Hmmmm so it's close to Christmas... I don't want to be anywhere near a shopping mall, but what about thrift stores? Have people noticed that it's slower/busier/just the same with the thrift stores in your area?
I wanna pony hunt!!! But I despise going out and coming home with nothing...
-
I've noticed everything (not just ponies) slow down in thrift shops around christmas, I think its because we live in a poor rural area and there are not alot of options for people to shop at so thrift shops get hit pretty hard around the holiday times here. It might be different in different areas but I know that around the holidays our thrift shops have almost nothing.

All stores are crazy this time of year around here, even the thrifts!
-
I used to volunteer in a charity shop around this time last year, and we got a massive pile of fakies in, but no proper MLPs. Ponies in this town seem to be hard to come by in general, though.
Edit: Sorry, my brain broke, to actually answer your question: the shop itself was manic as heck, tons of people were in from the doors opening in the morning til they closed in the evening! :P

LOL this! It doesnt matter what a store is selling, certainly here in the big cities and towns its always busy in the last frantic few days before Christmas.
-
All the thrifts in my area have been crazy busy too. Anytime I've ventured in everything has been pretty picked over - no pony luck at all.
-
The thrift store in my area has been busy, but no busier than any other time. It's always a popular spot! However, there have also been G1s showing up each week :) Mostly common ones.
-
I don't do that much of thrifting in the cold season (as I'm moving around by bus), but it's interesting to hear what other people have to say. ^.^
-
Well, my local thrift store was totally DEAD:

I won! Hurray!
-
I'm glad you decided that to go out and found something! That's great :)
-
The way I think about it is that people are getting rid of stuff to make room for new stuff.
-
My local thrift store hasn't been too busy this holiday season. I did find a near mint Tex a week ago at the thrift store though.
-
Wow, what a find!
(Off-topic, but who's the blue Pony in your icon? She's such a gorgeous color.)
-
Great find!
My local Savers has been packed! I did find my first G1 in ages, applejack.. but she has pin dot and is missing an ear! I couldn't leave her behind though.. anyone have any tips on restoring her?
-
My local thrift stores have put out loads of toys for Christmas. No pony luck besides a lone G3, but I did pick up a large Donkey Kong plush and a dragon candle holder at least :P
-
My thrift stores have had plenty of toys but mostly newer ones. But after xmas the thrift stores seem to put out even more toys so it is a great time to go thrifting!
-
Woah, I might go thrift shopping again to see if I have some luck!
-
Found a Build-a-Bear Trixie today. Store didn't seem anymore crowded than usual.
-
My mother and I did some holiday thrifting yesterday and decided to make it a tradition. :)
We also found that while there was a crowd, it wasn't really a packed crowd. I guess the amount of business is affected just by your local area.
No ponies for me, btw, but I did find some nice toys and a very nice Christmas haul. Congrats on your finds, Squirmy. That Sea Pony looks practically mint!
