*All this pending admin approval of course*
MikeysGrrrl and I want to co-host a custom swap. We've looked over ideas that have been mentioned before here in interest threads on the Arena and came up with some that we would be interested in hosting.
*Monochromatic - custom must be made using only shades of only one color. Potential to come up with something very cool and visually striking! Your partner would specify what color they want you to use (or possibly let you choose between 2 colors).
*Celestial - using the heavens for inspiration, anything goes! Go scientific, or go more geared towards science fiction or astrology!
*Carousel - creepy or cute, fanciful or inspired by real carousels...again, pretty much anything goes!
*Other - have a theme idea you want to share? We're open to ideas if you really aren't keen on the other three!
Disclaimer: If you "own" a certain swap theme that we're considering, ie you've held one with a particular theme before and want to host another one, please just let us know and we won't pursue that theme. I know there was a Carousel one fairly recently...the other two I'm not sure.
Tentative Schedule:
Gauging interest - now until Christmas-ish.
Submit for approval
Sign ups Jan 1st - Jan 15th or until slots are filled (will probably cap at 12 or 20 depending on how much interest there is).
Partners shortly after Jan 15th
Ship by April 5th or so

All of those themes sound great! The potential for some awesome customs is definitely there for each category. Sounds interesting.

I voted Monochromatic because my last 2 swap ponies have involved a lot of sculpting and have just misbehaved from start to finish. I would love a simpler swap and I always ADORE other people's monochrome ponies they've made.

Thanks for providing that link kaoskat :) There are so many beautiful ponies that were created for that swap.

monochrome sounds so cool ^.^ How do you pick what to paint though?
Do you give a list of colour and then a list of thing?
Or is it just random?

Waeponies, if Kaoskat doesn't mind we'll borrow that aspect of the previous Monochromatic swap, in which case the participants gave their partners some ideas of what they'd like to see in addition to specifying 3 colors to pick from.
I see "Carousel" is getting some love too :)

Those are all good ideas but I had to vote for celestial just because celestial ponies are near and dear to my heart.

of the three i think monochromatic sounds the most interesting.
would the theme be pretty much anything goes aside from the color?
or would people put in suggestions for that too?
another idea would be two tone, or complimentary colors. probably wouldn't work as it's kinda broad, just thinking of ponies i'd like to make.

I think we would still ask participants to specify what they'd like to get (like 4 or 5 ideas, as in kaoskat's previous swap). Or a list of general likes/dislikes. I guess it depends on the participant, I can totally see someone being like, "here's the color I want, go for it!" Sometimes the best stuff comes out of having free rein, as long as it doesn't clash with your partner's dislikes.

Okay, so I've never (yet) participated in a swap but the monochromatic idea makes me really want to participate in this one. Don't know if I have enough feedback, though.

We're leaning towards 500 posts and probably 3-5 selling or trading feedback. Sign ups will not happen until the beginning of January, so you have time!
You'll also have to provide photos of your 3 most recent customs.
