Today, I had a little package in my mailbox. I opened it up, expecting it to be another square for the community quilt project and BOY was I wrong.

I'm posting this in art since that's where I suspect you saw my signature and since it's hand-made and super adorable. :)
It looks JUST like Abbey! I was so surprised and touched and it really made my day. Abbey was my first dog and there were times it felt like she was my only friend in the world. She was like my sister. I'm glad that she's not in the state that she had been in the last few months, but I miss her desperately. She was an excellent dog.
So darn those real names, or I would PM you. But thank you SO MUCH, Jo Jo. You absolutely made my day. I can't wait to set up my tree so I can hang her right in the front. She's amazing. I'm smiling and crying and smiling again all at the same time.
And just because she was the cutest dog, have some Abbey spam!
Me (left) and my sister a couple weeks after we got her.

So thank you, Jo Jo, for reminding me of my best friend and making me smile. :lovey:

That is such a cute present. I'm afraid I don't know who Jo Jo is, either, but she's obviously a wonderful and caring person. :)

So sorry to hear that you lost your dog :( I lost mine about year ago and I still miss him. But now we now he can run wild and free ;)
But what a great gesture! And so fluffy dog you got <3 I wonder who might be this Jojo ;) She/he was very sweet to sent you this letter!

Oh Zen, what a wonderful RAOK gift! It looks just like Abbey, so cute. That was such a sweet thing to do. :lovey:

I'm still smiling about her. She's on my night stand until the tree goes up and her cute little face was sitting there when I woke up this morning. :lovey:

This warms my heart--the kindness of the community here, to comfort someone that you don't ''know'' in her time of loss, it's incredible. :grouphug:

I couldn't agree more. The Arena is a very special place because of all the wonderful people here. :) For someone I've never really met to notice my signature and then actually go to the effort of making something to cheer me up and to track down my address is just remarkable. I hope that they are reading this, because it is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. :)
Cutie!!!
Abbey is such a beautiful dog!
love seeing pictures of her.
Thank you, I think so too. She hated haircuts, so she was often furry and scruffly, lol. But in the last few years of her life, I took over her grooming so she didn't have to deal with the stress of being left at the groomer. That helped a little, but towards the end we just let her be. No point in stressing her out for a haircut when we knew she wouldn't be with us much longer. So in those last pics, she was SUPER fluffy lol. That's how I remember her. Our little sheep.
I may or may not have my Abbey in my purse today. :lookround: It's kind of comforting to have her in there. *is totally a grown up*

That is so super sweet! ^.^

That's amazing. I'm so sorry for your loss. My fur-baby was also named Abbey, she was a Dalmatian. I had to put her down in 2008. They hold such a special place in our hearts don't they. (((Hugs)))
Edit - I see our Abbey's were the same age too. Mine was 1993-2008.

Oh my gosh - what an adorable gift *hugs* Zenna

That is an adorable gesture and beautifully made. What a precious thing to treasure!
Thoughts are with you, Zenna. The photos you posted were just lovely too. What a dear wee dog

That is so kind ... But I am sorry to hear about your loss. It never is easy to have to let go of a beloved pet ...
Big hugs

I'm picking up my Christmas decorations this week at my husband's grandparents' house and I'm going to set up the tree the day after Thanksgiving. Can't wait to hang my little Abbey! I made some pawprint ornaments on the day we had to have her PTS that I will be giving everyone in the family and I think I will hang my own near this ornament. Seems fitting that they go together.
:lovey:
SpookyTrees, I'm sorry to hear you lost your Abbey as well. It's a good name for good dogs.

We will be putting up our tree this weekend. I was going to do it right after Thanksgiving, but didn't have time to get my decorations from my husband's grandparents' house. I will post a pic of my little Abbey ornament when she's up. She's hanging out with all my dollies right now. :lovey:
