door would shut before I could decide

Wauw, now that would be cool.  I would go for:

Baby Buttons

Baby Butterscotch the Greek version

Butterscotch also the Greek version

Baby Applejack with all her Baby accessoires that came with her pack

The schoolhouse playset G1 version

Thank you very much Fairy Godmother!

Hugs
  Robin

Daddy Berrytown, Daddy Sunbright, and Daddy Meadowsweet, are all locks for me. If I could find newborn Baby Moondream and Jazzie (with all her wheels on!) that'd be super-bonus!

Ahh, I'd have to go to a US toystore and get a Lavender Dream Castle, all complete and minty with ribbons and goblets and everything! That locks me in to Year 7 or 1988... I wonder, would Pony Friends from the year before reasonably still be on shelf...? I'd love to get those four, especially Oakly and Edgar. If not and I have to stay in Y7 releases only, I'd choose a nice bright blue Dainty Dahlia, the 3-pack of the Apple Delight Family (counts as one item, right? :ninja: ), Lemon Treats, and the Pretty Pals set with Baby Lucky Leaf and Baby Leafy. Gotta love those Pony Friends!

I'd go back to Year 6 and stay right here in the U.S.:

Night Glider
Tex
Salty
Chief
Steamer

I never had any Big Brother ponies.

  Great story!

Lightning, Fireball, Ice Crystal, Tornado, Sunburst... I have almost every other UK pony I like! But these guys are just too expensive.

I want for little. :) I'd either pick up a brand new Nightglider, Gingerbread or So Soft Crumpet, seeing as they were all released in different years. But which one?!

Fun idea for a topic :) I did some thinking and I would return to the year of my birth, 1987! I'd go to a UK toy store and buy the UK Princess Pearl/Tiffany, Ponynaut pony wear, Milky Way, Zig Zag, and Spunky. I'd open them right up, not like I would be able to sell them or anything so I would very much enjoy getting to be the first person to hold them and play with them and smell their pony smell.

Paradise Estate defines my pony year to 1986. The ponies I would have with would be SS Scrumptious, SS Twist, Honeysuckle and Rosedust. Just think of all that perfect flocking and pink hair and those wings and all the little accessories...

I'd probably elect to go to a UK shop in 1988.  I'd pick up Sunburst, Ice Crystal, TAF Night Glider, TAF Buttons, and Swirly Whirly.  :D

Heading back to year 7, 1989. Picking up 2 Lavender Dream Castles, Megan's Place, Cool Breeze and Starry Wings. Oh, yeah.

I would go back to 1987 in the UK and get Princess Amethyst, Rosedust, Fireball, Snuzzles version of the Grooming parlour and Strawberry Fair. I would keep them all moc/mib.

I would also hunt down 6 year old me and leave a note instructing her which ponies to buy and to make sure I keep all the accessories, especially the ribbons and puffy stickers very safe!

Hmmm...I would head to a later year and pick up the Jewellery Babies MOC and Baby Licorice and Nurse Tenderheart :)

Thanks Fair Godmother! You rock!

That's a great game!  :frolic:

I would go back to the day my parents and me visited Scheveningen in the Netherlands. It must have been 1988 or 1989, I guess. I loved this toy store right above the beach ... My choices would be the Paradise Estate, one of the BBE Babies with the little wagon, the School of Dance, TE Gingerbread and a set of (Baby) Pony wear. They should have been in stores at the same time.  :wonder:

And since I'm already back there: Can I please stop myself from drinking the hot chocolate later that day which gave me the worst stomach ache I've ever had?  :X Thank you, MLP Fairy Godmother! I feel much better now!  :lovey:
