Title: Caramel Crunch and Molases...Re-Curled! (Pics!)
Post by: slyons on January 18, 2015, 07:11:29 PM
Hi Pony Peeps!

I recently purchased my first two Candy Cane ponies, and debated on whether or not to touch their hair. They both had the remnants of the original curl (I presumed) but were both a bit frizzy and out of control so after a few days I decided I was going to take the plunge.

I actually remembered to take before pictures this time  ;)

Molases:

Unfortunately Molases' mane ends turned out to be the frizziest I had ever encountered, and even conditioner/fabric softener/soaking overnight/boiling/heating iron couldn't tame them I so admitted defeat and just curled them in to the rest of her hair

Thank you for looking at my curl restore attempt! Watch out Sugar Sweet and Sugar Apple, I'm hunting you two down next!

They look lovely. Nice job!

I have a few of these girls myself that I need to work on one day. It's a little daunting, with how messy their long curly hair can get over the years!

Thanks for the kudos everyone! I had to show everyone on here since the hubby doesn't seem to appreciate it, lol.  I'm happy that I have so many people who are in support of the decision to re-curl, I was seriously having trouble deciding. I'm sure glad they turned out!

I find washing/brushing/styling pony hair extremely meditative, and so satisfying....I'm not the only one, right?  ^.^

Wanna come and recurl all my ponies too? So shiny...  :inlove:
I have never been to Finland, but I hear that karjalanpiirakka is really good! Have one ready for me!

They look awesome! I love recurling, or let's say, I love the results. The process of recurling is a lot of work, especially if the mane is frizzy :)

They look great! I sometimes tuck the very ends under and inside the curl like that if they are really impossible to work with. Although sometimes I do them like that and then go back 6 months later and try again  :)
