Wow, time flies! I haven't been thinking about it but I probably will be now. :P

I am, as always, hoping for more pony-shaped ponies that are new characters. And yes, some new molds for once. Really don't care to see more dolls, or pop things, or blind bags (I do like them but I have enough - I'd rather see Hasbro use the character designs on brushables) or merchandise for crying out loud. But that's just me.

I suspect what we actually will see will be a lot of the things I mentioned not caring to see above. Feeling pretty pessimistic I guess. But you never do know with Hasbro...

I can't wait for fair season to roll around! I'm triple excited since taking up a ton of Zelfs and a few Monster High dolls this year, I'm itching to see what all the lines will give up. :biggrin: I fear that ponies will be nothing new, just the Rainbow/CMM products we've already seen, although it will be nice to see demonstrations of newer things like the light up Rarity... POP ponies will probably get a big ol' push and the newer EQG dolls like Sapphire Shores and Cheerilee will get their showcase.

I hope that more POP playsets come about like Fluttershy's cottage, because they are usable with the regular ponies too. In brushable terms I'm dreaming of new boys, new original non-show characters, and new poses like a nice Posey trot or a Firefly rear... but I can dream until the end of time and not get those. Maybe a super long hair pony would make a more realistic goal? I also hope that the TRU exclusives will revert back to Collector Series and Pony Mania will be that one embarassing year that we all forget about. :rofl:

I think hasbro needs to relaunch the brushable line the fs and the eqg dolls are doing great but honestly they need to relook at the thing that was the roots of my little pony and stop putting them on the back burner. Ugh I just want to get excited when I go pony shopping the same as when I go doll shopping

I imagine that this year it'll all be shelves of EG dolls and mini figures and about one or two original brushable characters... Maybe less than last year. Let's just hope for some original characters and plenty of brushables, as well as fewer emphasis put on the EG dolls this coming year. Who knows though?

There are a whole bunch of non-Mane 6 brushables that have been spotted on Amazon. So at the very least those will be there.

Right?!?! Good grief, I just cringe every time I go to the TRU pony aisle and see them stacked there, not selling.

PUHLEEEEASE, Hasbro. More brushables/FS ponies... I'm begging you.

We did end up getting more brushables than they showed at the fair last year. FS Daisy Dreams (which I still have yet to see here -_-), Nurse Redheart, the new Princesses, etc... So the fair doesn't necessarily represent the brushables we get.

I enjoy the concept, it vaguely reminds me of Kiss, but they just.... It's... I just don't get why.

Aren't kids tired of the mane six just somewhat adjusted over and over?
Can we get them with nice new outfits, at least? Not painted outfits, accessories. Clips, shoes for the non-FS ponies, skirts, those fake hairdye pens like Barbie has where it washes out, collectable charms like previous gens, more baby ponies, background characters, something. Make them different colours like G1 Nirvanas and the experimental factory ponies! The blind bags are all sorts of colours, kids and adult collectors WOULD BUY BRUSHABLE PONIES IN OTHER COLOURS! Transparent glittery ponies? MORE PLEASE! Glow in the dark manes or full bodies?! YEEESSSS.

We LIKE to brushie brushie their hair, we like when they're not covered in paint, we like new characters, we like to dress ponies up. We like the foundation MLP was built on, plastic ponies with hair!!
Even through the eyes of a kid, those current ponies don't have the same appeal as they did last year.
I'm not saying blind bags and Funko ponies WITHOUT hair are bad. They're amazing, actually! I mean, SDCC Dj had Swarovski elements! Have you SEEN how pretty Funko Luna is!?

Offering us something a little more fancy? Price it accordingly.
If it's better quality and something that looks worth buying, people will buy.

I remember running to Walmart nearly every day to see if they had restocked the pony shelves. My SO would sometimes being me home a pony I was looking for with good paint and I'd lose my mind just like when I was a little girl.
I don't look at toy sections anymore. That magic isn't there anymore.

I don't know what to expect for the Toy Fair, but I'm wondering if going is worth it. Even if its not for Hasbro, maybe it'll reignite that passion for cute, colourful, happy things.

I just made this reference yesterday... anywho...

I'd like to see more Pop playsets, since those are the only ones I find worth buying.  Meaning I just have the one right now.

I'd love to see more brushable but AHAHAHAHAHA we know that won't happen.

A yeah I can't wait for it even when I guess we will see a lot of Merchandise that have been revealed already. But I'm sure we will see a lot of new merch as well. Of course I'm planning to make a coverage article.

New characters are great but I'd like to see something besides pink and light purple xD (seriously, even Luna isn't really a purple purple, she's about the same color as she was in S1). Even in previous gens, red and green aren't very common body colors on ponies.
And maybe more orange-y ponies besides Applejack. I really like orange, heh.

I hope there are more glowy ponies like the Rarity that's been discovered. That's what I like to see Hasbro!  :biggrin:

I suspect a lot of what we see will be stuff which has already been revealed...stuff which was not supposed to be seen yet no doubt. :)

However I maintain the hope that we see dominance of ponies with brushable hair - you know...regular old fashioned My Little Ponies. A girl can dream right?

