I just sold a pony on eBay and when I looked at the address I was amazed by the address. I'll just give a partial:
Pixar Animation Studios
Pretty cool!
-
Yep: Italy. That was a "fun" introduction to international shipping law.
I do always check the name in case it's someone I know, but so far no luck. One time I got a buyer who lived in the same city as I did and just came over to pick them up, though, and while he was here he sold me a glittery Gilda and a bangs-having Rainbow Dash for a buck each, so that was cool.

That's epic!
I am always telling my UK buyers/traders how much I adore the sound of their addresses. (They laugh and hopefully don't think I'm too much of a freak.) They just have so much 'scope for the imagination'. ;) Things like 'Seven Sisters', 'Manor Park', and cities/towns that come up in novels/movies/tv.
I always love shipping stuff far away, I long to travel and I send a piece of my heart with each box.

That is so cool! I'd be spazzing just because I'm a huge Pixar fan.
I've not done much in the way of shipping overseas or to anywhere famous so the closest I've come to this feeling is when I received a swap box from the same person I'd sent a box two a short while before.

I had to look at the address multiple times just to make sure I read it right. Maybe they're going to make another toy story with my pony in it. Well one could hope....
-
That is so cool! I'll bet that's the most interesting address anyone's ever sent a pony to! XD I wonder what they want it for... :wonder:

I can't think of any addresses that stand out, but whenever I sell on ebay the buyer always seems to be in California
-
tbf California has a whole lot of people

Lol - that was one of my thoughts - isn't there a Toy Story 4 in the pipeline? Maybe they needed one for 'research' purposes!
-
Did you slip a fan letter into the shipping box? I totally would have dorked out and done so. :P
-
soo cool!! which pony did you sold? ^.^ would be a real dream to see it later in a movie ^.^ ^.^
-
WHAT PONY!?
This could be the beginning of something AWESOME.

Exciting!!

that is the coolest thing ever!

How Cool is that. I have often wondered when the address has something that sounds familiar in it. :art:
-
OK if I post what pony it is there better not be any fans going on eBay and finding the auction and bothering my buyer. I really don't want that. But it is a baby G1 pony.
It's .....
-
Yes! On ebay I sold some royal riff blindbags from wave 6. The seller who won the auction lived across the highway from me! xD Soooooo crazy!
I would have also slipped in a nerdy fan letter with the pony! I am a big Disney fan!!! :D Yoh are so lucky, I hope your pony ends up to a good home and becomes a movie star!

I sent a Rainbow Dash to Hawaii and I geeked out because Rainbow Dash was going to live in the Rainbow State XD

Lol! That's funny!
-
Not a pony but I once sent an item of clothing to a Peaches Geldoff in London... not entirely convinced it was actually her but you never know.
-
In my previous job we sold something to Richard Hammond (Top Gear), well it was his wife but same thing really. ;) And Ant and Dec once wore things purchased from us in one of their TV shows!

Gah! If an MLP makes it into any version of Toy Story, even if it's just one of the shorts, I will just be over the moon! Even more so, if it is a G1. Imagine the boost to the MLP brand. And the possibility for new toys!
But on the more realistic end, it could just be one of the employees looking for a childhood pony. Everything I've seen about Pixar says that they encourage employees to personalize their areas.

That is so cool having things they purchased from you worn on TV! I can only hope now that there is another toy story and My Little Pony will be a part of it ;)

My favorite package address was sent over to Lego in Germany! :o)
-
Not to famous people but I work in marketing and currently in product packaging design so we send to lots of famous brands of course but nothing as cool as Pixar!
What a great address to ship to - imagine how much Baby M may see.
-
YES  C/O Weta studios in Wellington

I just mailed something to:
703 1/2 Homebound Road South West
I wanted to know what a half a house looked like, so I google mapped it. Looks like a shed/outbuilding that was made into an apartment in a desert neighbourhood. (It was an ebay sale).

I used to live in an address with a 1/2 in it in college. It was basically a house that the owners decided to rent out to 2 parties. They rented the upstairs to a family and I lived in the basement, which had a separate entrance and driveway through the alley.
-
These are such cool stories! :)
-
It could just be someone who works there and has their parcels delivered to work. When I worked at Games Workshop I used to get a lot of excited comments lol
A friend of mine sold something to the BBC to be used for a prop in a show and I believe they even told her which episode to look out for it in. I think my only "claim to fame" is my old job sold some power tools to that Norwegian mass murderer just before he bombed Oslo :(
-
I have sent ponies to many places I never knew they existed or where in the world they were like New Caledonia :)
I sent a Priority Express package yesterday to Hong Kong :)
I had to Google the address ,because there was no numeric Zip code , their Zip code is just HKG
:)
-

I wish it was like that! That would be so awesome. :D
-
That is so awesome!!! It would be a dream come true if there is a My Little Pony in an upcoming Toy Story movie!!! :D Wow!! Baby Moondancer is so lucky!
-
That's pretty amazing! I've never had anything super significant but some addresses look like they're from another planet. Oh - I did ship some items to people who have been featured on the show - Oddities, but they were definitely not ponies, hehe..
-
very very cool
-
I once sold a G3 Valenshy to the musician Chris Singleton. She proceeded to turn up in one of his music videos, which I found mildly exciting.

The only weird thing for me is that I sold a few Fashion Star Fillies to someone whom appears to live at an air force base. The address was strange.

Lol....I used to live on an AFB with my hubby for a little bit. I didn't think the address was weird. Was it a base exchange outside of the 50 states?
-
I think it was within the states.
-
Wouldn't a military addy be a APO/FPO address?
I never had any exciting addresses but I did get alot of people trying to tell me they couldnt ship to me because they only ship domestically. Uh, Alaska is a state, idiots. And Amazon liked to tell me the zip code for the grand canyon national park is invalid.
-
I'm pretty sure an APO/FPO only exists outside the 50 states. They exist at like Guam and other US territories and other places where US troops are sent. You can have a military address that isn't an APO/FPO. Ours was normal. Just said Minot AFB in the address.

Same for us when we lived on Andrews, ages ago.
-
I sold one of my ponies to someone in Brazil. It was a really common one and they ended up paying more for the shipping than the pony

Yep!
My workplace works with federal contractors and the vast majority of the bases all have a standard US address, even the ones on Guam and other US controlled territories.
I think APO/FPO is really only used for bases in other countries. For instance, we have a large client that operates on the Reagan testing site out on the Kwajalein Atoll and while the base itself is US owned, Kwajalein is part of the Marshall Islands so all mail sent to the base uses an APO address.
