I have a trade thread here and at the other Arena. At first I got a few bites when I put it up a while back but lately it's been stagnant and I have even added some G1s that just sit there. Since I'm aware that maybe someone would want something in my thread but might not have anything on my want list so mentioned that I also take PayPal. I'd really rather not bother with ebay because of the fees and frustrations.

Hmm, maybe you can post it in the Sales board instead? Like you said, maybe people don't want to trade and would want to buy? If you'd rather keep it in the Trade board, you might bump it up again. I think most potential buyers and traders don't look past the first one or two pages, so if you bump it again to get it on those pages it might help. Good luck!

It's not you, honestly I'm a trade-a-holic and the last year and a half has been pretty slow. Sales even slower; and I have a ton of stuff...

yeah i give items in the arena about a week before i list them on ebay.
in fact the new huge lots of ponies i'll be selling are going directly to ebay with a post here mentioning that they are up.
i don't like the fees and other possible problems, but the arena just takes longer and you have to wait for people to reply, then send payment etc.
i buy and trade alot on the arena, but haven't had much luck selling in the few years i've been here.

Honestly I still prefer trading. Especially since I have a bunch of wants that were never available in the US and for international stuff trades usually are the fairer way to go.

:hug: no its not you , don't worry. I love trading as well, but more people buy stuff outright so if you do want to have a try at a sales thread as well it might help (you can mention in there that you can also trade ).
I think things have been a bit quiet this year though for many people. I know a lot of people (myself included) are dealing with real life/health issue stuff at the moment so we aren't as active buying/trading :awake:
Things can get a little bit quiet during the holidays too as people don't always want to risk buying during xmas as postage can be really slow/delayed, or they have spent out on stuff for their family etc and need to save again, or lots of people are away visiting friends/family too so they might not be here as often.

I always peruse the trade thread, but I have nothing to trade! I don't really have "extra" ponies, and I never really know what to offer non-pony-wise as a trade. I usually assume I'll just irritate someone by asking them if I may trade for dollars, since they were posted in the trade thread and not the sales.
Maybe I'm not the only one who thinks this way?
Also, I usually only go through the first page of sales, unless I've been away for any length of time. The few times I've gone past that, I'm usually informed that the items I want have been sold. Then I spend a stupid amount of time kicking myself for not seeing them earlier and for torturing myself over them unnecessarily.

Yes, perfectly fine. The same rule applies to each of the 3 sections (Sale, Trade, Wanted) of 1 active thread on the first page, but you can have a thread going in each section.

I'm kind of the opposite. I have things listed for sale, but I'm always open for trades (haven't had a trade thread in a loooong time).
I think a lot of people that have items listed for trades would be ok with sales. However, some do not have paypal and may or may not list it on their trade thread. Honestly, there's really no harm in asking if they'll sell instead. :o)

Many of us have links within our signatures. You'll find that they are underlined. :o)
Also, not everyone will bump their sales either when they add new things. (I for one do not because I have the link in my siggy and I post around the different forums often and I figure that's advertisement).

Yeah as others have said my link lives in my sig. Sometimes I wonder if maybe my sig is kinda lacking as far as grabbing potential customers attention.
I'm still surprised that my Jem stuff isn't getting any interest since I know a lot of pony fans are also Jem fans. I even liked the Jem reruns but I'm just not a fan of the original dolls themselves. (I like the Integrity dolls but can't afford them)

Have you tried over on the MH Arena and dollhouse? You could always make threads over there for those types of items. I find that a lot of non-pony stuff moves super slow...

I can say I feel the same way. I don't have any extras at all and I can't think of anything I'd have that someone would want
To TC: Perhaps give it some time to pick up, a lot of us are still reeling financially from the holiday shopping spree between Halloween through Christmas. ;)