Hopefully FUNKO has something good to unveil for next year.

Would also love if Lego actually had gone forward with that MLP Duplo license.

I hope from Hasbro new brushables based on characters on the show. Maybe a couple of new molds. And new blind bag character molds.

And, would love to see other figure companies unveiling figures.

They released her a month ago, she comes with EQG doll ,so far only found at Amazon.

I know I'm dreaming here, but I want to see more non-mane six brushables and fashion styles, especially in green and black (someone who's not a villain, like thunder lane). new molds would be great.  I'm over the gimicks, I just want some new characters already!

I don't care one way of the other about plushies, pop, or the dolls.  I hope they have good stuff for those who collect them, but i also hope they don't take shelf space away from the regular ponies.

I have a strong suspicion its going to be a stand filled with most of the Cutie Mark Magic line we have already seen :( ...oh yes and whatever the new EQG line is (which will be a big focus). As G4 advances...I become more cynical :P

No I dont believe so - it was just the Ponymania line we saw. Everything else was main stream release...unless you count things like the EQG stage.

I predict a TON of new mane 6 EQG rereleases, with one or two TRU exclusive mane 6 pony rereleases thrown in for decoration. This time the mane 5 and Celestia will come with beautiful glittery (irremovable) makeup smeared over their faces and cutie marks, and manes made entirely of tinsel! Brush their magical hair and dress them up as glitter gets all over everything you love!

Every time I see this thread title I get super excited for all the prospects :cheer: MLP, MH, and Zelfs alike!

Given the state of the pony aisles over the last few months, it'll be very interesting to see if Holly Dash and other Rainbow Power releases get a spot at the Fair bench. Right now it's inconclusive if the Spa/Train/FS Twilight sets are North American exclusives, if Holly Dash is non-American exclusive, how many sets are getting rebranded into Cutie Mark Magic (styling strands, princess packs, etc). I want to see what they're promoting, what packaging/line type, and what's vanished into the background, that could give us an idea of what to expect on shelf.

It definitely looks pretty, as demonstrated by the Rainbow Power singles with entire sections of solely tinsel, but it's not the easiest to style and ends up sticking everywhere.

But who knows? The latest tinsel has been deiffrent than previous releases, so maybe hasbro's got some better quality stuff on the way.

Someone went to the London Toy Fair and reported the things he saw.

The London Toy Fair 2015 has just been opened and someone named idlemichael seemed to have visited it. Below we have written down what My Little Pony products he saw today.

First up it seems like there will be a new playset featuring Celestia. According to Michael it was three levels high and covered with heart shaped QR-Codes for the new app they are making.

As expected the Cutie Mark Magic line will also be shown during this Toy Fair. We will see the already announced and available Water Cuties Brushables (the brushable snowglobes) but it also seems like Princess Cadance will get a new brushable with light. A new talking version? She was shown with some dodgy hair however. Hope they will fix that with her release.

The Hasbro Pop Line will also get some new Ponies as well. The 7 Inch Design-a-Pony Celestia was shown and a new pony (possible Luna) with black on her back that you need to scratch away to reveal purple. I really need to see some pics of this. Also some metallic POP Ponies were shown. That's quite awesome if you ask me.

The most interesting thing will be the fact that Equestria Girls 3 was announced during the toy fair. The movie will be about the Friendship Games were the Wondercolts will face-off against the Shadowcolts with a series of sport events. The dolls however didn't look that sporty but they had some "curious" sunglasses and a motocross bike was also shown. And very good news for those who wanted boy dolls. There will be a Flash Sentry doll!

At last the Pop Up Pinkie Pie Game we talked about earlier was shown.

Sadly we have no pictures yet. We hope we can get some soon and when we do we are sure to post them as soon as possible! I would like to give a huge thank you towards idlemichael for providing us all with this information! Again thank you very much!

There better be a Flash Sentry pony! First I heard of the plot in EQ3 sounds interesting guessing we will see lots more Wonderbolt/Shadowbolt merch hopefully Spitfire, Soarin, Mistyfly brushies Shadowbolt male/female brushies and a Soarin Funko (PLEASE!)

Knowing hasbro tho, it will be mane 6 in wonderbolt gear or something.......

These are the Hasbro POP's. The one from Hasbro. And we are still waiting for pictures as well. However the London Toy Fair is much more strict when it comes to taking pictures. No public is allowed.

If I'm remembering correctly, I don't think we've got much in the way of pony pics from the UK fair in the past but it'd be cool if some did pop up and it's nice to hear a report. I think idlemichael gave a report last year too.
The 2015 offerings don't seem too exciting to me so far. I was expecting the already seen Cutie Mark Magic merch. but I am disappointed the focus yet again seems to be so much on POP and EqG.

