Title: Ideas for a nice but not too expensive Valentine's gift - UPDATE :D
Post by: The Little White Horse on January 23, 2015, 07:49:19 AM
Hi guys!  ^.^

So as you know, Valentine's day is coming up, and I would like to spoil my fiancé, problem is this year funds are a bit short and we don't want to go out to a restaurant because that's what everybody does.

I'm trying to come up with an idea which he'll love and will surprise him. I usually don't have any trouble with this, but I thought I'd ask you all for some advice and ideas.

What would you get your fiancé for Valentine's day, when you have a tight budget?

Any ideas?!

Well... heehee im proposing to my guy this year to renew our vows so I got him his ring!! it wasnt expensive, and its engraved!

Since he's already your fiance, you could find something cheap on ebay he might like!!  :-) Theres a lot of chinese sellers who sell great quality items bit it will take a few weeks for your stuff to get here.

Also, a simple box of his favorite chocolates, a card, love coupons, a diner-date, and a romantic bubblebath+ massage are all also fun and easy ideas!

Hope this helped, good luck!! :)

Bake.  That's what ill probably be doing.

Then again im lucky and have a BF that's just as geeky as me so the creativity will be super easy to let loose.

Maybe surprise him with tickets to something he'll like (even some like a movie). Or rent a movie he likes / wants to see and have a movie night at home.

Wow! Thanks for all the ideas, some had never even crossed my mind.

You all have so many great ideas and I can already see myself doing a combination of some of your ideas. :)

I'm going to have a good think and come back to tell you all what i decide to do. :)

Get a bunch of balloons with little cards/clues on and send him on a scavenger hunt.

I don't have any clue what I'm doing yet. But making something is probably your best bet.

Making some food is always good!  I'm sure you know what he likes for sweets and such :)

And also it is said that experiences make better presents than actual gifts, so maybe you could spend the day together doing something fun like ice skating, hiking, whatever you like to do.  Or you could do the good old coupon book for things like back rubs, uh, things like that

That sounds like so much fun , but at the moment we live in a city and I don't think it's something I can do without someone else ruining the hunt. :/

I think I've found some pretty good ideas thanks to everyone's advice here!  Here's what I have in mind :

I plan on crafting a beautiful Valentines Card. I'm also going to offer him a CD of one of his favourite bands and a heart pendant which is seperated into 2 so we can both keep half, bake and cook a nice meal and watch a film in the evening.  :) :)

Thoughts? :)

Thanks for your ideas guys!

Hi guys! Here's an update of the Valentine's gift I plan to offer to my Fiancé. :)

I have the flu so I won't be baking a cake or anything like that - but I'm sure he'll forgive me for that! :D

On the otherhand, being ill meant I was able to make him a card and a custom of a pony who represents him in my eyes.  ^.^ (It's also my first ever attempt at a custom ^^). I also got him his CD and have some other goodies on the way. They might be here tomorrow or at worse they'll be here on Monday.  I know it doesn't matter if they're a bit late to arrive - I know he'll be over the moon with what I've ordered him.

Anyway this is what I plan to offer him tomorrow:
