Title: My first complete play set, the Grooming Parlour!

I'm so happy to have this again

Well, not quite complete because although I have 3 name tags (Bluebelle, Snuzzle, Butterscotch) I would like lots more!  Does anyone know how the name tags were sold, was it three per set at random?  I have collected the accessories over time. I am not sure about the brush I think it is too dark pink to be the right one!  What do you think?  The blanket is reproduction, I made it myself, but the ribbon is original.

I think it's lovely!  Brings back some childhood memories for me.  :)

I have no idea about how the name tags were sold, but I have some spares if you're interested?

Oh I love this playset and yours looks to be in great shape. In the US the Pretty Parlor always came with eight name tags for the original six + Peachy + Lemon Drop. In the UK I believe the name tags changed with time, and sometimes came with names on the front and back? I used to own reproduction Grooming Parlour name cards that included Cherries Jubilee, Tootsie, Lickety-Split, Posey, Starshine, Skydancer, Windy, Moonstone, Sunlight, Parasol, Peachy, and I think Majesty. There is also another UK set that includes Bubbles, Seashell, Applejack, and Bow-Tie. Hopefully someone will come along with more info (or you can post about it in the Corral).

Again, congrats!

Oh yes please! I will pm you tomorrow :)

Thanks everypony! The three I have so far have names on just one side. I will post about them in the corral and maybe think about making some reproductions using the restoration project. Exciting!!

I was really excited when I got the grooming parlour (as an adult collector!) too.  It is such a neat, iconic set.  Congrats :cheer:

Congrats on your first completed play set! I've recently acquired a parlour playset too but it needs massive restoration; thinking of painting it pink!  ^.^

That's just it, I love the fact that it all closes up neatly with both ponies inside and Twinkles in her basket!  I guess they were so popular for a reason :D

Thanks! I have a spare too with cracks and no stickers etc. I was thinking about whether to turn it into a repro of one of the variations or sell it on... decisions decisions! If you did paint it do you know what primer you would use? I wish it were easier to reverse the door, then I could have two next to each other like a kind of double Grooming Parlour!

I used an average paint spray can on it yesterday! It's a cute, pastel pink colour now  :P Planning on using a sealer (probably the brand Jo Sonja) before painting in the details like hearts & windows. I'm trying to replicate the original stickers too but could only find a scan of the german version...

Nice work! Thanks for these. I'd love to see pictures when it's finished.

Here are the stickers from the My Little Pony Preservation Project, funnily enough it's the Spanish version  :P

My pleasure :)  I can't make customs or other things, and usually don't have spare stuff, so I was glad to actually be able to help someone out pony-wise for a change!! Hugs!!

I don't have Minty, she is the only Year 1 pony I don't have yet. I have a label for 1 Rainbow Pony, Parasol, but none of the other Rainbows. I'm not sure whether there were any others! So intriguing!

Twinkles just loves that basket! She sits in it all the time, I'm thinking of making a little mat or cushion to go inside it  ^.^