I'm holding out for next month hoping for at least 1 or 2 new brushies to show in NY. Maybe there'll be new mini figure packs & maybe TRU will have better exclusives this year. I was just thinking though, out of new character brushables seen there last year (Photo Finish, Octavia & Holly Dash) only Photo Finish has been found actually in physical stores in the US during the whole past year! Sad...

Spielwarenmesse (Nuremberg Toy Fair) is in a week as well but like the UK fair I don't think usually leaks much in the way of pics.

I'm not very interested in the pop ponies, but I really hope there will be a new pop playset.

I'm excited fo Flash Centery doll if it means we will get him as a pony.  However, we have gotten some other EQG dolls but no corresponding ponies.

My guess (given what seems to be a winding down?) will be that there will be few if any ponies- maybe a couple of Equestrial Girls, and a bunch of POP ponies and maybe some gimmic ponies like a talking walking pony or some such. Just a guess. I'd love to be proven wrong of course.  I also think there is a reasonable chance that TRU will do it's "fan favorites" again, and have pretty high hopes for that.  Hopefully those strange not-quite-goth sock/makeup ponies didn't discourage TRU from signing up for another exclusive (better thought out) set...

I have a sad feeling there won't be anything I am excited about. I have a feeling there will be many more EG dolls which don't interest me at all. And probably some re-releases of the same old characters. Maybe more plushes. What I'd love is a whole new wave of characters as brushables, maybe some new Fashion Style characters. One can dream. This generation is quickly going down the dump for me, especially with all these EG dolls. I want more ponies, dangit!

They should--they're from Season 1 Episode 2. (Albeit renamed from "Shadowcolts" in keeping with "Wonderbolts" the stunt team becoming "Wondercolts" the sports team.)

I saw the picture of the big Mac POP...... soooo Hasbro has the time to make an entirely new mold for him as a buildable figure but cant re-use Shining Armor's brushable bodymold and make it red!? Well, at least boy ponies are getting *some* attention this year! I would still love a playset with Big Mac someday.

Ooooh, I was inspecting some of the pictures from London, and found some interesting things! In the picture with Twilight's Rainbow castle, behind the FS blue haired pony, I think it's Rarity's Carousel Boutique! It's the right shape, has Rarity out front, and I can see one of her pony mannequins!!!

Ooh, I do like that castle.. not sure if I'd get it (I don't really have much space for playsets ^^;) but it is very nice.

I love Cadance's pose, just not a fan of the bigger G4s. (Her hair looks so pretty on that photo, though! So curly! *_*)

I was hoping the QR codes would be under their hooves as well :( I guess they wouldn't be too hard to remove with acetone though, so there's that?

I believe there are photos of the MLP playschool sets/ponies already-  they are probably on MLPmerch.com?

Yes,  I've seen the pics on the other thread.  But the first pic is fuzzy and could possibly be an artist rendering.  I feel confident in the second set of pics, but I wonder if the first set is really going to happen or if that set of characters was changed out for the second set of characters.

Oh no there are definitely big very clear pictures of them somewhere- I'll look around....  Oh I found them, they are on Equestriadaily - if you click on their "merch" section- they should pop right up. There is a LOT!  I'd post a link but I think the Arena doesn't allow linkage to that site  ^.^

Thanks for posting were to find pics and the link.  However, Those are not what I was talking about.  On the thread titled g1-G4 baby toys, the very first post has a fuzzy pic with Firefly, Sundance, G1 Minty, and possibly Cotton Candy. Those are the ponies I was hoping to see better pics of because the only pic I've seen of those specific characters is fuzzy and possibly just an artist rendering.  I'm curious as to whether that pic was only done for early advertising and were later replaced with the set of characters that there *is* good pics of.  Or are they a part of this collectors set that has been mentioned?

A bit of both - looks like they went for a multi gen mix and G1 Minty became G3/G4 version. But hey Moondancer and Firefly at least!

That is a far more elaborate booth set up than I remember from previous years!   Looks like a whole separate section for the apple family sets may be on the far right.  Wish I could see it in person!

Okay, okay. I do still want the doll, but after HeMan was mentioned, I totally couldn't resist. It's definitely an ... interesting ... artistic choice. That's for sure.

What I'm really curious about is who the Pizzazz wannabe is in the background? (EQG with the green hair.) Might need to buy 2 of those: one to leave as-is and one to have my friend sew a Rydia (Final Fantasy IV) costume for. *shrug* Only time will tell.

I agree with everyone saying the castle looks amazing. If I can get things sorted around here and make some room, that's definitely something I'm going to want. Cadance is pretty, but I'm new to FiM and haven't meet her on the show yet, so I'm neutral to her. Whether I'll want her will depend on how I like her character. I do want the Glamour Glow Rarity that was released, though. (Rarity and Fluttershy are my favorites.)

I think what bothers me more is right now they have a doll of Flash now but still no brushable pony?

Maybe they think "Hey the main line does have a boy. It's Shining Armor! So now lets make Flash Sentry for the EQG line!"

