Welcome to the Official 2015 Central California Pony Meet thread!

Hey every pony! It's that time of the year again. Time for the countdown to the Central California pony meet. I ask that everyone please read the entire post, as there are important things that you will need to know. For those who may not know, our theme this year is based on the kindest and most timid of the mane 6, Fluttershy!

After reviewing the poll results and taking all factors into consideration, our meet will set on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015. I do apologize as I know some members will not be able to attend.

Our venue for this year is at the Holiday Inn Express in Merced, CA!

- A special custom made by me for our door prize!

- A delicious lunch prepared by my boyfriend.

- Fun games and activities for chances to win awesome prizes!

- A chance to sit down with local collectors and make friends.

*Update 3/6/15*

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been a bit MIA recently. I've been working hard on designing our door prize custom and ordering supplies. I wanted to report that we have a menu!

Snacks:

Veggie tray
Chips and dip
Fresh fruit

Lunch:
Beef, chicken and vegetarian tacos
(topping options will include cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, salsa, sour cream, fresh cilantro and avocado.)
Salad bar, including fresh veggies and dressings to add to it.
Beans
Rice

Drinks:
Soda
Bottled water
Iced tea

I hope everyone is excited about the lunch as I am. I'm hoping to have our schedule up very soon. Thanks for checking in!

Custom Contest

Here's a chance to try your hand at making something pretty!

Ribbons will be awarded up to 3rd place and winners will get a trophy and to pick a prize from my prize shelf.

Our catagories include:

And there's no theme, so you have complete creative control. Have fun with it!  :biggrin:

 Before we get to registration, here are a few things to keep in mind:

1) We are pet owners, so any items I bring may come into contact with our cats or dog. If you have allergies, please be aware.

2) We will be renting a venue this year to give us more space and to make sure everyone is comfortable. Please treat our venue with the same respect as you have my home the past three years. :)

3) If you aren't 18 or over, please have parental permission to attend or your parent/guardian with you. I do not wish to be held responsible or blamed if you drive here without permission. I do not condone lying or sneaking away to come to the meet.

4) We will be serving lunch and beverages. If you would like to bring something for yourself or to share, please feel free to.

5) Please feel free to bring any ponies/merch/other toys you wish to sell. It's always fun to find a new addition for your collection.

6) Remember to follow the golden rule! This is a meet for all pony collectors, regardless of what generation you love. I ask that everyone be respectful of others and their interests. No badmouthing or fighting and please keep things PG. You will be asked to leave if the rules are broken.


Now, on to registering! If you are planning to attend, you MUST fill out the form below and PM it to me. It will provide me with the vital information I need to make sure this meet is enjoyable for everyone.

Well, I originally thought I would only be able to make one day, but I'll see if I can swing the second date too! ;) I would really like to get a chance to go, your meetups look super fun!

Here's a quick question, in the off chance I can go - for the customs contest, do they have to be created FOR this contest, or can you bring in a previously made, recent work? I'm kind of a slow customizer, and I finished a couple ponies late last year that I'd love to come show off! :3

If you would like to bring one of your customs you made recently, that would work too. I usually ask that it not be an old piece. I really hope you can make it!

I have 3 seats available. We meet up in Fremont/San Jose then carpool to Atwater.
We split the gas costs. :)

Well, today has not been a good day in my planning. I was supposed to go finalize the reservation for our venue on Sunday and I received a call today saying they cannot accommodate us anymore. Apparently, someone who wants to rent the place for the whole day trumps a half day reservation. So, now I still have to go pick up my deposit on Sunday instead of signing paperwork.  :cry:  Very disappointed and upset... I promise I will find us a nice venue asap guys!

I'm so excited!!! I'm working on cleaning some ponies too, I need to look through my doubles and see who needs a new home!

Also, is this the part where we start linking our wantlists and such? ;) I know that some people collect specific ponies for their armies and stuff, so I guess I can start us off!

My want list is in my siggie, but one thing I really love to buy is baits! I especially am looking for 'unique' baits, usually G1 - I have an army of baity boy ponies (Big Brothers and little ones!), and I'm always looking for more! I'd also love to find some baity Pony Friends, or alternate rehair candidates! (Great bodies, terrible hair!) I also collect fakies, but usually only specific ones, like lipstick ponies, or sideburns fakies. I can provide pictures if anyone has a pile of fakies they don't want!

Also, if you have a pile of baity ponies you don't want anymore, I'm happy to take those off your hands!

ALSO - the stuff in my 'for sale' post in my sig is still available! Is anyone interested in G4 posters? :) I could bring them!

Thanks! There is probably only a slim chance as I'm sure I'll still be crazy busy at that time and Merced is about 2h away but I'll let you know if it's looking like I can go as soon as I can.

Crafting is in full swing! Unfortunately, I have to me some changes to our door prize because the color hair I ordered ended up selling out. Not a huge change. I'm hoping to post our schedule up this week. I'm just making a few tweeks to the games.

random question:  would anyone be interested in a show stable, a pink dream castle, a perfume palace, or the baby bonnet school of dance?  I also have 2 of the 12 pony case and like 4 of the 6 pony one, and a bunch of boxed G3s!  oh, and a box of like 40-50 G1 baits...  I don't want to bring a bunch of things no one is interested in. :)

I'd be interested in one of the 6 pony cases as an upgrade for the one I currently have. Part of the top is smooshed in on mine.  :(

*EDIT*  those of you driving into town may want to double check that your route keeps clear of the Mercy Hospital 5K event, I just saw it!

If you're coming to the meet via Highway 99, you'll be taking the Childs Ave exit. That way you'll avoid the marathon.  :biggrin: Been working hard on our door prize and she's almost done! Can't wait to get her pictures posted up.

Bring the baits!! :P I'm also interested in the G1 playsets; the only one I have is the Perfume Palace. :3 It would just depend on price for me, I don't know what they usually go for!

I'm gonna get up my list of stuff that I'm planning on bringing, but here's a funky question; I have a fair amount of G1 ponies that, IMO, are too nice to bait. I got some of them in bait lots, some in random lots from eBay, and I've fixed them up pretty nicely! But are people going to be interested in ponies who aren't 100% mint? Some of them have a stray ink mark or two, or a few age dots, or a shaved forelock; should I even bother bringing them? I'd love to find them new homes, instead of baiting! I know when I was a beginning collector, I rescued a fair amount of my collection from bait-bins, but IDK if people still do that!

EDIT: And since I finally got off my butt, here's some stuff I'm planning on potentially bringing - if there's anything you'd be interested in (or even interested in seeing IRL), let me know!! :3 I probably won't bring it all.

G1:
Various ponies, both from my sales post (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,332197.0.html) and from incoming lots! So far we have two Snuzzles (CF, both have minor issues), two Cotton Candys (possibly three?! FF and CF), two Lickety Splits, Medley, Parasol, Bowtie, Blossom, Applejack, Dancing Butterflies, Whizzer, Milky Way, Sundancex2, Sherbet, Primrose, and Sugarberry!

G2:
I have a bag of loose US-release G2 ponies, all adults; I wasn't sure if I should bother bringing these?

G3:
(All MIB) Scootaloo on the Go (a radio-controlled scooter with a pony to ride in it!), Go To School With Cheerilee (a dress-up set from Core7), Toola Roola with a hat, and possibly more loose G3s, I have to dig through my box! I also have a partially-MIB set; it was the ballerina G3 who came with Diva-pose Minty, I took out Minty and left the ballerina in the plastic. :blush: Maybe someone needs the accessories, or collects loose G3s?

G3.5:
(All MIB) Pinkie Pie Christmas Ornament, TAF Starsong, Winter Sweetie Belle, Easter Pinkie Pie? (Gotta check this one!), and the Newborn Cuties nursery with Baby Rainbow Dash!

G4:

Woohoo! It's always fun finding ponies you didn't realize you had. I know, I still keep finding things to add to the hoard I am bringing. As if four totes and three boxes wasn't enough. :P lol

Oooh, I have a friend who collects vintage Barbie! But mostly like, 60s-70s release Barbie, so it may be a bit earlier than your dolls are? But he's always looking for clothes! :) (And I DO need to fill out my half of a trade box for him...)

Cool! Yeah, I can't guarantee what he might like, but I follow his blog pretty closely and I know the style of dolls he likes! I'd also have to be shipping it to Australia, so I can't buy anything too bulky. :blush:

If you have a picture of any of it, I could send it to him before the meet and see if he likes anything in particular? :) But no pressure!

So.... I am hopped up on caffeine and just got off work. I have a lot to do still. Have to go shopping for our ingredients for our taco bar, which means I get to go grab some fresh, local produce. Yaay! Also have to make a few more goodie bags for the last minute RSVPs, pick up a few more decorations, finalize my packing and then hopefully get some sleep tonight.

And might I say, we did a taste test of a mini batch for the tacos and OMG I may make a pig of myself.  :lol:

Hey guys! Okay, I've been going through my stuff, and while I was unpacking, I realized someone was missing!! :O I'm really hoping I'll find her on my floor, or in the fridge or somewhere silly, but right now, I'm kind of upset that she vanished!

The pony I'm talking about, of course, is Rapunzel. Wait, wrong pony! (But if you find a stray Rapunzel, er, she totally belongs to me! ;)) I'm actually talking about a resin pony I bought from Whoa1234! I bought a veritable pile of them, but I actually remember this one in specific because she had a little jewelry wire loop coming out of the top of her head! I was thinking of a specific project for her, and now she's grown legs and gone walking!

I don't have a picture of her, but imagine the right half of a DG baby fakie, cast in translucent resin, with a little loop in the top of her head, with no paint on her at all. I'm afraid she may have fallen out of my purse when I took out my wallet, so if you could keep an eye open for her, I would really appreciate it!! Thanks guys!

I'll post a brag up pretty soon, but right now, I'm kind of preoccupied hunting for that little half-a-pony! :yikes:

First up: Dolls and plush! I snagged a Puppy Surprise with two puppies for $20 from Terra - and one of them is a RUNT!!! I’ve always wanted one!! Plus, I got the two mini-puppies for a buck from Whoa1234, so now the mommy has even more babies! The doll I was told is Jem (who I got from Jahlila's box of miscellaneous 80s toys!), but it turns out it's actually Danse, one of my fave characters! She's my very first Jem doll, and man, she is HUGE!!! I love her!! She’s wearing a sweet knockoff jumpsuit (possibly Totsy?) from the big lot of Barbie stuff I got for my friend Oak23, as well as the pants, grocery basket and FANNY PACK! I got the manticore/WoW guy for my friend thelotusmuse​! And I rescued Rainbow Dash from Lunar_scythe's dollar bin so I could give her a pretty new faceup!

August Birthflower, Tall Tales and Trickles all came from Terra's table, they're so gorgeous!! I'm one step closer to completing my Birthflower set, and I think Trickles completes my Year 2 Rainbows!! All three are stunning, thank you Terra! :hug: I got Squeezer from Lunar_Scythe, and Princess Misty from NinaMarie! (We traded for a hairbow, that was awesome!! :hug: )