This excites me because I just started collecting Hikari figures! Plus, they seem to pump these out much quicker than vinyl figures.

The only downside? They're usually pretty expensive.

Yeah, that's what I've heard. Hopefully someone can get some clearer photos, because I realllyyy wanna see what the variant Dash up there looks like. I really like the pose she's in. That tumblr is currently posting all kinds of photos from the toy fair if any of you would like to check it out.

They're going to be expensive though, and very limited based on other Hikari figures.

My advice: if you aren't a Rainbow Dash fan, don't buy 'em. I'm sure we'll see other ponies eventually, but I get why Dashie is the first to get the Hikari treatment. He design just translates really well to the different designs they use for these figures.

I dunno, I'm excited. I prefer the Hikari figures over the vinyls at this point. I love my rainbow Stay Puft one. ^.^

About time we saw Funko Spike! Poor guy's kind of neglected/forgotten a lot :P I'm not totally sure on SA having his clothes... it might grow on me though.

I'm really really really REALLY hoping we see as many new pony brushables as EQG dolls.  :cry: Wishful thinking, but maybe it'll calm down a bit now that the newness has kind of worn off.

I like the dynamic pose on that Funko RD.  I might be tempted to get one of those in the futur.  Especially if they do one of Twighlit reading a book.

I don't quit understand why all of the female EG have pony ears but Flash is without?

So do we think the motor cross thing is a playset because if it is it looks awesome :D And the blind bag figures look nice displayed like that, but i don't have the room to display them like that so will likely pass on those XD Can't wait for the flash doll though :) Though i wish he'd have brushable hair and pony ears. So far i'm liking the look of this years equestria girls and the new playschool line looks cute. Might have to snag moondancer. Though i'm a little confused as to the lack of any of the main pony line :/ I'm guessing there's more though as you can see the castle and what look like brushable ponies behind it in an earlier shot of the hasbro booth :)

I don't know what to think.  On the one hand, I like some of these toys, and I will definitely be getting the Funkos and the Playskool ponies.

But...I'm sad and sorely disappointed in the way MLP is headed.  It's just not MLP to me anymore (because of the lack of brushables, which...IMO...is what My Little Pony has always been about).  I know times are a'changin' and everything, and maybe it's my inner crotchety old lady talking, but, I can't get past the "no brushables" thing.  At least with the Playskool ponies, we have some really sweet memorable G1 characters.  Frankly, that might make up for the lack of brushies to me.  But we'll see.

I'm with you :hug:  I was perturbed when the G4 brushables were so small compared to G1's.  They grew on me and I was eventually very happy with them since I could have more characters in a smaller space.  Then I was perturbed that the Fashion Styles (which are the proper size for a pony) cost so darn much...but I can get many of them second hand, so that's okay...but THEN they stopped making new characters.  Mane six. Over. And. Over.

So I am FINALLY glad that this year we get new characters!  So glad.

hjoenstly i'm not imprssed.  but  to be fair they did ecavtly waht i thought they woudl do.    more Egd.  which is what here focus is . and yessweet apple acres is cute. butits likely those pop buildings and pop ponus or blind bags not brushables. 

i think that  hoenstly brushable  ponys that arnet mane 6 are a pipe dream at this point. i think thre primary focus is no longer my little pony. its more  my little Dolly now. which is fine for some people but it isnt want i signed up for.

so  far it loosk liek there svery little g4 i will be buying.

Actually, according to the things I've seen posted in other threads, there is going to be 2 packs for the playskool ponies.  So you won't have to buy the whole playset.  Moondancer and Minty are supposed to be sold in a 2 pack together.

The Playskool toys, with their mix of characters from past generations, look more like "My Little Pony" than just about anything else. I'll definitely be grabbing Moondancer and any of the new mold blind bags, since I've built a better collection with them than I'll ever be able to with the brushables at this point.

Other than that, it's feeling increasingly disingenuous to call the brand "My Little Pony" when so much emphasis has been on those dolls these past few years...

I had a really strong feeling Princess Cadance and Shining Armor would be the next Funkos! I'm happy they are, especially Cadance! It's cool Spike will be released too. Is it just me of so his eyes seem way too big though? I'll have to see more pics of him. I don't like that they put SA in the coat. He only wore that for the wedding, Funko  -_- You didn't put Cadance in her wedding dress (thank goodness) so why SA in the wedding garb?
The Hikaris look cool but I don't want to get into collecting them. My 1 Funko vinyl RD is enough for me.  ;)

C'mon somebody, please take a pic of that table with the brushies on it! Not really having hope for any surprises but I at least want to see for myself. Also, is there no TRU excl. table this year? :cry:

Don't think anyone else has shown this part of the playskool display yet?

We hardly saw any brushables at last year's NYTF, and we got quite a few new ones in this past year, so I wouldn't e panicking about the lack of them just yet.

I need that big castle. And I'm afraid I'm going to have to find space for those playschool ponies. They're too cute.

I guess as someone who got into pony collecting with G4, I'm not too upset over the lack of brushables.  Even as a kid, I hated brushable hair.  I'd always cut it on my Barbies, or complain that it was in the way.  *shrugs*  I don't mind giving my G1s and G4s a spa day, fixing up their hair, and making them look pretty every once in a while, but I really do like molded hair...which is why I love the Funko figures and cannot WAIT for those Hikari Dashie figures!

I would like to see more characters made into brushables though.  I get why they're focusing so much on EqG, but it's not my cup of tea and it never will be.  I'm also over the POP ponies, except the playsets.  They're just not for me, either.

The castle set and those Playskool ponies are definitely two big highlights for me!  I'm not even ashamed to get the Playskool sets for myself.  :lol:

The purple + blonde winged pony in the back might be Lily Blossom, maybe? No idea about the other two winged ponies, or about the new unicorn.. I LOVE the unicorn girl, though!! She's adorable!

edit: Wait - I just thought, is the pink unicorn the one that was shown in that recent trailer for season 5 of FiM? It's hard to tell with the lighting, but their colours look similar, so maybe?

Finally we can actually see what's on those tables! I like the new wings on Blossomforth, Dash and Lily. So glad they're not the CMM ones that honey buzz have. I'm really excited for Coco, rarity's playset, and celestias castle (bummer we have to wait till fall!) but I do love that they finally listened to us and are starting to make playsets for the blind bags with new story packs. I don't like the zap codes all over the ponies or the ribbons in the hair of the brushables:/ As much as I hate to admit it, I'm actually really excited for all the new EQG's. If only they would put half that effort into their actual PONIES! Will be very interesting to see what she meant by Twilight becoming "Midnight Sparkle" at the end of the new movie.

I need the metalic pop Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, the SA, Spike, and Cadance funkos, the Sweet Apple Acres barn (comes with Granny Smith. Must. Own. Now!), a bunch of the little Sweet Acres characters, the Playskool collector set (so cute!), the solid golden Rainbow Dash (maybe), the Canterlot Castle, Rarity's shop (!!!) and some of the ponies that come with codes for the new app. (I love digital stuff if it's done well--I'm going to be optimistic for now.) ... My wallet is going to hate me, and so are my shelves. Whew!

Actually, I think those big wing ponies are Rainbow Dash, Blossomforth, and Lily Blossom.  So not exactly new, but at least two aren't the mane 6.  I am looking forward to the new unicorn.

I wonder why we haven't seen the TRU set yet.

All my favorite ponies are getting merch all of a sudden though but I'm happy XD

Awesome to see the new blue haired FS, don't know who she is but she looks adoreable and I will want to pick her up.

Interesting to see a Gala Rainbow Dash FS too, sad her dress isn't fabric like the old one though, still really looking for just the dress >.< Sad they never made a whole FS set of Gala outfit ponies but I suppose that's why I need to learn to sew a bit better :P

So one new normal sized character. As expected I'm really disappointed. At least we've gotten more characters in previous years than were shown at the toy fair so hope isn't completely lost. I just wish I could be excited.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ribbon hair wave. I feel like it'll be about as easy to manage as tinsel, and it obviously won't blend with the hair at all. The big wing ponies are the things I'm most curious to see in person at some point.

Then again, the stores around me haven't been keeping up with new releases whatsoever, so I won't hold my breath  :P

I know we are probably getting more new brushable characters since there have been some popping up on Taobao. I'm disappointed yet excited about the next wave of Water Cuties. I'm disappointed because they won't be snowglobe body ponies like Pinkie and Rarity and Diamond Mint were but I'm excited because the glitter filled wings are still pretty sweet.

I really like the outfits they gave to the new fashion styles. At first, I wasn't too keen on the molded clothes, but that was more about the actual design of the clothes, which looked like they were designed by 5-year old girls instead of just for them.  These new ones are really cute though, and I think they're all based off of actual outfits from the show (I know Dash's is).

I have no idea why they switched to molded outfits, though.  I doubt it would be for cost savings, making unique molds for clothes for a single toy (and I haven't seen any of these outfits recycled yet) can't be more cost effective than using fabric (although it may save on production time, I can't say for sure).  My guess is it's for durability, considering they're for small children.

I think those Playskool ponies are my favorite :)  Love how Moondancer is in there.  I am confused though why toddlers need a collector pack though  :P

The pegasus ponies with the "snowglobe wings" look cool as well as Sweet Apple Acres, new character brushables, and Funko Shining Armor and Cadence.  Unfortunately, I don't think I'd buy any of it though.  I know toys change with the decade, and I am sure a large amount of work goes into creating them, but a lot of it has lost the feel of MLP to me.  I especially don't like that the dolls seem to be a frontrunner.  The reason I loved MLP as a kid was because they were ponies.  I really don't like the look of the dolls or the skimpy clothes they are wearing.   -_-

I assume it's this, and for ease of putting them on/taking them off. My sister's Bratz and Barbie clothes were forever getting torn or stained, whereas the rubber/plastic/etc Polly Pocket clothes survived much longer.

Also - my guess is that the lack of brushables is precisely because that is what people associate with MLP. The Toy Fair is a chance for companies to showcase their new ideas and lines, right? So to Hasbro, I imagine that showing off the core line would be a waste of their (limited) space, because people are expecting the brushable lines to continue, so they're showing off the new themes and gimmicks their toys will have like the glitter wings, the ribbon-hair, the zapcodes, and the new EqG themes, etc.

It's pretty cool to see how many different things they're doing with the brand. I didn't like brushable toys as a kid, which is why MLP never appealed to me then. Had the brand been this diverse when I was a kid? I'd have been all over those blind bags, and the snowglobe ponies and glimmer wings would have enticed me in for sure :lol: I know people that are all about the brushables complain but...in order to appeal to more people, Hasbro can't just concentrate on one line. Not everything here is something I'd buy, but I can see how a lot of it will appeal to the target audiences, and in many ways, I'm also thankful, because wanting ALL the things is damaging to my wallet :lol:

SQUEE! I love Flash! He is honestly the only Equestria...Girl Boy doll im excited about! All my money this year is going to mostly Zelfs and Descendants Dolls! I am of course buying some new MLP Singles and the Giant Cadance, but Im nearly totally done with EQG. Alos, the Playschool MLP's are adorable! I ACTUALLY want some of those! xD

I just showed the video to my 5yo DD, and she expressed it perfectly: "where are more ponies?" Seriously, Hasbro, with all the new EQG dolls (even if Flash Sentry is super creep), you couldn't design/release some new ponies? The line is called My Little PONY, for goodness sake! If my 5yo can see that--as your target market--you are missing the mark and failing.

And I am going to go broke in the fall LOL Her birthday is in October, and you can bet she added a bunch of stuff to her list just by watching the video (Sweet Apple Acres and the Playskool ponies "they are all babies, look how cute!").

The water cutie wings look really tacky to me plus all repeat characters no thanks. The new brushable looks good, no wild cutie mark magic all over it or crazy designs, nice to see a basic one for once. Coco also looks good, however whoever mentioned that this fair to to show new ideas I think you're right however they still should have shown more of the original stuff too like Funko does. The Funko booths were AMAZING! I couldn't be more happy with Princess Cadence Shining Armor and SPIKE! I cannot wait to see more pictures if anyone sees or finds them please post thanks! Also very excited about the new MLP Hikari, although they are super expensive to collect not sure yet I think I need them though they are going to come out with some amazing poses! Thats what people always said Funko needed was poses and now we will be getting them too! So for sure buying the Funkos (duh) most likely the MLP Hikari Rainbow Dashs and possibly the new brushie, and blind bags stuff (on the fence) the barn and that do look great though!

The new unicorn and Fluttershy have the app symbol in colors that complement their colorscheme (purple and pink).  I really hope the black app marks on the others are just prototypes and that they can switch them to less obtrusive colors as well.

I'm just weirded out that he has human ears and the girls don't.  I realize that in the show all the characters have human ears except when they transform or whatever, but the toy line should be consistent.  The rest of the toys have pony ears, so Flash should too.

I agree with Majesty. Although sexy-no, these toys are mainly made for little girls, if they want "sexy" they can go look at Edward Cullen or whoever tickles their fancy.
Serious, yes...even Ken looks better than Flash O.o and Ken is all sparkly, shiny happy. Flash just looks wonky :L

Yeah :\ waves with only 1 new character bug me - especially if they have some sort of weird gimmick, like the Rainbow Powers or Water Cuties. They just look so out of place by themselves on a shelf.

Agreed- it's weird.  They actually should have just made the Equestria Girls human, with headband-ears that you can attach.  Honestly, the fact that they turn partially into ponies when they play their instruments- (even when Twilight from ponyland isn't there right) is ... very strange.   When that happens- do their human ears disappear?

The brushables! I'm loving Coco Pommel. I'm sure her clothes come off, judging by the extra accessories by her. Remember when G3 switched to plastic clothes? I bet it's the same idea.

I got really excited over those glitter wing ponies because they reminded me of Flutters, until I saw those stupid little scan codes on their legs and how clunky and boxy the wings look. Oh, the codes really make me mad. At first I thought they were hollow, clear bubbly wings like Flutters. Wish they were...

And I thought Funko Spike was flipping me off at first and was like, ????

Those Playskools are cute though! I don't know if I'll actually get them, but Moondancer and Minty make it tempting. Especially if they're rubbery/soft vinyl, I'd have to, I love that squishy soft feeling, kinda like the G1 ponies.

As far as EQG goes, completely ignoring it. I just scrolled right past. I used to get annoyed just looking at them for how much they're overtaking a PONY line, but I really decided to give up... I'll just hide in the shadows with false reality and my ponies, only coming out to snap up the occasional new pony, then scuttle back to the shadows... lol

Edit: Alright, not trying to ruin the big light up Candence and Rarity for anyone with the big crystal things all over their bodies, but... Does it look to anyone else like they caught some sort of plague...? XD

But that bearded pony in the Apple Family set! OH MY GOD A BEARDED PONY!!

Man I feel like I'm being such a Debbie Downer but Hasbro's making it hard for me to get excited about much...

Whoa. What's up with all those metallic POPs? Fluttershy looks awful, but maybe I'll like the black ones.

It's so sad that they introduce a whole bunch of new stuff on their other lines but we barely get new exciting brushables.

My unsolicited thoughts- I'm snagging the weird black Luna Funko Pop figure for my army, but everything else I could pass on. I really actually adore the diverse and detailed Sweet Apple Acres series of playsets, but I'm not sure if I'll actually buy them or not. Space is at a premium and most of my collection is in boxes anyway due to lack of space, so no real point in buying more that's not army ponies. *shrug*

Hikari Funko looks interesting- not a fan of RD but if they make other characters like Luna and Muffin, I'll look into getting some.

EQG- not even going to remark, this line is literally not for me.

G4 brushables are boring as ever (sorry!) and the ribbon + weird wings gimmick doesn't seem very well thought out. The QR codes are too stark black, they just grab my attention too much because it's the area of highest contrast other than the eyes.

Fashion Style additions are cool but I won't be buying any- I don't like how Coco has a hat on her eye and the molded plastic clothing is a huge turn-off, show-accurate or not.

I will chose to be positive and view this as a good year to catch up on previous releases I have yet to obtain and make some cool customs.

Hasbro is going to be releasing an app in June. You'll be able to scan the codes on various ponies and playsets to import them into the app. That's pretty much all we know, I think.

I'm liking the new unicorn too. It seems she'll be playing some part of season 5. They showed a quick glimpse of her in the new preview and her colors match up with that character. I hope I like her on the show as well.  :satisfied:

I really hope I'll be able to get my hands on Coco and that she won't be paired in shipments with Pinkie Pie...I missed out on Sunset Shimmer and now they won't restock because Cadance isn't selling. I guess there's always online though. And as a few people before me said...I sort of hope those snowglobe wings are removable. I think they would've been fine if they weren't so huge.

I'm kinda suprised we didn't saw any exclusive items. I thought that we would at least see those flower-decorated Brushables. Also, at the London Toy Fair we saw a Big Mac Pop as well and I believe I saw a Trixie brushable as well. (probally the charm wings one)

I have to say that I'm a little disappointed that the pop playset is that new weird tree/castle thing.  I was really hoping for Fluttershy's cottage or AJ's barn.  And I guess there is never a possibility of getting Twilight's old library as a playset now.  :(

The pop ponies and blind bags are a far bigger "problem". Clearly hasbro will not stop making ponies. However they obviously invest more into pop ponies and now these new big blindbag sets. Those are the pony toys Hasbro believes in most it seems.
It's the ponies who are taking over the ponies. XP

Hasbro is making the toys that the stores are ordering.  The best way to impact what is being offered- is to bug the stores to carry brushable ponies.

I hate to say it- but I love these blind bag size pony sets too- I love diorama type stuff-  and I love how dynamic their poses are- that one sitting is SO CUTE!  The barn looks pretty cute too- and I loved the look of the squeezy machine too- (not liking some of the molds so much though- like some of the ponies with really floaty hats and the crusaders with the plates on their heads- not that cute...)

I'm kinda hoping Taobao provides later because what I've seen is... disappointing. As much as I love Gala RD, even as someone with an intentional G4 Rainbow Dash and Applejack army I'm getting sick of weird rehashes where it's just one little gimmick added. The ribbon haired brushables you just chop off the ribbon and it's the exact same pony as the last mane six rereleases.

I get the feeling they didn't do a favorites pack this year because their goth mane 6 one didn't sell. Hopefully that would've sent the message "we're tired of mane 6 rereleases with some odd decoration to make it new" but I don't think that was the message Hasbro got.

Question I'm honestly curious about; who is the EqG demographic and where are all these sales that are driving down ponies and driving up dolls coming from?

The bronies aren't huge fans of EqG except for maybe that one ditzy siren girl. Collectors seem to lean more towards ponies though in fairness I have seen some that do collect EqG. And the demographic outlined by Hasbro's investor presentation (I can't find it but I think it was like 10-12 year old girls) seem to have outgrown dolls by that point. So who is EqG really selling to? It's such a confusing brand to have made it this far.

To end on something positive; I need that Funko Cadance. I've been begging for a Funko and BaBW Cadance and now there's both. YES. And credit where it's due, the Apple family blind bags are pretty cool. I'm glad they tried some new molds even with old characters, makes the scene much more dynamic.

(ETA: I don't get the QR codes. afaik QR is kinda going the way of the dodo.)

Equestria Girls has been one of the fastest growing brands Hasbro has.  Though, that's because it has the most new material coming out.  Strange how a brand with new stuff to buy will sell well.

Slightly off topic but:

To be honest I still played with dolls when I was in that age bracket (10-12, probably even 13).  But I also didn't have a lot of the other distractions kids have today like mp3 players, smartphones, video game systems, etc (I'm talking circa 1995-1998).  My family would have just barely gotten our first computer at that point.  Plus I had a sister 5 years younger than me, so I was playing with her a lot with toys that were skewed a bit younger.

And now that I'm 30 I'm back to dolls with EAH/MH haha!  Personally I think the EQG dolls are fugly, but obviously someone is buying them!

More on topic!
Nothing shown here thrills me.  I'm not interested in POP, I'm not interested in Blind Bags, I'm not interested in Fashion Style...and 75% of the brushables are rehashes of the Mane 6.  :(  The new unicorn will probably come home with me, but that's it.

I am excited to see Funko SA & Cadence though!

They could distort or hide it in the package so you can't scan it.  Simply wrapping the hair around the leg that has the code could be enough.>>; We haven't seen them in-package yet, I don't think.

Someone said there's a Transformers app that works on the same principle, and you have to rescan the toys every few days to keep using them. Mind, I don't see what's to stop there from being a website that lists all the different codes.

To end on something positive; I need that Funko Cadance. I've been begging for a Funko and BaBW Cadance and now there's both. YES. And credit where it's due, the Apple family blind bags are pretty cool. I'm glad they tried some new molds even with old characters, makes the scene much more dynamic.

(ETA: I don't get the QR codes. afaik QR is kinda going the way of the dodo.)

If there isn't going to be a favorites pack then how do you explain the flower tattoo style G4s that were found?

I will say that i LOVE EqG. Absolutely love them. I'm buying more of them at this point than the ponies. However, i don't know how true it is in the  US, but from what i've seen in the UK, EqG is really popular with little girls. Possibly between the ages of 5 and 11. Whenever i go pony shopping i see little girls asking their parents for the dolls and deciding who to get. Considering the cartoon is really limited here, they know all of their names. We had one cinema release of Rainbow Rocks back in October and the cinema was full of kids with their dolls. I mean this thing wasn't advertised anywhere unless you were searching for it. I only found it by chance. A friend of mine has a six year old who is obsessed with the dolls. She adores them. She likes the characters (be it in pony form or doll) and at this point the dolls are the more interesting toy choice for her.

At first i thought the line would be a flop, especially with those first dolls, but credit to Hasbro, they seem to have turned it round with Rainbow Rocks.  And i have to say i can't wait for the new Equestria Games line :)

The seated blind bag-sized ponies in the background of that one photo look almost like Bubbles and Seashell! I like the little sets as well, but sometimes the paint jobs on them is a little sloppy, I've noticed.  :huh:

The stuff that shows up at Toyfair is obviously not all that will come out over the year- there are already new ponies on Taobao that were not previewed at Toyfair.

I think the Equestria Girls are pretty popular with girls- ages 4-11 - based on my own observations (my own nieces ages 4 - 11! and who I see buying them at Target). Maybe some girls that are 11 are too old for dolls but definitely not all. It's a very odd time for a girl- they do still love dolls but are also turning into tweens. 

I think the Equestria Girl offshoot line is probably doing pretty well for the line to have expanded so much. And somehow I don't think that "brony appeal" even shows up on Hasbro's radar with regard to this line.

The pop ponies and blind bags are a far bigger "problem". Clearly hasbro will not stop making ponies. However they obviously invest more into pop ponies and now these new big blindbag sets. Those are the pony toys Hasbro believes in most it seems.

Whatever the reason though, there seem to be less and less brushable ponies. Whenever I go to look for ponies in toy stores, I see mostly EQG and Pop. And other releases I'm not interested in.

I got the one and only Cutie Mark Magic Skywishes and Sunset Shimmer I found in my nearest toy shop! And I had to ask my friend to get me a Sweetie Drops from another shop as the one he bought from the same shop was the last one too :P And I wasn't even planning to get Skywishes and SS, as I already had older releases of them, but I had to get SOMETHING!   :P

So yeah, disappointed in the lack of brushables. But that will leave me more money for my new MH addiction ;)

Because my DD10 just shrugs or goes "that's neat" at the actual pony lines, but goes bananas for anything Equestrian Girls. She is also very into the MH EAH lines.

Yeah I'll admit it too:  My DD11 goes crazy for the EG humanized ponies.  She's very excited about the new line. 

I think it has struck a chord with the older end of their target demographic and Hasbro knows it.

Nice find. Thanks for sharing. Wish these ponies would come out sooner. Also looks like they slapped a few packaging together before the fair because the Apple Strudel single has another pony in the packaging.

Maybe the floating hats have some plastic under them to keep the hat from rubbing on the pony and scraping the paint- during shipping (I hope so because they look pretty stupid like that)

You might be on to something there - if you squint closely, it looks like there is something either side of where Flim's hat meets his head, and it looks like the other pony has something transparent sitting on her face (it's most obvious around the eyes).
